SO, I finally got my brother to finish this one. It's for my soon-to-be-presented-in-GiP-thread-game, 320x240 res, shitloads of colous, don't kill me. Anyway, done mostly on paper, traced to PSP by hand and finished with deluxe paint I'd suppose, here it is.

I personally find it awesome, though something can always be done. I especially like the tree. So I started this thread for my brother so he could get some personal advice and maybe some new ideas, you never know. Oh, and if you don't want to be a critic, comments are always welcome.

Quite right, I do!

Like after 5 years of waiting they're finally coming to Finland! Am I happy or what. Who cares if the tickets were 55e each and I'm in debt, at least it's bound to be an awesome consert.

Actually they're making a little acoustic tour around the Scandinavia and some other countries, meaning they'll only have the singer and the guitarist Ian Anderson and Martin Barre with and lsot of random people it still must be worth it. Be happy for me. It's my all time favourite band.

Heh, I remember when I first read about this from a newspaper at a lecture, I jumped in the air. Sadly the whole consert is booked, so only me and my brother are going. And we're on the 8th row, so up yours who didn't order them in advance. Damn, I'm so exited I want to share!

I'm so close to killing myself right now...

Serisously, I just chewed my headphones broken because I hate everything that moves or doesn't move at the moment. why? because I can't solve this bloody thing! So I thought maybe someone could help a bit. So, I need to count the standard error (of the mean)... WEll, here's the function or what'sit.
Soo... well, the baisc thing is, that I have 672 pupils, all got notes in between 0 and 5 as following

noteÃ,  Ã,  amount of notes(x)
0Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã, 100
1Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã, 168
2Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã, 180
3Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã, 164
4Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  41
5Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  19
---------------------
Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Ã, 672

So here... well,

the figure n stands for the amount of the observations, that is 672 if I'm not wrong.

the Xi is a single observation, (a note, 0,1,2...,5)

and the X with the ¯ is the average note, that is 1,90.... I have count it already and it was correct, so that I'll give to you.

Well, I don't get it, should I really give x the values from 1 to 672? I really don't get anything...

Well, basically I can't finish the course if I don't get this right!

Ok, just a tiny question. I dug up this NES emulator and some games that I used to LOVE when I was a bit younger but hadn't played them for many years. One of them was this, Gunsmoke

Rings a bell? Good, because then I suppose you could know a little bit of something I don't. You see, I just played 20 minutes straight in a row... the first level. I've been to level 4, 3 many times, easily, just by shooting the buggers from my way and then killing the bad guy in the end, but now that I play, I seem to repepat the same scene over and over again. So is there really soething you're not supposed to do when you walk through it. I noticed once when I played that I walked through it 3 times and then got to the next level, walked through that 3 times, but hey.

If I knew how, I could make an awesome video, lasting 20 minutes or more, of me going through the same thing voer and over again. seriously, I lknow the 1st level by heart now, the last times I just stood as in the front as possible and shot everyone before they were visible.

I tried google, all game sites, I don't know how to reach the second level, the manual says nothing like it. Jeez, I even had 10 lives when the guy starts with 4 or 3, just by going through it again and again collecting the same stuff.

So, what is this. Well, I know there are more of us who want to bleed on paper with a pen. This is the perfect chance rewoken, as wished but never happened. Just like the communist revolution. I'm referring to this here, yessiree, indeed: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=18519.msg225471#msg225471

You have one week in which to submit your entries after which there will be 3 days of voting. This is subject to change depending on how you think it should work.

This time the subject shall be: a magic spell or/and sniffing drugs
Do your best, and make me enjoy this as much as you will!
tHe contest will take place between 4th and 11th of September

So I started a game, and got the script almost done, You don't need to know it yet, BUT, I did all my drawing this far with my tablet, since I'm so keen on it at the moment. I realised colouring with pencil-thingie is easier, but yet leaves it unfinished. So after I cut this off, it looked like this
2x
(yes, it's low res)

Then I went through dozens of painting programs, and decided it doesn't matter if it's on transparent background, so, I modified it a bit, taking out what seemed to be trash pixels, but now I'm undecided if it's good as it is, or should I even go about giving it clear lines and outlines with pixelling. it'd surely look completely different. I haven't done spriteart for a long while, so I've quite lost my touch, anyhow:
2x

So what is there to do, because I don't knowÃ,  :P ???

