And finally someone has a Finnish band that I know \o/

Yeah, bumbing up the favourite thread. I have two videos. THe first one is from a band I pretty much hate. They just won the best Finnish band award, and the name only shows how emo they are, so, here's the video from Poets of the Fall

Then another video from a Finnish prog rock band, Magyar Posse. They're a great band imo, and they just won some awards with this great video.

Why these two? Because I think both hace great music videos, the latter is better of course.

It's a bit dull, the front cover, being such a light level of grey. It does give somewhat the impression that it's ben printed out from a printer with not enough ink. I'm not saying keeping it black and white would make it bad, for example this cover is a great example of a good black and white stuff:

But it's a tad darker, at least in the way, that the level is prety much the same in each part of the pic. See, in yours you can well enough see, that the mask doesn't wuite belong on such a plain bg. So perhaps the bg should be darker. This is my opinion.

Hi, my dad bought this new mobile phone, well, not exactly new, but new for him. Anyway, there is a possibility in connecting it with Linux (he has Suse, the new version) and getting the files fromt here to it and vice versa. Hmm, so he appointed me to find out since I have nothing better to do, so I thought well, maybe someon here knows something about Ericsson phones or Linux in general, of about connecting phones to Linux or whatever information will be useful. While at it, I'll go on googling. Oh, I'll paste a pic of the phone.

Personally I vote very rarely. And I can say if it goes to this you can be quite sure I won't vote at all. Who really has the time and devotion to answer all these and then give something for the people to read?

Cute idea, but doesn't work... sorry, but you can't tell it's P and D is they're the same letter. it's like drawing a big R and saying it's R & P at the same time...

It's again time for em to be conservative, which I don't like to be. But why do we have to get more awards? why do we have to get more ways to vote for competitions. I don't think the awards system is too unmodern or so. I would personally be very happy with the old ones too. So in my opinion, you can vote for new categories like best drawn hair or the angriest puppy in a game, but what's it worth? Is the point that in the end every game maker gets awarded or that 2 makers get awarded 50 times? Dunno, but I'm not going to be here to vote for new ones unless I have to choose good ones from ridiculous ones.

yeah, I like the sound of this. Anyway, skip the mountains idea. It's a good idea, but as we're aiming for a view from a street in Kinshasa, I wouldn't want that there. Doubt no-one would notice but still. I also agree with the author about the tree, but the clouds could be a bit higher. Though that's just a view of ine, I'm not the expert here.

I draw them by hand, actually I mod the one before to look like the second. Copying the torso and moving only legs and hands would make it lok stupid. While you walk, there's hundreds of muscles in your body that work. You don't just stay stiff.

I was there before Vel... I bet a lot of poeple were before me. THe only thing, it doesn't work on Quintessential player. Oh, and once you convert songs to mp3, do it lame, that way it will surely work.

EDIT: Lies a bit though the list, doesn't have my fav bands as I have them on cds, these are the ones from my computer. Oh, and I did this playlist challenge listenin through all the mp3s I have, so that's why...

So what we get is daft characters suitable for kindergarden? sounds great

It's pretty einfach. And you can't actually be told how many frames to use, some prefer less, some more. It's up to you, shjould you want your character to walk very smoothly or a bit rough. Though too many frames can make it look horrible. THere are some stances I repeat in a walking animation.

First the person starting to take a step, the feet are somewhat together, but the tension is visible, the hands start going.

Then the other leg starts reaching forward and the other is left behind a bit, remember, that all the time the hands sway on the opposite sides, when left leg goes back, the right hand goes too.

The third is where the character is stepping down, so basically this is as far as he/she can reach, at this point the toes might not touch the ground. On the other hand, the other leg is stretched backwards and standing on the toes.

And fourth is where the legs are coming back, so basically the weight is on the leg that reached forward at first, while the other gets off the ground in order to move.

After that they're back together, and you repeat the same stuff the other way around.

I'll post images later if you still want. when I draw, I first get the stances, maybe make a plain 4 colour character move smoothly, and then start really drawing it, making those details. So I usually use 8 frames. There are different schools for this, you can also try only 4. Oh, and the more you put them, the more you should consider how much it changes between each frame, because otherwise it might not look so smooth in certain places, because of too big gaps.

The stuff for my frist game that I never had an idea of what it should be about.

THis is a bg for the game, a tree from one bg, and a character + cycles. And a sprite jam entry which for some reason is in .jpg, that was my first... didn't win

That be sprites for a game I still want to do, I guess, a bg for a game that had a really controversial theme, you don't want to know, and a random character to show off at CL, didn't work
Oh, and a Late Nite Butterfly. Ispired by Stickieee, later I composed some jazz to the name, one of the best I've done they say, the song that is.

She's so bloody hot as long as you don't have to listen to that accent.
