I'm a sucker for well-written children's stories like Winnie-the-Pooh, Wind in the Willows and Alice in Wonderland, so my vote goes to Tuomas, also because it was the better story.

Great game; really like the PQ1-style driving section. There really should be more games with something like that.

The only thing that bugs me is that there's no walking cursor, so you need the keyboard to make him walk.
#143
It has it's own palette.
#144
Inno Setup is also a good one.
#145
Haha, I'm always very careful not to make typos, so it was the first thing I noticed.

Time's up! I'm glad everyone liked the theme.

Let's reveal the contestants:

  • Erotic by Lionmonkey
  • Dangerous Seduction by Nyu001
  • Please I Said by Hofmeier
  • Lola by djres
  • Moment of Delight by TheMagician

I'm proud to announce the winners:

In Third Place, djres with his entry Lola

In Second Place, hofmeier with Please I Said

But in a definite tie for the First Place, Nyu001 and TheMagician!

And a big honorary mention to the beautiful (and slightly sleazy  :=) Erotic by Lionmonkey.

Nyu001 and TheMagician, you'll have to host the next one!

Wow. Sounds excactly exactly what I want to make, but never have done. I'm intrigued.
#148
I whipped up something stupid last minute to battle Tuomas for the first place ;)

Oh man! You should have given a time zone... =' [

I did: GMT 0:00.  GMT=Greenwich Mean Time. It's the time the forum shows when you're not logged in. Or you could have checked the time on the post where I said there was 12 hours left to work it out. Or you could have asked me to prolong the competition.

Whatever; the synopsis of my opinion is still that it's all stupid. ^_^
Isn't that what boys do? Make pointless lists of everything? I should know, I make them all the time ;)

But what the hey, I might have said it before in this thread, and I still think "Get Down Lover" by the Blues Explosion kicks ass.

Quote from: Questionable on Sun 13/07/2008 22:21:49Can one person have more than one entry?

Sure, you can, but not anymore! Entering's off, voting's on!
We had two last minute entries making the grand total 5. Check the links in the first post and vote!

How to vote:

  • You post your top three of tunes, with #1 being the one you think conveys the mood of the story best.

After two days, I'll announce the winners.
#152
And we have a third entry, which takes advantage of me not setting a limit on the length...

There's still time people!
#153
A second track has been added to the list!

Hm, only two entries isn't much of a contest. If anyone asks (by PM or reply) I can prolong the competition, else it ends in 12 hours...

Also: With only two entries, does anybody mind if I choose the winners instead of voting? Your thoughts please.
Decided to stick with voting anyways...

First entry! (check the first post for the link)

Now, are you just going to let this person walk away with the first prize? Of course you're not! ;)

General Discussion / Re: ArtGem.

ArtGem has layers, so for a free program it's excellent.

I use GraphicsGale for making animations, it's really great for that.

In LSL5 you can pick up a can of steaming hot java...

(Although to be fair, once you pick it up you go straight to a cut-scene where you lose it again, so you never actually can do anything with it.)

In Zak McCracken you can buy one at the shop.
#157
Finally, I made some trophies!

Only four days left... don't make me take those trophies home again ;)
#158
Are the colours of the fire used in the background, or only in the palette?

If not, you could try adding them to the background picture (just 1 pixel of each, somewhere where there will be a GUI so people don't see it)
#159
Have you tried running the game? Sometimes colours look wrong in the editor, but are right in the game itself.

Also, sometimes after I add colours to the palette, the editor doesn't show the right colours until I shut down the editor and restart it.
#160
Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying.