So here I was again, playing around with my tablet. This time instead of drawing cute bunnies I decided to drawing something else as cute. So, I got this photo from my friend, and tried to paint the photo with the volito 2 pencil. I just love the way this thing works. Even though it seems my pen is starting to wear out, maybe I push too much. Anyway, pencils are my cup of tea.
Ã,  Ã,  Even though my wrist hurts like hell after 3 hours, I'm quite satisfied. I think I got the spirit of her captured in this. Well, must say, drawing people is much harder than drawing bunnies. I reckon, with people, you really have to get the personality show on the face, while with bunnies it doesn't really matter, they're cute anyway. OK, I hope I did her justice :)

If you please, comments are always welcome

EDIT: actually it looks better in the original size, so here be it: http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/664/monaos0.jpg

yeah, I know you all hate me. That's why I'll push it even further. So, most of the grown up looking girls here are 14 or 15. Finnish ones that age look like children, and here they go shooting with no parents. Even I'm almost in love with one of them even though she is only 15 :P So what do you Germans do with the girls to make them so. And I don't mean exaggerated make-up or so, but the forms of the body, it's mature. But unnatural... btw, imo die Deutsche sehen besser aus als die Spanische Mädchens.

Take this as a last excuse to make up a thread and start a conversation, as it's the last few days for me here, and I want to go home and read how you reply :P

OK, even though i think I'm leaving this fucked up country soon, I have bought a wlan card... you know. And I installed the drivers on my computer and the card, and started using it. It finds a net at the beach here, 99% it says, I think that's fairly good. Yet in the desktop there's this icon on the righthand down (don't have time to remember the name for it), and it says the name of it, and that there's no connection. Now I open the program, find the web that's 99% and choose it and press connect... it ticks for a while and then does nothing... I'd sure like to get this working on my laptop snce I did pay 42 euros for it, and now 3 euros for 30 minutes on this computer

Shit I hate this country...

Anyway, I can't tell right now the name of the card, but I have windows 98se, and it should work on it. My guess is I've got some setup wrong somewhere, but who knows...:P

Anyway, I would really appreciate all the help you could give me, and I would appreciate even more if you were available to sms me help since this internet is bloody expensive and I don't have any money left. hm... they say never give your phone number in the internet, but hey, my boss has it, and he's not to be trusted, that much I know:P
Spoiler
+35844637211 that is to Finland, but sms is fairly cheap

thanks all the same

General Discussion / trouble with xp
Sat 08/07/2006 17:28:11
Yeah, I know...

Anyway, my hellos from space... wait, no, Spain :P Anyway, Where the hell is the Y in this keyboard layout. Oh, found it /Edited...

Anyway, I got a laptop from my grandma, and then I went and removed windows 98 se from it... just fro the sake of it, yeah, that and because for some reason when I tried to update to xp with my xp CD it said pdate not possible. Ok, so I thought I'd start over, as in C:/formt C: did a fine job. Then I entered the XP disc in, run the install program, and at this one point it starte asking for my key code... thing, you know. I didn't know if I'd need it, but I had it with me anyway. so I entered it,and it told me the key's not valid.

I don't know if it's because I have it already installed on my computer at home or just because it's bitchy. Anyway, I couldn't even restart the computer, so I ended up taking the battery out. No harm done I guess since there were no files to corrupt. Except... I can't install my XP, but apparently everytime I try to startup, it goes straght to finishing installation, and then gets stuck again. You see, I could start it with a floppy, or from cd/ or from hard drive, from which the two latter give me the installation.

Anyway, i was thinking if this could be fixed somehow, or anyone knew what I could do, or what I did wrong, so I can get to installing my wlan card... I'd use a 98' boot floppy, but how the hell am I ever going to find one at Mallorca. Ok, my dad promised to send me one when I got to Ibiza and get a decent address. Meanwhile I've been searching for a Linux CD/DVD that'd work in startup... I wonder why no magayines have them. AND THIS BLOODY TOWN DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A COMPUTERSHOP... Anyway, I'm running out of paid time on this computer, but I'll be back to check out this thread, so thanks for the advice... Laters.

Sheesh. I never knew it was so hard to hit where you wanted it :) Anyway, I bought this Wacom volito2 (A6) tablet because it was cheap and I needed one ¬¬. Anyway, using it was very fun, and I started thinking. This is the first time I really drew something. Ok, it's done in a rush, a few hours here and there, but I really think I should get oil painting colours and brushes back. Drawing this was fun.

Feel free to comment. I know they're a bit crappy, as I said, it was hard to navigate on the screen and I did it quickly :) They're a bit large, but don't give the page a scroller, so I'll let them be as they are. Let me know if I have to make them smaller...

