Today is my birthday. Yay me!

Someone probably already asked this question before but what the hey. By mainstream games, I am talking about the games that we see and hear about all the time. (PC, PS3, X-Box 360, etc.)

I think some of it is fun while others are overrated.

For FPS shooters, I think Halo is very overrated when I tried it. I used to like Call of Duty but I think it got boring when I played S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. Stalker was more challenging since the gun ballistics were more like that of real-life. You can learn how to shoot a gun in that game.

I also like the Civilization series. Sim City is fun too.

Grand Theft Auto can be enjoyable but I still think it is overrated.

For RTS games, I like Starcraft 2. I used to like Command and Conquer more before EA Games ruined it. In addition, I like the Dawn of War series (based on the Warhammer 40K sci-fi story). Dawn of War 2 had an interesting way of combining RPG elements into a RTS game.

As for RPGs, I like Fallout and Arcanum. It is a shame they never released a sequel (or at least an expansion) for Arcanum.

So why do you think online forums attract few females?
It seems that creeps always say "Pics Now" or "t*** or gtfo" whenever a poster admits to being a female. ::)

However, I think adventure games have a larger female fan base. What do you guys think about the portrayal of women in games?

I remember my brother played an adventure game on the Nintendo 64. That was probably the first time I saw an adventure game. As for AGS, I was told about it by someone who posts here.

One of the things I like about adventure games is they are more likely to have an interesting story since the story is the main focus. A lot of mainstream games are being taken over by big business so the quality in the story and the voice acting has gone down. However, I still have a weakness for shooting and blowing stuff up in video/computer games.

I just played this game and I liked it. As a fan of Stargate, I can say the dialog seems accurate for the characters. The characters' faces looked accurate even though they looked kind of funny. I meant that in the good way. :) Puzzles weren't that hard but were interesting. Finally, the artwork looked real compared to other games.

If possible, you should get the cast from the TV show to do the voices. All three TV shows of Stargate (SG-1, Atlantis, Universe) are no longer making episodes.

Yes, well I'm not a native speaker so that's why I chose skill. It is supposed to represent how skilful or handy you are. Handicraft, knack, handiness? I don't know which to choose.

What type of skills are covered in "skill"? On the level up screen, it says the following when you click on skill, "How skillful are you? Can you pick a lock easily?"

Does skill only cover lock picking? If so, you could just rename "skill" to "lock picking."

If there are several different skills involved, you could use the word "intelligence." The description for intelligence could be the following:
"How good are you at solving problems? For example, can you pick a lock easily?"

For "personality," you can rename it to "charisma."

So far, I haven't encountered any bugs or errors in the game. Like other people have said, the game reminds me of Fallout. I like the background sounds like the wind and flowing water.

I don't know if it's because this is the beta version of the game but my character does not die when his health drops to zero.

During the battles, I notice that the health for both your character and your enemy updates at the beginning of your next turn. Perhaps it is better for the enemy's health to update right after you attack rather than after the enemy attacks you.

I can test this game if you still need testers. The combat system looks interesting.

agreed
When I see the word "Epic," I think of the following things:
1. a large-scale battlefield
2. heroism and self-sacrifice
3. the vastness of space

The sci-fi story, Warhammer 40K, and the heavy metal band, Iced Earth, come to mind.

Like a lot of people have said, a lot of comedy movies today use cheap humor. It seems that saying the name of a sexual organ is enough to get people to laugh these days. Eggie's post offered some good suggestions.

However, I will have to see some plot to be able to offer any input on your idea.

all right
I just started playing the game and I think there might be a bug.

Spoiler below, select the area to read the text
QuoteIt is the same one that fred mentioned. I did not encounter that error when I played as Callisto until I talked to Azure for the second time. By "second time," I mean I clicked on Azure right after I exited the conversation. Julie had that problem when I talked to Azure for the first time.

So far, I like the music and the artwork.

Thank you for your offer. Could you please pick a character you like, record three sample lines, and PM them to me? You're welcome to do audition for multiple characters if you want.

To the other voice actors so far: thank you for volunteering to help! Unfortunately we don't have enough female submissions yet to actually make a voice pack. So if you have friends or family who are willing to help, please refer them to us.

all right
I will do that.

As for females, I know someone who is interested in AGS. I sent her an email.

Is this a side-scrolling game? I loved those games. They were common on the Super Nintendo.
I am interested in testing your game.

I know the game has enough male voice actors but I will go ahead and offer my services. My regular voice is deep and I can do a number of other voices.

AGS Games in Production / Re: TROICA

That is some nice artwork you got there. I also like the idea of telling the same story in different ways.

How far are you guys into the project?

Hello,

This is the first AGS game that I have played so far. I was told about this game by Que who was the voice for Morganatic. After playing the game for some time, I will say that I like the voice acting. The rat's sarcasm is funny. ;D I will admit that I have a fascination with stories where a charming guy has to save a good woman from some type of calamity.

However, I am stuck and I am not sure what I am supposed to do with the wand. I mainly hear him say "no effect" or "I need to improve." ???
