Hello everyone. I know there are great background artists there among you. I would be needing help in the project I've been working on during the last ~6 months. It's a serious, long adventure game about the -06 elections in the Republic of Congo. Mostly based one real facts and events, with a touch of drama here and there, but basically it's a true story. The main character is a reporter making a long full story about the whole situation. I myself make characters/sprites and music. The story is 99,9% ready. My brother used to be the bg artist, but he decided he has not got the time to work on a game of this size right now. It would indeed have, or the goal is to have about 26 rooms altogether. All 320*240 and a whole lot of colours, so no limits there.

here's the character and one bg to indicate the style I'm after:

Now I'd rather do this myself, but I've noticed that I can't really reach the level on bgs that I have on characters and objects, so I thought I'd leave it to better ones if that's possible. Now there's a tiny problem for you, I wouldn't want to reveal the whole plot, not until I've got a GiP thread, ie 2 bgs ready, but if you are interested in sharing the credits, you might try finishing one of those sketched bgs, one of a harbour in Kinshasa and the other a bedroom inside the British embassy. I could then see if it's the style I want. Now I understand if no-oneis willing, or doesn't do it the way I do, I must do it myself, which will be a bit of a problem. However, if interested, at least pm me :) thanks

I think it's close the thing they have in oscar awards. The movies usually aren't very good, but people like them because they're entertaining or something, so they win. I agree I had a great time playing his games through, but ok, they were not any better than most games I've played.

To continue useless posting, the themem is exellent. But as I'm working mornings and have every afternoon booked, well, I'll see if I have time on weekend. I most hope so, I really feel like drawing one, and I need the practise.

Are you insinuating that this video is real?

I mean that it's not relevant if it's a bloody doll or a freaking girl on the video. Either way it's not a ghost.

I actually just use my old thing when this happens. If I get this with drawing, I take my guitar and play, if that tastes bad, I write something. If I can't write anything, I'll read stuff. If I don't feel like reading, I'll draw, if not drawing, then playing guitar etc etc etc. You know there's always inspiration to do something, you just have to find out what it is. That or I hangout at #AGS...

you know, you're thumb covers the both buttons if you hold it in a horizontal position, that way the whole movement is easy to produce. Dude, you were just playing it wrong, TNMT 2 for NES was by far the best turtles game ever.

my aunt has his older brother who is in a bit of a bad shape and on lots of medication, he lost a lot of weight and couldn't walk for a while and lost pretty much all his fur due to thyroid problems, but he's on the mend and is really quite a lucky dog as about 10 years ago he was hit by a car and suffered brain damage.

I'm sorry, but that sounds really scary. THought you were talking about your father until I realised there's this one HIS in the beginning, must be because here we call everything it.

Took me quite a while to realise that neet means neat and not need, and suddenly it started to make sense.

My aunt had to put her collie to sleep because it was too old. It actually refused to. It knew that it was too old, and left. It came back after a few months in hideous condition and they tried to make it feel better, but the next day it was gone again. It wanted to die alone, but mised the family too much, so it came to say goodbye again. I was too small back then I can remember the dog, but not much of how it died...

Our German shepher/collie one had to be put to sleep a few years past also because it was too old. It was saddening, it was so happy always, until the last days. Though wouldn't ever eat anything, it couldn't taste a thing, so it just left stuff untouched and only ate the sausages and stuff. I remember once when this huge mean dog came from far away over the icy lake to barf at people. Our dog kicked its' ass even though it was tied up  >:( :D we buried it in our garden. There's no dog now, they're too lazy to get attached to one, and I moved away long time ago...

Hehe, gotta love it, even though I don't know the show you mentioned. But I think the father did this more to amuse himself than his kids, really, they were just an excuse.

Context: Not happy. Not political.

Two things that count me out.

Anyway, please, more emo stuff, I haven't cried enough.

Well, no-one really wants to play an educational game at home, but at school, it's surprising how much rather they play than listen to teachers mumble and read books. There were quite a few of language ones in the internet while I was that age, we used to do them. Well they were always easy, like move the correct word to the picture and you have all sorts of fruits there. Or crossword puzzles or that stuff. But what they use in schools nowadays... They don't really use computers. Except for writing stuff, at least here. computers are mainly used for research etc. still...

I don't know, but I don't think teaching our kids about difference in sexualities and racism and all that and then not teaching them smoking and drinking is that bad after all. I mean, Tom used to smoke quite a lot. Seriously, in 40's, they wouldn't mention gays on cartoons or tv because they though they were bad, now they won't show cigarettes or booze because they know it's bad. I think in that way they're right.
