I'd love to go, but I doubt I'd be able to afford a ticket.

Simon the Sorcerer had a poke-key-through-lock puzzle as well, but in that case I think it was well-placed.

Thanks guys! ^_^

It's official, uncle-mum wins. Well done! You receive...no pixel trophy 'cause I suck at them. I will try to make you a crappy one just so you have something to show for this. :P

I was just going by the dates of the last one. Maybe that is how it's meant to be.

I should actually have mentioned that voting was supposed to start 2 days ago. I'll allow until the 24th for voting due to this massive oversight on my part.

My vote goes to uncle-mum, as I feel that his entry was the most likely to actually appear in the Guide.

In the back-to-us cycle it looks like he's holding his right arm behind him. It doesn't look natural. Other than that, great job.

Well here's a little lowdown on where I've been for the past few years:

I was at college a few years ago, and decided to buy a new computer to do my coursework on. I also happened at the time to be dating a woman from the US, so I took out a loan with the dual purpose of paying for me to take a holiday to visit her and buy me a new computer.

A few years later I had bought another new computer (because the old one just wasn't good enough to play World of Warcraft any more :P) and my mum's washing machine had packed up so I'd bought her a new one, and I had a store card to pay off for some clothes I bought for work. So I took out a consolidation loan to pay off everything, including the remainder of my original loan.

I'm now enrolled on an advanced networking security course that costs just under £6000, which is due in July or so I think. I've paid back about 10% of the aforementioned loan as of this writing (I think, it might be more than that).

At the moment, I'm not in dire straits and I'm not living the high life. I rarely buy new clothes unless I vitally need them, and I've even stopped splurging so much on video games (which is by far my highest expenditure, I just love games)

I moved out of my mum's last year and share a house now with a guy I used to work with. My rent costs me about a quarter of my weekly paycheck. I probably eat out more than I should and I definitely go out with my friends more than I should, but I'm going to cut back on that to save some money.

That said, I honestly have no idea how I'm going to pay for this course... :P

Sometimes I wish I'd just rode it out with the computer I had, but those are the choices I made and for better or worse I'll live with them and find a way to get by, even if it means selling some of my fancy little gadgets and giving up my mobile phone for a while.

And I would never, ever get a credit card. Don't trust myself with one.

Glad to hear it's still going strong, CROS. I'll sign up soon.

Have you tried opening the cereal? I'm not sure that's any help but I distinctly remember that there's something in the cereal box.

There's nothing inherently -wrong- with the whole "emo style" per se, but it does seem to be pretty overdone.

I play online. I have some really non-conventional decks, one based around Underworld Dreams/Megrim/Howling Mine, one based around March of the Machines/Myr Landshaper/Dross Scorpion and one based on Petals of Insight/Channel the Sun/Thief of Hope. I like decks that don't look like much initially but built into an absolute nightmare for your opponent.

I'm going to refrain from the usual critique people I know give poems like this. (omg another emo poem). The only real issue I have is one that I myself suffer from when writing poems, and that's places where you seem to have sacrificed the meaning for the sake of the rhyme. Especially the following lines:

"my mind has long way strayed" fits the metre, but sounds awkward and breaks the flow a bit. Same thing with "my relations are fading black"

"I've left myself some things to screw" Doesn't really seem to fit with the rest of the paragraph. There are a variety of things it could mean, but ultimately it makes that part a bit murky (which is possibly what you were going for)

"I hear your words like whisper bits" The bits there doesn't flow right, and also doesn't rhyme very well with gifts. I know that poetry doesn't always have to rhyme, but you've used "true" rhymes everywhere else throughout and this bit looks strange.

Those are the biggest issues I have with it, really. All in all I like the tone of it.

I'll see if I can have a chat with Dualnames about this, since it doesn't seem anyone's going to enter with the current topic.

Adventure: The Inside Job did something similar to this (with the exception of text adventure). I like the idea, so go for it!

Wow, don't all enter at once, guys, we can't keep up with the sheer level of writing that's flying through the topic! </sarcasm>

Is this just a topic that nobody's interested in?

I made my own Sea Kitten.

Then I ate it.

It tasted like fish.
