I never though Capalert was so bad... It's silly and oversensitive, but rarely very hateful. Even in that homosexuality article he was sure to stress that he had no beef with the actual homosexuals, just their sexuality.
On the Religious Wacko meter, Capalert gets a 3. It goes up to 11.

Hahaha. I guess I automatically win this one?
Oh wait, no winning on Phridays, huh. Oh well. I'll have to throw in some entries for this, phreestylin's what I do best.

EDIT: Ok, here we go.

I call this one "Photoshop Rocks"

And this is "LGM Nightmare"

Manga? Proportion? I guess so, except for the huge eyes, weird heads, and the fact that all the woman have perfect 18 year old bodies.

I hate my parents. They snuck, possibly even sneaked out last night to see it, without telling their precious chil'en. I want to see Johnny Depp all pirated up. I don't think any parts of my anatomy will explode, though.

He's used to it. Not only Johnny Depp, but skiing, lobsters, electricity, the barber shop, Latin music, video games, Nutella, motorcycles, books about birds, peaches, copper, infomercials, and the Shroud of Turin all make Urkel's dick explode.

I believe this is the first PG-13 movie released directly from Disney, instead of one of their subset companies.

DGMacphee: Haw haw.

I really really want to see it. It looks great.

Yeah, but I hang around an internet dominated by 20-somethings. If it was popular in the 80s, it's online nostalgia in the 00s.

Good sprite set, but... where's the *flashing* animation?

Even I know that the GI Joe thing is probably more of a result of being an 80s child than anything else. And I've never watched it.

Ok, but who goes next?

Here's two great adventure games:

MONKEY ISLAND 2
GRIM FANDANGO

Both by LucasArts, and both great for different reasons.

MI2's greatness is, well, the fact that it was MI2. It really defined early 90s adventure gaming, the style which us AGSers love to emulate the most. It's a perfect example of the formula for a good adventure game from the era-- snappy, consistent humor, beatiful-but-not-perfect graphics, a strong general puzzle structure, and the best music that MIDI can achieve. What made MI2 special, however, was the mood and the mystery, the latter of which almost seems to be an accident, what with the unresolved story, allusions to removed scenes, and such.

Grim Fandango, on the other hand, is great because of its rock solid story and style. So very original, and beautiful, this game could only be achieved the way it was-- Tim Schafer, a very creative man, worked on and lead games throughout LucasArts, gaining storytelling skills and then once he was ready-- POW, he sets loose his magnum opus (for now). The story is based off great, then-untapped Mexican folklore, and plays out like classic noir, which until then hadn't been properly done in an adventure game. The marriage of these two main elements just works so well, and the visual style mirrors it, with the unique image of calaveras running around in shadowy noir cityscapes. The greatness of this game is the fact that it stems from a monumentally bright idea. That can't be emulated, it just happens.

Ok. I recommend putting the tempo at 120 bpm, which I consider the most generic tempo.

Terrorists sacrifice their lives for offense, patriots tend to sacrifice their lives in defense. That's the difference I see, anyway. If one person is willing to die "for his country", it's useless. But if many are, then I suppose it's heroic. I certainly don't think it's selfish, just a little vague. It probably means that "if I were in a war, and had to put my life at risk just so, as part of a larger effort, future deaths could be prevented, then I would." I'm not sure what it has to do with America, but that's how patriots express it. It's an admirable sentiment that just sounds suspiciously jingoish.

The best adventure games are the ones we played when we were little and easily impressed. :)

What was it?

No, he's just French.

Er, wrong thread.
#798
Are you talking about canyon.mid? I kinda like that one.
#799
you can G.F.Y. cry on my shoulder too.  :P

Well, WAV would be too large. And not enough people can convert OGG. I guess MIDI would have to do, although it'd sacrificing some sonic freedom...
