Y'know, this video kind of reminds me of PUMA MAN (not Chris, the movie he took his name from.) The part where David's flying sort of haphazardly in front of the chroma-keyed landscape is a lot like Puma Man's flight style, and there's some cheezy synth solo at that part that reminds me of Puma Man's themesong. Hahaha. Die, Hasselhoff, die.

I'd say I'm like the Kung-Fu Master except that when I do choose to participate in a flame war I'm not that great at it.

I know what Snake is saying. He just thinks "camp" homosexuals are annoying dinkweeds. And they are. :)

That is so immensely screwed up...

Heh, that reminds me of a nice quote I grabbed off of a Fark flamewar (after someone was bashing Americans...)
QuoteThat's right, Americans are stupid.
Which is proven by the fact that we harnessed electricity, pioneered modern mass-production, invented the microchip, then personal computers, and ultimately facilitated the development of the Internet, all so foreigners could log on and tell us how stupid we are.

Of course that only started after guys obsessed with lesbians for years... Copycats. :P
Personally, I don't see what the big deal with lesbos is anyway... What kind of guy fantasizes about women who won't have sex with him? They're all over the place in real life!

Well friends, this certainly has been a gay adventure.
I guess we can lock up now...

I think the show you're thinking of is "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy", and it's about gay guys helping a straight guy with fashion and stuff, not turning him gay. Still, it's just playing off a dumb stereotype.  ::)

My point was that the "fantasy" genre is actually a lot wider than Tolkien-style stories. I guess this thread concerns THAT brand of fantasy, then, right? In that case, yes, of course there are cliches, because that brand is based off of what people associate with fantasy. Namely, wizards, elves, heroes, and all that stuff. That style of fantasy world environment is a cliche itself.

I think there was a thread like this a little while ago, actually...

Edit: Yep. http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=4285

Why does your signature say "I'm an artist seeking a team"?

C.Lex Evil: I know, but it keeps confusing me. Whenever I read one of your posts, C.Lex is the first thing I see. I'm not asking you to take it off, just pointing out that it's a bit confusing, to me, anyway...

I think my signature image is simply updated whenever I start or stop a song. So it doesn't take any more bandwidth for YOU than any other image.
And "Nothin'" means I'm not playing a song. You can choose the default no-song message...

QuoteShakeScreenBackground (int delay, int amount, int length)

Shakes the screen to simulate, for example, an earthquake. The game is not paused while the screen shakes - it will continue in the background.
DELAY specifies the 'shakiness' of the shake - 2 is the lowest you can pass for this, and will create the most shaky screen.

AMOUNT specifies the ferociousness of the shake - ie. how much the screen moves by when it does shake. Here, 1 is a very tiny shake, up to about 30 for a ferocious shake.

LENGTH specifies how long the shake lasts for, in game loops. For example, 80 would be equivalent to 2 seconds at the default game speed.

You can abort any current background shake that is in progress by calling this command with the LENGTH parameter as zero.

Example:

ShakeScreenBackground (4, 10, 80);

will shake the screen a little for 2 seconds.

There ya go.

Speaking of signatures, whenever I see a post from Evil I have to stop myself from confusing it with a post from C. Lex. I think that the big looming picture of C in his signature might have something to do with it.

Actually, fantasy is a wider genre than ya think... The wizards 'n' swords variety is full of cliches, of course, but look at some of the highest rated fantasy films:
http://www.imdb.com/Charts/Votes/fantasy

Toy Story, Being John Malkovich, Spirited Away, Brazil.... There are plenty of "fantasy" stories which are so far away from those cliches that you can forget that they're "fantasy".

How is it any slower than, say, Flippy's signature pic? How is it more irritating than any signature?
Anyway, if you click on mine, you can see my 50 most recent plays.

"Origin of the Species"?
I dunno about influential... Sure, it's caused a lot of controversy, but IMO, other than the controvery, I don't think the study of evolution has been a very big influence on history, compared to other sciences.
I think the best answers so far have been the Communist Manifesto and the Atlas...
