When the mouse is over a dialog option, the highlighting colour is yellow.
I noticed that it is possible to change the colour if you use a text window instead of a normal GUI, but text windows are always centered.

What I'd like are my dialog options at the bottom of the screen, but with a different colour for the item which the mouse is over.

Is there any variable I have missed or is this simply not doable? (without making my own dialog system)

Critics' Lounge / Help screen
Fri 12/09/2008 01:42:04
Hey y'all. I've been working on a help screen to go with my game.
I was going for a loose & chaotic look. But is it funny chaotic or confusingly chaotic?

If you click the button in the top-right you'll get the next screen:

The coloured lines are meant to resemble a marker pen.
I've been told my choice of colours is generally bad, so if you could tell me what you think about them, it'd be real helpful.
(Also, any criticism about my custom-coloured LucasArts style GUI is also welcome.)

Hm, I got this error on startup (see below).
And I have been able to reproduce it:  I started up AGS, minimized it and then ran something in full screen in WinXP (in my case ScummVM).
I shut down AGS while it is still minimized (by rightclicking it on the taskbar).
Then I get this error when opening AGS again:

Error: SplitterDistance must be between Panel1MinSize and Width - Panel2MinSize.
Version: AGS 3.0.2.43

Last time winner Bartimeus was unable to host, and number two Jens couldn't be reached, so Viking ended up with me (barely number three).

The theme this time is Erotic !

My eyes were fixed on her the moment she walked into my office, all feminine and full of curves.
She had eyes you could drown in, legs you'd like to suck on for a while and a bra that was struggling under its load.
With a dark, seductive voice, she said: "You must be Mr.Bogard?"
"Please," I said, "call me Horny. Um...I mean Johnny."

Write some sensual music that would go well with the scene above.
No limit on the length.

What I want is a button on a gui which can be clicked even when a dialog is being run.
Anybody know if this is possible while still using the dialog system?

Ok, there's a game I've played years ago, which I'd like to find again.

Unfortunately, I can't remember much about it.

It was a first person adventure game. And think it was from 1991-1993. I don't think there was an inventory, and it probably was 256 colours (or 16 colours but really tastefully done).
It wasn't futuristic, though it might have been in some near-future dystopia.

You're a detective and there's been a murder in a bar. I remember a talk with a police officer who didn't like you. By talking to people you get clues (dialogs are presented in the same way AGS / LucasArts does).
To proceed in the game you have to question all the characters about the other characters by typing single words in an input box, usually a last name or the name of a place. The game doesn't remember these clues so you have to write them down. I remember jotting down 2 A4-sized papers full of notes.
I think one of the important clues was the word OVERKILL or some word ending on KILL which was a secret government project or something like that.

Looking on Home of the Underdogs I found a game called J.B. Harold in: Murder Club which bears a lot of similarity to it, but it's not the same game.

Ok, I know this wasn't a lot of information, to put it mildly, and I'm probably clutching on to straws, but does anyone have a clue what this game could be?
