Hi all. I need an image to build a construction on. THis would mean, that I am lacking creativity at the moment, and I need to get a quality castle-front wiev. This (1.) medieval castle would consist of (2.) a wall (of course) with (3.) a huge gateway in it, (4.) two towers on each sides of the door, not too close though. in the inner yard there would be a wooden door directly from the gateway, and a couple of holewindows.(but these I wish to do myself)
   (5.) A dull grey wall o'bricks... the most appreciated thing would be to make it look grandiloquent. Now I don't demand much, but if you happen to get interested, I will take every picture for serious enough and grant you your glory. I'm not setting up a competition, I only need some help. (a muse or something)

Oh yeah, almost forgot: the game I'm working on would be in lo-res, (look at the classics MI1-2 and so on...) under these aspects I'll give you free hands if keen on trying out. Who knows, it might be fun... meanwhile I'll be working on the village....... thanks already. Oh, you can e-mail me or use msn whatever feels better:) (or just PM)

Is this a common thing with ags 2.7? I can't export nor import GUIs at all. could it be somewhere in settings... anyway, it'd help if I could. this might not in some cases be a global bug report as I don't really know if it is a bug... but to inform you, and to help myself...

That's right, I really can't get anything out of it, so here's what I will be doing:

I will use my time as a hc-noob and really learn scripting step by step, as it will take years...

Then I will make notes all the time. Ones that are possible for a human being to understand. With the notes I make I'll create a tutorial which will explain what variables or such mean in English, and Finnish too. I will explain why, not how...
"Why does this command work?" that would be because:
"it is the one mentioned in the tutorial"       or maybe:
"because all these parts in it mean things such as... and they cause... (which will be explained) to do what will be explained..."

Sounds pretty nice, eh? I'd like that, as I'm one of those who need hand to hand advice even just to understand how to play a loop. No offence, but I can't get into those existing scripting tutorials. So in a year or two there will be a new "bible" for the common man:)

How do you like the sound of that? (phew, I just don't get scripting, nor the logic in it)

you said the tree was made with ms paint. don't take it hard, but to me it's the best part of the modified picture, IC... That's just the reason why I personally prefer mspaint to for example ArtGem.

There's the fact that I happen to like the old time graphics that are characteristic for (good)adventure games, (meaning the classics). And as the other style I find more like a picture that doesn't either look funny, realistic, interesting or impressing. More likely, I try to avoid games that really look like they're drawn with computer without even trying to draw a line first... It's not as attractive as pictures drawn pixel by pixel, and not as convincing as real pictures.

Don't tak eit personally, and the lot of you who do that, but to me it feels more like a cheap shortcut... Well I happen to appreciate works with effort put to them... ( this would not only mean the one presented later on this topic, but the majority of those you see in ganes and in this forum more and more often)... Well, there you all go! ;D

MUSICAL HELP
Ã,  MEans I do Midi and audio(mp3 then) for my own pleasure, and am quite good at it (according to my opinion that is:)) Ah, so... i can make up somewhat classical pieces arrainged for guitar and/or flute. To talk about midis, I guess anything goes ;)

Ã,  Well, I do my own too. rather pretty if I may, but I must warn you, I'm not very keen on anything with more pixels that those original 320X240. They just don't look as convincing to me...

Ã,  To this goes pretty much the same than the above... and as it's summer, I ought to have more than enough leisure time to serve your needs.

But don't ask me to do script... if there's one thing I can't get a hang of, it's scripting. Done it for a year though...Ã,  ;D ;D

Apparently I can't give any examples at the moment, unless by e-mail or MSN Messenger....

EEHM! Not to forget, I also do voice acting nowadays, thanks to my father who bought a microphone... check the block on the side

Agh, I'm pretty much getting tired of this drill... Apparently I'm either stupid or just ofr some coinsidence didn't get what you ment, but I can't get that flaming submarine anywhere. Now, how do you even turn it? I can move it
1)upwards-downwards
2)forwards-backwards and with varieting speed.
Might it be the off the edge turnings you ment, where the sub goes out of the screen and comes the other way ahead back?.. That's the only way I can figure out the turning...

I Just find them balloon-submarine controlling scenes so irritating... if you ever make games, con't do such things please...

Oh yeah, the problem... If anyone ever has gone past the submarine scene, I need some advice, since I can't find any kind of dock in thgat stupid ocean. And I've been whirling about the bottom of the ocean for weeks now, there goes my patience. Just what does it look like? THe stupid submarine only goes behind all the hills.... Please anybody?

Here goes: I've locked stan in the coffin and got the key already, I also have the book I need. The problem lies here: I know I have to read the quotes on the coffins, but the cursos does not react to anything but the coffin in which Stan is. So I wonder, how am I supposed to read the quotes if there are no hotspots in the room????

Having got this far I'd not wish to buy another version and to start all over again.

One thing you should never do is such as in Heimdall II, where the character was supposed to keep on walking against a wall which drains you r energy. NOw who would have thought that was the only way to get forward in the game. I mean, come on! You're not supposed to think of getting yourself killed!!!!! I got through it only by frustration. After a week in the same spot I ended up quitting myself with harmful aggression.

The best one I know is the legendary puzzle in Monkey Island I where Guybrush is thrown into the water with (was it an anchor ) tied onto him:D

It took me quite a while drawing this background of mine with the lousy old "PAINT" in which I'm so keen on!

Yes, indeed it was drawn pixel by pixel... propably not the best (or the least frustrating ) way, but I like my work. In all it's simplicity, I mean.

So, if you will. What do ya all reckon?

Oh, so it appears, I have no idea how to place it here :-[ Mmheeh ???. Uh, I better try and learn these things. youaa, how  does one delete this? Bugger!

Yeah, okay I think I got it! Thanking you :) The code up there worked all right, and I'm currently trying to make the guy fall faster, having increased and degreased all places I find the word "speed" or "delay"... perhaps I'll get it soon, perhaps not 8)

Oh Yeah, the...a..."edit script" in the room editor... Yep, I got it... so... is it then... when I want my Char. to do something, I define it trough the room-script-editor-thing?

I've finally come to the stage, where I'm a "Can't do that without using script-newbie", and I cant get my character act the way I want to. He should do this sleeping movement for a while, until my character falls into the room. Tha Problem is, I don't know where to start, and I don't get the "help".  If anyone could give me some hand-to-hand advice? ???
