This past Christmas Eve as Santa used his magic dust to fly back up a chimney, some accidentally fell on a Christmas stocking hanging on the fireplace. So as Saint Nick flew up to the roof, he was soon followed by the stocking which had come to life with a little boy's toy boat still in tow. The stocking might have caught up with Santa and even have made it to the North Pole if it hadn't flown too low and ran into some bushes, which left it with a thorn lodged near it's arch, making it impossible for it to get a good jump off the ground to fly high altitudes. It's been flapping it's magical wings ever since flying slowly north barely hovering above ground. Poor poor little stocking  :( ... Santa should really be more careful smh.

I too am more than ready for a new comp to participate in, and although in the only entrants animation of "water" none actually moves, let's just move on already

... Or maybe that's what they're waiting on, and all who want to see a new comp should just do a quick actual water animation today, and someone can start a new comp soon after lol. IDK, but let's get it on somehow pleease  ;D.

I am eager to start doing animation comps again, but i guess I liked the idea that sprites were given in the past since I personally can't draw well, and even if I created other objects around the sprite given, I still had something to go off of... but given the somewhat ease of topic I'll do my best to create a decent entry  ;D

Maybe I need some eye glasses, but where is the actual outline Ghost?
#45
What's going on with this comp? It's my fav  ;D

Lyaer, wonderful entry and a great way to encourage better kid hygiene practices. That’s definitely something I would hope to see Santa do everyday lol. I look forward to the start of your comp.

Yaaaaaay after much holiday to do and internet issues galore, I can finally announce the Winners!!!

IndieBoy: 1st
I love the moon boots, and I know some child was happy to get them in their very own starlit sky box. They're just so darn cute.

Mr. Suit: 2nd
I must admit the bird was a little weird, but hey that’s what happens when cranky elves forget to put holes in the box and the bird is short on oxygen. Some little boy will think it’s the coolest gift ever due to the mutation though, so it’s ok.

Stupot: 3rd
Wow it’s the photo any real paparazzi would want. To be the first and only to catch Santa in the act would make history lol.

Brentimous: Honorable Mention
Great idea. Let’s send those bad Christmas wrecking elves off into space.

Domino: Honorable Mention
I absolutely love Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and I’ll always be a kid at heart so free entry to any Disney park would be great.

*I love creativity and you all showed it so thanks.  ;D *

A Christmas Wish

Download Here > A Christmas Wish

Well I took on the task of taking care of six of my nieces and nephews this past week(got to love the holidays) and so I have failed once again to complete an entry, but I learned alot about AGS from this experience... mainly that I should have stayed with 2.72 and left 3.1 alone lol... at least until I learn the program better, but I guess I'm posting this to show that I did attempt to do something. The few puzzles I did complete aren't even in this file because I couldn't tie up some loose ends... o well better luck next time.

I too would appreciate some more time  to somewhat complete my sad little game lol. To add an additional 24 hours to the original deadline would probably do the trick, but I'll take whatever is given. ;D.

- I guess no one likes my sad little santa, reindeer, and sleigh.
- If anyone wants more time please let me know, but I guess I'll extend it a little anyway since it's the holidays.
- Also, you can resize the images like the Santa so he can fit into the sleigh because I didn't really test to see if he could fit the way he is.

Sure I'll extend the deadline until the 26th. I knew around the holidays people would be busy anyway... well at least I am, so that will give me more time to get some things together.

Just something I wanted to post lol. I guess Stewie has been suspect for a while though.

See Santa

I’m continuing with my holiday themes. So in this competition I want you to simply show me something you would see Santa doing if you visited him at the North Pole, whether it’s eating cookies and drinking milk, loading and/or driving his sleigh, feeding the reindeer, or doing a jolly ol laugh.

You must use the Santa sprite, as it is the main one, but I’ve included other sprites you may use if you choose to. You can create any other objects of your own to use with Santa. A side view of Santa and his sleigh are here to help those who want to use the sleigh or do something else requiring a side view. Also, the reindeer sprite can be multiplied if desired. I encourage people with all skill levels in animating to participate, I personally think this competition helps make you better.

Rules:
A sprite is supplied, with a theme.
Participants must use the given sprite for their animation.
The starter of each competition will decide on the winner.
The winner, who will decide on the next competition's theme, must also supply a sprite.

*My apologies for the delay in starting the comp, I got busy celebrating my birthday this past weekend ;D.

Thank you very much abstauber. I knew you would have a tough decision because Blues animation was great, very funny and it ran smoothly, whereas I know I skipped some frames and such even though I had more items in my case and therefore more story. I am still learning alot about animating and that's why I love this comp. It is still hard for me to decide where and when to add frames sometimes, and how to time them. Anyhow, look out for the next comp very soon.

P.S. Love the trophies and how you combined the pink case symbolizing how girls rule(lol) and still implemented the placement with the flowers, the best of both worlds  ;D

In the spirit of the holidays I thought we’d visit Santa’s workshop and see what’s going on there…

Apparently the elves think they are overworked and underpaid so they went on strike and have stopped making and wrapping presents for the good little boys and girls. You have decided to help Santa and save Christmas. Show me what you made in the workshop or the final wrapped gift.

Rules:
To specify, I want to see a toy or some type of present for a child, or a gift box covered with wrapping paper you designed & or other decorative items.
You may rotate the image, but not scale it.
You can not alter the shape of the outline.
No colour limit.
A background is not necessary, but a peek at Santa’s workshop could be nice.

*Anything pertaining to Christmas will be excepted now.*

***I will be going in my sack of goodies and giving presents to those who show the best work, so let’s not disappoint little children all around the world :) ***

Wow thanks Blue. I guess my seemingly wasted time on that ship wasn't so wasted after all lol. Now on to creating something for the next CB...

O & thanks for the luck Domino, I need it. ;D

Well, here’s my entry finally. I actually did most of this right after the rules were posted, but I just got around to finishing it, or getting it as close to finished as I was going to lol. I know it’s a lot to look at between the text and animation, so you probably won’t catch it all in one viewing, but hey you can sit here on the AGS forum and watch it all day if you’d like :).

Also to touch on the whole female entries comment, I myself, yes a woman, have entered 3 animation competitions this year alone not including others in the past, so when you said that, I had to enter this one since we(women) were being called out I guess. Anyway it gave me an excuse to enter since I haven’t in a while, and I had fun as usual. I of course hope to be considered for 1st through 3rd place, and not just the girl prize, but I’ll take that one too ;) ... if no other girl enters and prevails that is *hee hee hee*.

***Note to others besides Blue: make some quick, yet nice, entries people so abstauber can give all of his wonderful trophies away…pleeeease with extra sugar on top, it’s my holiday wish. I love this comp ;D.***

You just moved to this city and you end up walking to a local park you have yet to visit. You find the bottle laying on someone's abandoned picnic blanket. When you pick it up you see some object inside is covered by water. You tilt the bottle to move the water and view what's inside. It's a ship in a bottle, under water, as if it sunk.

Here's my entry:

In my fridge I found part of a burger meal left over from the previous day's lunch. The plate has half a cheeseburger topped with onion rings, a few remaining potato wedges, lettuce, tomato, and pickles on the side, and some condiments: ketchup and mayonnaise.

*I wanted to show my entry without the outline because I think it looks better that way, but I included the one with it in case it’s hard to tell that I used the entire outline without altering it.*
