Characters remind me of the sims.. which again is an added plus.  Can't wait to see where this game goes.

Hello :)
Thank you for the nice replies.
I liked Willy Beamish too  :)
Characters are SIMs  ;D We discussed the method here
http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=8095

I am happy to tell you that the beta-version was just uploaded and is now going to be tested by a few friendly people, so I should be able to offer the final version to download in a couple of days.

Cheers

Hi again,
could you tell me if there is a problem about this script within the dialog-editor?

@8  // option 8
DAVID: Right now I have no big orders...
DAVID: But I feel bored.
DAVID: Get me something exciting.
EGO: Aye aye, Sir!
set-globalint Knowledge 3
option-off-forever 8

Am I maybe not allowed to use "Knowledge", do I have to use a numbered global value for that?

EDIT: Got it now... its because of the fact you mentioned, that global-values in script and global-values in interaction editor are not the same, right?

Looking in the manual for dialog_request global scritp function and SetDialogOption function might push you to the right direction...
Thanks TK, you always helpful and quick  :)

CHECK THE ANNOUNCEMENTS FORUM FOR THE FULL GAME DOWNLOAD

"Hey Lucy, how was your day?"
"Awful. I finally wrote a love letter to Roger and wanted to give it to him after school..."
"And?"
"It all went wrong. He will think I am an idiot now..."
"Don't be sad Lucy."
"And now I have another problem. My borther, that little skunk, has stolen my diary and won't give it back to me...!"

Remember your hard days when you were a teenager? Those tough days come back when playing Lucy Lavender in this comedy-family-soap-opera.
The development of my first Adventure is making good progress. The whole story and all dialogs and texts and stupid jokes are written down, all backgroundgraphics ("borrowed" from an old Adventure, you should recognise it) and sprites are ready and put into the AGS, the scripting of the game itself is about half way done. I hope I can finish a Beta during next week and release the game within this month :)

Hello,
I would like to enable certain options of dialog within one topic, depending on the value of a global variable. The normal IF-string is not accepted by the Dialog-Editor-Script. Is there a way to do this within one topic or do I have to make several Topics, one for ech value? ???

Well, I remember there was a game actually called "Call of Cuthulu". You mean something else  ???

First of all you should download
http://www.pygott.demon.co.uk/simpose/simpose6n.exe
and not the file mentioned above. There is just one letter different, but if you download it the first time you will need that file. It contains the basic sceleton files.
When you download skins from Sim-Pages, most of them contain meshes too. Meshes are referred too as SKN-Files. The SKN-files go to the Gamedate/objX/Body folder (put f for female, m for male, g for girl, b for boy instead of X), the graphics go to the TexX/body folders. If you downloaded a face, of course put them to the Head folders, not the body ones. Putting the files correctly is a bit confusing at the beginning, but I managed too.
Sometimes the downloads only include the textures, then you should find a mesh somewhere, but I have no idea where either.
You don't need the sims to use this method. I don't have the Sims myself but created characters for my game with it.
Have fun :)

Hello everyone :)
I hope this is the right folder, because my problem is not really a problem of how to use the editor, but how to use graphics correctly...
I managed to get some graphics of objects and characters ready, they look quite ok, as in the attached graphic :) Because I want to use them in my game with a 320-200 , I will resize them in Paint Shop pro. As a model for the main character, I used the RON free ressources graphics, so my characters have about the same size like Mika now and should be in the right size for a 320-200 game now. But unfortunately, when I import them in the game, they look really really bad. There where quite detailled before, when resizing them, those details of course became less quality. When looking at the small size version in high resolution, it still looks ok, but when using 320-200, the characters of course appear bigger on the screen, and then I can see all the pixels...
I don't want to use a higher resolution for my game. Is there a good method to make them look ok in that resolution too? Some special way of resizing? Or should I import the huge sprites and scale them down in AGS instead?
Any help is appreciated :)

Here is my character. It was made with this lame Sims-Stuff ;)

We are proud to announce that those animation-files are now available for download  ;D

In case I should cut my bandwith, I would have to take it away again, but I am not really that worried. Thanks again to Groucho for sharing this idea with us.

Hi,
after checking my server, I think I could host the 9mb myself, but I am a bit sceptical... how much bandwith can I expect? How many people are going to download stuff like this? Who has experience hosting popular files for AGS and did anyone get in trouble for it? I really would like to host but a bit scared to get a bill at the end of the month for 100s of Euros :) Any advice?
Totoro

EDIT: Some people gave me feedback and I used my brain cells to calculate (not that I would have lots of brain cells  ::) ) and I think I will host that. Unless you did not find someone else in the meantime please get in touch with me. totoro AT gmx DOT de .

Don't trust MODs - he promised Kinky Island last October with a T-Shirt on a CD, and we're still waiting!
A T-Shirt on a CD? Do I have to print it out myself?  ;)

This is wonderful. You had a great idea and I hope you will use your skills also to make wonderful AGS Games.
Could someone quickly give the man 9mb webspace so we could all benefit from the animations he got  ;D

Wah, this looks awesome... I want it... I want it now... I want it so much  ;D

Hi,
so let's use the officcial LucasArts Gui Thread now  ;D
My problem seems pretty stupid. I got the GUI at http://usuarios.lycos.es/golfapagina/bazura/
and whenever I try to use them as a template, my AGS will tell me, that these templates where made with a newer version of AGS than I have and I cannot use them with my version. But I have 2.55! What is wrong? Sniff  ???
