That's because you did not realise all Lucy wanted to go home and write her diary... so go and write her diary ;) Well I admit you could miss that fact, but it was my first game, next time I will make it even more obvious, I promise.
(I don't even mark this as a spoiler  ;D)

in the room's repeatedly execute:

if (character[NAMEOFCHAR].walking!=1){
MoveCharacter(NAMEOFCHAR, Random(320),Random(200));
}
that should do it yes no?
Would that mean the player character could do his actions while NAMEOFCHAR is sort of minding his business in the background?

General Discussion / Re:Auto Outline in PSP?

Thank you everyone for your friendly advise! I managed to do it now. This anti-alliassing stuff is supposed to make the pictures look cooler, but for us its really a pain in the neck.  >:(

General Discussion / Auto Outline in PSP?
Sun 16/11/2003 17:38:38
Hi there,
can someone help me a bit about Paintshop Pro? I made a character-set, but on the edges its a bit blurry, and when the character walks in front a different color, it looks strange. That's why I would like the outline of the sprites, that means always the last pixel before the sprite ends (if you know what I mean...) black. Theoretically its no problem doing that by hand, but isn't there something like an auto-outline function or a trick which can save me from doing the outlines for all the sprites I have now? :)

I just love pink rabbits with yellow beaks, that's all  ;D
Well, it's the mascott of an English-language-school in Japan, and because I had bad personal experience with them, some English-teacher of them stealing my girlfriend although he was 12 years older and married, blah blah blah, I decided to take revange and ruining their reputation by using their mascott as my avatar.
BTW: Dave, I am happy you switched back to that Jeans-Guy, he is sooooooooooo great :)

You have to draw every single sprite, import them via the sprite-editor and then give "views" to your character, for example a walking view. IN the view editor you can decide which of your importet sprites together make one animation.
Also read the beginners-tutorial for more useful information and enjoy using AGS  :)

Critics' Lounge / My background: The Cafe
Sun 16/11/2003 00:20:33
OK,
I decided to listen what DG and Vel and other people tell me and I am drawing the backgrounds for my next game by myself. It looks crappy of course...  :D
So what do you think? I am happy about the tables in the back, although someone told me the perspective is not 100% correct, but I am not happy about the tables in the front and I would like to add some chairs, but grrrrrr... I cannot draw chairs! Even when I look at photos of chairs. DO you know Ikea? I have been looking at Ikea chairs the whole day, but still I cannot manage to add a few chairs to my Cafe-Background.

So what do you think? Any advice is welcome.
But don't tell me I should use stolen backgrounds in my next game too  :P

There is even the action "enable dialogue-options" available in the action editor which refer to the dialogues, you might want to check that out. It's pretty simple.

I recommend Japanese horro movies  ;D There is not much blood or sewed body parts, but they are really scary!
"Ring" was a Japanese movie too because those Americans did a remake.

In the editor, you can put a if-condition called "if inventory item # was selected" into the "inventory item was used" action-list, select the number of the inventory item and add the wanted effect after this if-condition.
Mmmh... maybe I should remember what the parts of the editors are acutally called, I don't think its called action-list, but its the place where you decide the effects of your action.

Easy man, calm down... I don't know what Vel has done again now, but maybe better take a nap and tomorrow you can face him freshly with new energy, no need to post this swearing in several topics now... please

Now if first prize was a million pounds i would be really pissed off...
That's a good idea for the MAGS anyway, could we discuss about it? The winner of next month can choose either to get one million pounds OR to choose the rules of the following month :)

Anyway, if I WERE two people, I would have voted for PureGhost's game twice, and if I were 50 people I would have voted 50 times so it was me who made it look so close :P

PureGhost, your game was really nice, I hope I can see more games made by you soon :). And somehow I feel this month was a great Mags-month and I am looking forward to november, when its dark outside and cold and many people stay at home making games :)

Hi Vel,
I can see you put a lot of effort in it. Scripting, dialogues, story, graphics music and atmosphere is done very very "vel"  ;). I did not really like the fact that the whole game consists of sequences to 85% or so and the existing puzzles are rather lame, but as you said, it's not puzzle-orientated. And since I could download it for free, I didn't mind to finish it after a few minutes (ha! I did not even get stuck at the safe ;D). Nice work, I am looking forward to your next projects.

You can deal with the guard like this:
Spoiler
After rolling the apple you must hide quickly in the dark shadow of the wall on the left side. The guard will not be able to find you and keep looking for you on the other side. That's your chance to stabb her with your knife.

And some people complained about this thread being in the wrong forum because it was in the wrong forum before the moderators moved it here.  ;) And of course is Exile an AGS-game, one of my favourite actually.

Hahaha, I can recognise two of the characters, so cute  ;D
