Having followed this with great interest, I say: "Three cheers for common sense!"

Going slightly off-topic, has anyone noticed you can download and play "Davy Jones C'est Mort" without being warned about it's content?
To quote SSH: "Of course, the whole thing was probably just a publicity stunt to try and kick-start RON." I see the next debate coming ;)

Ogg of course.
#223
The only I said about it in the first round was "Everyone gets two votes".
#224
I feel strongly that non-entrants shouldn't be excluded from the voting.
#225
Thanks for the votes guys! And such a beautiful trophy as well. (If only I hadn't voted, I wouldn't have to share it... ;))

It's Visible you need.

You need to be aware that objects on the screen are different from inventory items.

The solution to your problem would be to make an inventory item which is only the sign.
When the user interacts with the sign you remove the sign and add the sign to his/her inventory:

Code: ags
oSign.Visible = false;
player.AddInventory(iSign);

oSign is the object in the room and iSign is the inventory item.

Congrats guys on finishing this huge project!

The 'search on genre'  option is a great addition, and the independent rating a very very welcome new feature.
(And thanks for the generous rating of my game ;))

Well, we voters seem to be on the same wavelength in two categories.

Theme #6 Rurbuncle Forest
Mood #1 Rurbuncle - soft piano and strings
Loop #2 Rurbuncle Melancholy

Some remarks:

#1 RURBUNCLE - SOFT PIANO AND STRINGS
Like really beautiful film music.

#2 RURBUNCLE MELANCHOLY
Very Brian Eno-ish, which isn't a good thing. Didn't like the static sounds in the middle, but the 'mic noises' at the beginning are cool.

#3 FLOWER IN THE SWAMP
Too much hiss!  I liked this one best, but it evokes a southern swamp rather than a melancholy scene.

#4 DISHARMONY
Too futuristic, but very well produced. (except for those bells on 0:49, they are distorting because they're too loud)

#5
Like Viking I also liked the folksy feel.

#6
Very good, magnificent build-up, only thing I disliked is the high speed, because something slower would suit the scene better.

I don't think it's accurate to say they are losing money, but rather just not making what they imagine they could if they had total control.  Losing money implies that the internet is damaged and needs fixing; wanting more money implies something else entirely.

What I meant was that the people at the top want to internet to be more controlled so they can put a stop to illegal file sharing.
(From their point of view they're losing money.)

The same thing happened with radio: in the 1920's / 1930's the airwaves were free and there were millions of amateur broadcaster. Then under pressure from the music industry that was banned and only a few channels were allowed. It's all about license money and royalties.

The industry is bound to try something like it with the internet since they're losing bucketloads of money from it.
I don't know how difficult or easy it'll be to be a 'pirate' in such a system, but they will try to put internet on a leash.

My problem is my fuzzy mind which is constantly trying to get me to add new ideas, prohibiting me of ever finishing game. And the fact that halfway through I get convinced my idea is a load of... well, you get the point.

My remedies are deadlines (MAGS) and blogging about it (so I can tell myself that people are impatiently expecting my game ;))

But seriously, no one sets the deadline but you. Just work on it, when it's finished, it's finished.

Better, but his legs are too high when they're to the back.

If you can draw things like that hi-res sprite, why not use that style for your game? It's gorgeous.

You could say a lot about it, but it's an entry:

Meet SpecialMan and his trusty sidekick She-Boy

EDIT: Um... how this team works. Well, since he's a grown man wearing a spandex suit and a daiper, She-Boy is SpecialMans nanny. A running gag in the series is that he boasts about kicking ass while she actually does it.
(I wonder what Frederick Wertham would think of this.)

(I'd better explain this She-Boy before anyone says anything: she's meant as a satire on how female comic characters are called: always by making a female version of a male name: Superwoman, She-Hulk, Spiderwoman, etc.)

If you use
Code: ags

cCharacter.Baseline = 480;

the character cCharacter will be drawn in front of everything.

Put this line of code in game_start or in room_Load(). It works on my computer (ok, not the best of argument, I know), I'm using AGS 3.0 btw.
#236
The other way round: character.Baseline = 200;  (presuming you use 320x200)
#237
I think you'll have to select LITE as your account type. I don't have a credit card and I have an account there.
#238
You don't have to use Box.net and you can sign up for free.
#239
Really? Wow! I knew DOD made good stuff (had a delay of theirs once) but this is just amazing.

Sounds pretty good. Very well produced, actually. (Maybe could use a little reverb on the drumsample.)

Is take it that's you playing guitar? What equipment are you using?
