Harvester is the only one you listed I've actually played, and only for a few minutes (never been a fan of FMV games and never got into Sierra games).

But since I'm not a fan of "straight" horror anyway, I'm all for comedy in horror movies and games if it's done right. But I enjoy the horror genre to have fun, not to be scared or creeped out. Medical shows do a much better job of that...

Babar - From what I've played of Harvester and heard about it, a lot of it is really dumb. I'm not even sure it should be called horror. Maybe dark comedy.

No Function keys? That doesn't seem right. I did a search about laptops without function keys and found nothing, except for mention of the Fn key which used to be required to be able to use function keys. Maybe the keys are in an odd spot or combined with other keys?

But congratulations on being more or less 3/4 finished.

I'm still struggling with graphics style for sprites. But I decided that if I haven't gotten it figured out by noon on Saturday that I'll just use ultra low resolution graphics...

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy miniseries?
(doubt it, but the robot makes me think of it for some reason)

I've finished all but one of the games now.

WELCOME TO NOD RIVER by Mandle

Dunno what to say with it being just an intro. Shows promise though.

Stories of the unexpected: 'Until further notice' by Slasher
Spoiler
I don't mind the anachronisms like some people did. Of course I had literally just been reading about Anachronism Stew on TvTropes before playing the game again to finish it...
Most of the puzzles were pretty easy to figure out. For some reason I thought opening the first safe would have something to do with all the dates mentioned on things. But after being told about the book, I realized I had to literally use the book on it.
The only puzzle that really confused me was using the hammer on the laser. I tried the mirror first since that's how so many things get past lasers. Then I tried the cds.

The Lightning Spell by Buckethead
Spoiler
Short, but nicely done. The interactions with the maiden were fun. I like the setting and would have liked to see it used more.

The Shaft by Kastchey
Spoiler
Had to watch the walkthrough to finish it, but I did finish it before the voting deadline.
The graphics are nice and the puzzles are well thought out. The ending did make it much more intriguing.

My vote goes to:
Spoiler
The Lightning Spell. It just was the most fun to me and the setting appealed to me the most out of all of them.

Sure, be the butler and be the first lynched. Well, lynched doesn't quite sound right with this setting...
I don't remember any of the guests "lynching" anyone in any of the murder mystery episodes of stuff I've watched. Hmm...

But anyway, I agree that the psychic being able to scan the first day is good if there's 9 or more people.

Ah, good. A setting which makes more sense for characters to be able to hide their identities. I'm in.

Actually I want to watch that movie now
I won't be held responsible for any brain damage caused directly or indirectly from it. You might therefore be unable to be a judge...
I'd recommend literally anything else Don Bluth directed over it. Unless you've watched the movie Troll and thought it should be mixed with the Teletubies, Barney, and Ferngully

You could change the theme to make the troll a hero... :-D

Okay honestly, I don't mind if you portray trolls in a bad light.  Portray as you see if - portray away!!
Oh, I guess that means you know nothing about the movie. The troll in it is "good". Sickening good. His touch literally creates singing flowers.

But I might seriously throw a troll in in some way. Even if it's a troll doll...

Incidentally, I am a judge for this jam 8-)

So no cheating and no games that cast trolls in an unfavorable light please:-D
Well, there goes my plan of making a game based on A Troll In Central Park...

Ugh. Still so much to do...
I have no finished graphics yet because I'm still trying to figure out the graphics style. Looking at non-adventure games for reference has helped, but I'm still not quite there. I'm happy with the ideas I'm getting from not forcing them. It's just going slowly.
But I do plan to at least plan out the vending machine area today.

Edit: And... Apparently I'm now going to throw a troll doll in.
#1153
At least I'm not the only one stuck on that part of Slasher's game...

Looks like I need to finish a couple of the games soon so I can vote. Oops.

Alright. Further talk should probably take place elsewhere to keep from going off topic.

I'd be willing to give it a try at least. Of course without someone else's help with the scripting, the enemy AI would be very simplistic and building placement wouldn't be too advanced. But I could at least do a kind of proof of concept.

Yeah, if buildings are limited to certain "tiles" and the enemy AI was based on what resources and buildings the player has, I could do something playable at least.
#1156
Well, this is what I could do. Very rough, done in like 15 minutes.
Using one of your buildings, character created in MakeHuman and modified in Gimp, and grass and trees quickly created by me.

Well, I thought it might be better if you had a specific idea in mind that might pique someone's interest.
But if you go with something along the lines of Warcraft 2/Mega-Lo-Mania or even some of the stages of Spore and have use of sprites or character portraits not made in Blender, I could help.
#1158
I don't want to be a wet blanket, but you're asking a lot for no real reason.
You haven't given anyone an actual reason to want to join. Even your last sentence of your first post ended on an underwhelming note. Might try to create something?

Do you have any original ideas for the game? What would you like to do that would make the game different from any other strategy game?
If you were the first person to propose making a strategy game, it might be different. Provide a stronger proposal and people might actually be interested.

Are you wanting to do something along the lines of Civilization, Warcraft, Dune 2, Mega-Lo-Mania?

For example: to get my interest it would have to be either science fiction or fantasy based. Or be a silly take on the genre.

I may sound negative, but I'm trying to be as helpful as I can be without saying I'd join in (because honestly, I wouldn't have the first clue where to start with the AI).

Now I finally have image codes where pngs actually end with png instead of jpg. Maybe zoomable images will actually look right now.
Thank you very much Gurok.

I can guarantee with absolute certainty that you will not be a guard in the next round. (You might end up as a nurse, though. :=)
As long as I don't have to wear wear a miniskirt, that's fine.
