Yeah, I've gotten this type of email before, but this time they at least seemed to know that I was a teenager. Thanks for your advice though, I guess I'll pass.

evil: I am working on a new CD and plan on buying a bunch of copies at discount on MP3.com and selling them to people I know.
"Don't Be Like the Sun" IS on a CD. http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/cds/264/264213.html
And thanks for pirating my music :P :)

I did it!! I think. It looks kinda blurry, but vaguely 3D. My eyes don't hurt, but my focus does feel out of sync. Hmm.

I googled, and mainly found the sites of dozens of bands mentioning that they were contacted by or included on a compilation of Kid Antrim. I searched in the Newsgroups, and there was a thread were the general consensus was that it's a scam, but I'm still curious what you people think.

As I said, the French stereotype is just too easy to pick on. The Russians don't have as clear a stereotype and are generally too cool to pick on. But those French with their striped shirts, berets, and snooty dispositions, c'mon. As far as fun-making goes, France is the boy-band of cultures. :)
No offense meant, this post is more of a commentary on the nature of the jesting of the French rather than the French themselves.

I wouldn't get any money out of it, just "exposure" that I can't really confirm. And they don't list their address, just a PO Box.

I just got this email:

Quote
I noticed that you are an aspiring songwriter. My name is M. Ebert and I am the founder of Kid Antrim Music, a forum geared towards the discovery and recognition of emerging and developing songwriting talent. We are currently welcoming submissions from solo acts or bands of any age group or music genre that would be interested in appearing on one of our 2003 Compilation CDs, which will be distributed to various record labels and radio stations nationwide.
If any of your songs are invited to appear, each CD would contain your contact information for listeners interested in getting more info on your music. To submit a song from your MP3.com website, please email us (KidAntrim2001@aol.com) and specify the website where your music can be downloaded and your song title(s). Upon submission, we also ask that you provide us with your postal mailing address so that we may properly contact you in the coming months with additional information.
This is a great chance to share your music with other songwriters and various factions of the music industry. For more info, visit www.kidantrimmusic.com.  We look forward to hearing from you soon, and hope you can help us spread the word about this venture.

According to their FAQ, I'll need to pay them 50 dollars if they pick me to be on a compilation. Does it sound like a scam to anybody?

Yeah, and even that's just an urban legend.

Furryphilia, what I consider the modern world's most inexplicable subculture.

Here are some fine examples of Furryphiles:

Very beautifully done. Excellent color... Although I don't think Natalie Portman would wear it, she has some dignity :)
#831
What about Furryphilia?
#832
I think so in SQ4... Not sure if you could pick them up though.

No, pinky and thumb extended means "hang loose".

I personally like this one:

I still stand by my argument that 97% of the people who make fun of Microsoft do it because they heard someone else doing it.

Jimi: I think there was an electric floor waxer in Space Quest 5.
Minime: Willy Beamish had a Gameboy-type thing.

As for items that I've never seen:

a sock puppet
a kazoo
an oven mitt
brass knuckles
DUCT TAPE??

Here's my theory: It's just a joke.

Everybody's always picked on the French. That's how we deal with them waving their private parts at our aunties and farting in our general direction.

How can you "look" at something cross eyed? Cross eyed means you're looking at your nose.

Dr. Sbaitso rocks. I still have him somewhere. Always lots of fun making him say things. Yeah, those were the days. Because we were little then. I suppose back then there were people saying that the early 80s were the days.

Looks to me like a parody of Eminem's Lose Yourself.
It's no "Couch Potato", but it's still very good. :)