Hmm, I just realised how crappy that 2nd tree is. haha. Lol it doesn't even look like one... well, who cares ::) :P

General Discussion / Decisions, decisions!
Wed 21/06/2006 21:27:06
Cunningly I took the subject from a soft core pornographic poster I used to have on my wall for a week when I was 14. Anyway, I have a problem that I have created myself, here, in my small head, in my small pointless thoughts. I take you all as my muses here, so be honoured.

Ok, I'll start making sense now. It's summer. Which means lots of time to do nothing and even more time to do something useful, as I am still unemployed, still... So, I have possibilities to do stuff that I want to do, but can't decide or motivate myself to do anything.

So all I want is your help in keeping me in something and not letting me become a bum. I'll grow fat :( I just read an awesome book, Watership Down by Richard Adams. Now I feel like reading lots of books. Then I got this awesome idea. Finally a subject to practise my pencil skills, I shall draw bunnies. But what's the use? Now today I found this awesome page full of writing contests in which you can win money. If I had the patience I could enter, just for fun etc. Or I could work on one of those AGS projects I've got running.

But the problem is, each time I open artgam/take a pen/open openoffice I feel like I'd rather do the other thing. I think I need a hobby, I think I need that job right now, but what about my leisure time, all I do is idling.

What do you do when you face this? Many choises and no internal power to choose the most interesting/useful one... People do have this problem, right? Or is it just an excuse to justify being lazy? Think of it, share it, inspire me, please. I'll draw you a bunny, a nice one. I've got me new pencils and some good quality paper in front of me. I'll even sign it.

Aight, so, here's the deal. I'm going to move to work in Spain for 6 months in 1,5 weeks, ie the 19th of June. I don't want to be selling my computer since I'll only be there for half a year, BUT I can't take it with me, it's too big.

So I came to the conclusion I should buy a laptop of somekind. Now the problem is, I'm in a hurry, don't know anything about laptops etc. I should need one that can handle AGS and have enough room for my photos and some illegal music perhaps. I don't really play games, but I do watch videos etc. Well, just, I need one with internet card, a DVD drive(burning), and the means to do my daily business, you know, the basic.

So I figured, people here know everything, it's such a wide community. I wondered if someone here could give me advice on what sort of a laptop should I look for, or even give me and example. By the Way, it can't cost too much, I'm poor.

So, if this is clear enough please help, if not, please ask. thank you!

Damn straight! And you know what? Not that great superiority isn't enough, WE EVEN BROKE THE ALL TIME RECORD!!!!! So, I guess we just are the best, I'm all emotional here, Finns, continue this, and you jealous people. Feel free to envy us!

I'm speechless. Totally! See for yourself! http://www.purplesensi.co.uk/sensiblesoccer/sensiblesoccer2006/

Incredible! They're making a remake of the best soccer game in the world! see here a video! http://www.eurogamer.net/tv_video.php?playlist_id=263&s=s THey are keeping the awful graphics and this video has awful music. Hmm, I see they also did Cannon Fodder. well the graphics are kind of the same

Guess what I'm playing right now? Indeed:

back in the days, 96-97, the best ever soccer game, made to function only with 5 buttons, yet always staying as the best soccer game in the world, with extreme controls, biggest leagues ever featuring all European leagues + some 2nd divisions, the Northern and Southern American leagues, most Asian leagues and even many African leagues. Real players with their skills, UEFA-cup, Champions league, everything. Even the Finnish veikkausliiga! And an awesome manager mode, better than Champoinship Manage ever was.

I hope this new game will be as good. There's a trend of old games being ruined when they're remade ten years later... We shall see \ :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D/

That's it, endless 3-4 nights, tearfull nights, tired nights I've spent with this. :'( :'( >:( And now I don't know what to do! The problem is this: I'm quite satisfied with the way the kitchen-thing turned out, also, the corridor, but I really couldn't keep up the style to what is mine when I worked on the TV and the chair. I don't know if it's visible or if I haven't given it a good look, but it seems like this thing gets worse the more I draw it. And yet one thing. I have, as my art teacher says always been good with using colours. But, hell, I can't choose one that looks good. Now basically I hate the floor as it is, but I have no idea what to do with it, I mean the basic colour of it, ir what ever it needs.

Here you see my attempt on this livingroom. I've been playing wih the thought of putting a plant or so in the right corner before the doorway, and then in the corridor, I tried a seemingly bad floor-option. :( I was hoping for some comments, and/or advice basically on the colourscheme, and on the artifacts that are not aligned in the 90 degree angle, and don't go to the vanishing point, aka, tv and chair.

