what version are you on cass?  i cant see any sapling/tree option under that menu sequence,  is it an un-activated add on?

and perhaps selmiak can rename the title of this thread to 3D modeling or something?,   its not been very active in a while so i guess opening it up to any 3d software seems sensible, i dunno
I wont be able to post all the time though, but any time i do something ill try to remember to post here too, working on some stuff atm anyway.

thats awesome tree mouth of war, well done

the branches do look slightly unnatural i might agree with cass , on the other hand i guess you can stylize a tree so many ways these days
also i had no idea blender had a tree generator are you sure?

Well look who it is! , some old friends popped in to say hello! :)

3D Diorama recreating characters featured in Robolovers from MAGS way back in summer 2017

Here are more details on the game and some the images I used as reference:

You can explore the model over at Sketchfab.
Dont forget you can use your mouse and scroll wheel to explore and zoom, double clicking on an area will focus the camera, also give the textures a few moments to fully load,    thanks also to BRANE for the music

What a summer that was!!   and thank you once again to BRANE for working with me and all the feedback and encouragement from AGS community

Another modeling / abstract exercise. The idea here is a little bit off because unfortunately sketchfab only allows you 1degree FOV on camera,  not the 0degress i needed, unfortunately the illusion breaks if you start to zoom in

Hi, Lovely to see all your works here, and seeing you guys develop over time has partly inspired me to start to learn blender finally after putting it off for so many years.

Here are a few things I have been doing:  (Click the images to see non-pixelated originals)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was my first proper exercise with blender, Its a futuristic sort of craft of some sort, and was mainly me learning the modeling tools in blender. Its not complete so I need to get back to this and add more detailing, and perhaps texture it too.

:-D You can check this out over on sketchfab:
https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/work-in-progress-v-14-7ce343aff28d43d68b247c4dcbeaf890

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well this was an abstract modeling exercise, just a ball, but I also learnt how to use a bunch of sketchfabs many options to try present it nicely.

:-D You can check this out over on sketchfab:
https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/ball-a9129483b3ca4d79b26fd749f7792001

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is is an abstract animation sequence that could be used in a vfx / vdj context, and is based on the ball I already made. Here I place the camera inside the ball and exaggerate the cameras perspective, gave the ball a 2 axial rotation twist loop, and worked a lot on sketchfabs lighting, shading and post process options to try get that trippy/dreamy feel I had intended. I just popped a random ambient sort of sound effect to it to.
Unfortunately I only have a free sketchfab account which means I can access features like locking the camera which prevents the user from moving the camera. For this animation the camera is placed in a very specific location with specific focus and dof ranges, so the animation loop is intended to be seen as the camera is when you first start to play it, but you can move the camera around and explore other interesting angles yourself anyway.

I will try post some more as im learning :)
And please keep up all the blending you guys!! its such a delight to see :)

hi folks, i wasn't sure if anyone was interested in this so i thought to pass it on to someone else as I am not sure how the time limit on theses sorts of keys work and when/if they exprire.
If/when I do come across any more keys I think might be more suitable I will make sure to offer them as incentive/prizes for future mags.

Anyhoo well done , the lot of you!  keep up the fantastic work and dedication!

Well done Intense Degree well deserved!

Also fantastic job to everyone else too,  this was a close one for sure!

I totally forgot about this contest, Intense Degree if you are still interested in that 3 Month Xbox Game Pass for PC, don't hesitate to claim it. Otherwise I can still offer it to roll over onto next months MAGS, though I am not sure how long this key takes to expire, but anyhoo, give me a shout if your still interested , and super well done again everyone!

I am offering a 3 Month Xbox Game Pass for PC to the winner of Aprils MAGS.
The pass will let you play any of the games listed here https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-game-pass/games?=pcgames for an unlimited number of times within a 3 month period.

If the winner is not interested in the key they might consider rolling the prize over for the next MAGS.

From now on any keys that are given to me I will consider offering as a prize for MAGS jams.

Best of luck to all you April MAGS'sters

re: drummers , some great posts there form you guys!

I should probably post this in what grinds my gears, but as it relates to something you just mentioned and it being somewhat relative i will mention it here.

Like so many other folks, ive been a huge music fan all my life and one thing throughout that time that has bugged me is the lack of any significant recognition to the drummer.

To me the drummer is as important as any other element in a band if not more so,  they are the conductors in a conductorless group, they are the rhythm makers, the time keepers, they endure the most physical work, they are pushed to the background in more ways then one, yet through modern music history their names, skills and achievements are so often last to be recognized and respected.

Respect and thanks going out to all the forgotten rhythm gurus out there in time and space

Hi, Sorry for not posting in a while, I wasn't sure whether to do this on account of the current global crisis and the appropriateness of my proposal but I after some thought I decided to dust down this Fotoshop Friday thread and open it up to anyone at any time to post any humorous photoshops's making light of the current crisis. For obvious reasons its important to keep all your entries in reasonably good taste, not potentially controversial and generalistic. Although I think there is some relief to be had in making light of all this please remember that there is a real crisis unfolding that is effecting real people so please consider that with your entries.

If anyone feels making light of the situation no matter how generalistic and considerate entries are,  is inappropriate then I will stop the subject theme and ask others to discontinue to post anything related and delete any already posted entries.

Some aspects to think of while thinking about your photoshops: toilet roll, hand sanitizer, social distancing, lock downs, supermarket chaos, elbow bumping, dog walking and so on

There is no time limit, post as many and at any time, no voting required

Well, to get the ball rolling here are a few I made earlier,  yes I know the toilet roll theme is wearing thin at this stage but most of these where made a couple a weeks ago or so when it was still relatively fresh
