Exsqueeze me? Baking powder? Did you just imply that I haven't seen Wayne's World?

Shyea right, and monkeys might fly out of my butt.

In other news, I'm officially announcing my suggestion for our next cover: Baba O'Riley.
Based on the fact that everybody seems to like it. And nobody seems to like Cream. :(

Also, we'd very much like a drummer, please.

Well since we all will probably vote for the songs we already suggested at first meeting, why not do all of them?
Because I can't remember what they were.

I'm super amped to hear your guy's version of Comfortably Numb. Floyd is one of my favourite bands ever... EVER.

Hurry up and finish it :D
If you can't wait, I've uploaded a rough mix here. Noa's vocals are particularly good.

So... where am I supposed to be right now?

See, I do believe much of what he preached later in his life to be admirable, and his advocacy of passive resistance, for example, directly inspired the likes of Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela, who themselves have similarly inspired countless others. But that doesn't mean he should be revered as some kind of infallible demigod. As I said before, give people both sides of the story and let them decide for themselves whether he is worthy of their respect, don't just tell them that he is. After all, everyone's perfect, if you ignore the parts of them that aren't.

Thanks Ultra Magnus :)
I've never heard of Lacuna Coil but I'll look them up.
I was thinking along the lines of "This is My Dream" off of their debut EP.
I'm not too familiar with anything they've done since their first album (except for that one track that was in Guitar Hero), so while some of their more recent stuff might still sound like that, don't blame me if it doesn't. :)

This might sound creepy and kinky, but can I watch rehearsals?
You say "creepy and kinky" almost like it's a bad thing.

Quote from: Gabriel_Down on Wed 23/02/2011 19:34:40Saying "Ghandi was racist" is telling half the truth.
Yep. And saying the he "preached love and peace" is telling the other half. Together they make a whole.
That was kind of exactly my point.

I on the other hand don't give a tiny rats ass if ghandi was a rapist. Now he is insipring people to do good things and that's what matters more than your truth.
Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
I do agree to some extent, but I'm not arrogant enough to think that I'm definitely right and everyone should be kept ignorant of anything that might lead them to disagree with me. Educate people and let them draw their own conclusions.

I kind of agree with Khris that the more unseemly parts of people's lives shouldn't just be ignored so easily, but I reckon it's fair enough to only present one side of an issue if you clearly state that that's what you are doing, and from the phrase "a warm look" it should be pretty clear what it will and won't cover. I wouldn't expect a positively biased documentary to cover the bad stuff, just like I don't expect a negatively biased piece to focus on the good stuff.

However, claiming to focus on "the soul of the man" does rather imply that it'll be pretty all-encompasing, and I think this is Khris' point: there is a fine line between "focusing on the positive" and "pretending the negative doesn't exist". Just be careful you don't end up with the latter.

I can make it any time after 3 6 until about midnight.
And I'm English.

@Noa: That's a really nice voice you have there. Strong, but gentle. "I'm the Man" also reminded me of early Lacuna Coil, not so much in style, but in your voices and the way they play off each other. It's a good thing. :)

I've added you to the first post, welcome to the band! :)
Well, that was easy. 8)

Sorry for the late reply, I was answering a PM and then my net connection went down.

Do you have Skype, Ultra Magnus? :)
Not at the moment. I'm not sure I even have a mic, but I could probably organise something in a few days or so.

I can play bass to some extent, so count me in if you don't get offers from anybody... you know... actually good.
Don't listen to him, folks, he definitely knows how to play it! :D
It's my word against yours. :)

I tried to do this on a forum I used to frequent about three years ago, but the people there all signed up under the impression that I wasn't being serious, so I ended up doing everything myself. :-\

Well, thanks anyway. Unfortunately I don't remember what the filename was. It might still be hosted online somewhere (not likely, but possible), but without the filename it'll be impossible to track down. Ho hum.

You can't get more sentimental than watching them literally crawl up the Slopes of Orodruin, or watching Frodo pass into the Grey Havens.
Not to mention people laughing in soft-focus.

@Ultra Magnus:
I only have v1.2, which has no external music files but according to the
readme.txt it does have music, so this might not be the version your looking for...:
Thanks, but I'm afraid that's not the one I'm after. I originally posted a version without music, then replaced the link with version 1.2 (which has a couple of midis, and a few minor gameplay changes based on people's feedback) about a week later, so the original was really only available for that first week. That's why it's a such long shot.
Thanks anyway, though.

What do you have the while game is paused, GUIs should... setting as? Try setting it to display as normal.
#40
I thought about this for my game, and what I came up with was this.

Replace the character with a GUI button that uses the same base sprite, and then just control the button as you would the character. So, for example something like...

Code: ags

btnDude.SetPosition(cEgo.x, cEgo.y);
btnDude.Visible=true;
cEgo.Transparency=100;
btnDude.Animate(1, 3, eRepeat); // same view and loop as the character's walk cycle;
while (btnDude.X<300) btnDude.X=+1;
btnDude.NormalGraphic=7; // character's standing sprite
cEgo.x=btnDude.X;
cEgo.y=btnDude.Y;
cEgo.Transparency=0;
btnDude.Visibe=false;

...will swap the character for a button (btnDude), make the button walk across the screen (in front of any GUIs that he may come across), and swap it back to the character.

Alternatively, you could try putting bool cutscene; at the top of your script, and then this in the repeatedly_execute section...
Code: ags

if (cutscene=true) {
  btnDude.SetPosition(cEgo.x, cEgo.y);
  btnDude.Visible=true;
  cEgo.Transparency=100;
  if (cEgo.Moving=true) btnDude.Animate(1, 3, eRepeat); // same view and loop as the character's walk cycle;
  else btnDude.NormalGraphic=7; // character's standing sprite
}
else {
  cEgo.Transparency=0;
  btnDude.Visibe=false;
}

...and then you can just use this for the cutscene...
Code: ags

cutscene=true;
cEgo.Walk(300, cEgo.y);
cutscene=false;

...which would make it easier if you want the char to do a lot of moving, as you won't have to duplicate too much of the same code.

Note: I can't test this myself, and it's been a couple of months since I last coded anything, so my script may need a little tweaking to actually work, but it should be close enough to figure out with a little experimenting. Particularly, I have a feeling that btn.Animate won't work in rep_exec, but I can't think of how to get the character's current frame and apply that to btnDude.NormalGraphic. I'm sure someone else can help with this bit, though.