Thanks for your time! :)

Hi there. I started wondering... There was this awesome , Australian iirc, sketch show running on tv a few years back here. I used to watch the last few episodes that I ramdomly cought while they were on, and each time I fell off my chair several times. THe program was one of the funniest I've ever seen.

I think it was named after someone's surname, but not sure. It also had this sketch about the program where people challenged their relatives to do something awful, dunno it's name either, a sucky show, but a great sketch of it. Now I was wondering, there is usually at least someone who knows what I'm talking about, so if you could kindly name the show, I'd see to it again, please.

Thanks.

...And go here and press the "karviainen" -link on the paper image here http://www.olvimaku.fi/ . I need to get the rate higher. I suppose you could try this too http://www.olvimaku.fi/?gid=36&gal=4

...
...

Ok, if you really must know, I'm trying the save the world from having to drink lemonade that tastes like Mint or Perry-toffee... ugh, that's awful, and what else? Pineapple-coconut, Orange-cola. No! What we need is Karviais-limsa, and I really need your help in voting this because one can only vote once. What would be better than Gooseberry lemonade? not some bloody perry-toffee, ugh, makes me puke thinking of it.

Thanks for your help, I love you.

And you don't love me, but now there's even alink here so that I wouldn't seem as stupid as I just did  :D

You know what, I was looking for a job today, didn't find any, and the recruitment offices were closed because it's easter, but I found something wonderful:

Dixieland Jazz; This Was the Jazz Age - 10 Cd set, featuring Louis Armstrong, Johnny Dodds, Kid Ory, Sidney Bechet, Clarence Williams, andone you can think of... or at least I can. Anyway, all this was just 9,95 euros = $12 = £6,89!!!! :o :o

So I basically got 10 Cds of best jazz one could ask only 1e each!

Didn't get a job though, so now I'm broke for the month, but so what, I can spend it listening to awesome music! Be happy with me!

Hi, I don't know if this has been brought up, but know some of you use the free Sygate personal firewall as I did and my brother. I went to my broter's last weekend to fix his net connection.

Anyway, what I was supposed to say is that I noticed this thing in the internet: http://www.sygate.com/products/sygate-personal-firewall-pro.htm
QuoteImportant Notice: Effective November 30th, 2005 all Sygate consumer firewall products will be discontinued. For technical assistance with these products, please email SMBSupport@Symantec.com. In addition, the consumer firewall support forum will be available for 60 days per our standard support policy. Note: this end of life only applies to the consumer firewall products and does not affect Sygate's Enterprise firewall and endpoint compliance products, which are still be updated and supported. Thank you and we look forward to assisting you with the wonderful line of Symantec products. Please click here for Symantec Support.

I am not sure if this is the reason, but as I was fixing my brother's computer and connection it appeared, that Sygate was infact blocking all the leaveing files and giving access to all that was coming from the internet. After speaking with the web instructor or what was her name, we came to the solution that the connection would work if we'd shut down the firewall.
Ã,  Ã,  Ã, Now I tried to find the Sygate icon on the desktop, only finding out that it had disappeared. So I went to C:\program files\Sygate and tried to run the main program from there. It wouldn't do anything andÃ,  couldn't find an uninstall file anywhere. I just uninstalled it from the windows program uninstall tool and right after that Ewido anti-malware updated itself.

On my computer just now I'm making a homepage, and downloaded FileZilla to upload my homepage to the server. For some reason it wouldn't connect even though I had all the usernames and paswords correct. Now at #AGS we came to the solution that my firewall might be blocking it. I tried to check out and realized the Sygate icon had disappeared from my desktop as well, and the main program wouldn't run.
Ã,  Ã,  Ã, After I removed it my ewido anti-malware updated itself, and FileZilla was able to connect the server. MY guess is, that Sygate was blocking the new programs because I've had it for a while, and it still let msn and my browsers through whereas Ewido and FileZilla are new programs on my computer.

Why I think that Symantec buying the rights to it makes a difference is, that they do not do it anymore, only make update files for it, and since I was using the free version which had no udate option visible to me, the only chance to keep it up to date was t oremove it and download a new version. Therefore my Sygate was an old version, but it shouldn't have broken up like that.

Consider this as a warning or so if you use Sygate personal firewall, I'd suggest you go and try to run the main program... Now I'm using ZoneAlarm, just to keep it cheap.
