I see the testing phase is over. I will give it a try sometime today.
Sadly, yesterday turned out to feel even hotter than the previous day, despite being technically 3 degrees cooler. So I didn't get a walk cycle after all. But I did at least have some ideas.
I'm unlikely to get anything finished today. But I will at least work on graphics some.

I haven't gotten to hearing Laverne yet. But
Spoiler
Sam and Max

sound absolutely horrible.

Oh, it's not that I didn't know how to save. It's that it wouldn't let me save during the tutorial.

I just played a couple of minutes of it. I'm impressed with the English voice for Bernard at least. Not so impressed with the interface and not having been able to save when I wanted to.
Edit: I think the problems I had with the interface were due to using the Linux version. Skipping the tutorial seemed to have fixed one of the problems. Otherwise it's a basic 2 click interface with space bar showing hotspots.
And sadly, Dr. Fred and Purple Tentacle don't sound as good.

There are pos and cons to lynching or not. But I'd rather be safe and not lynch someone important that just blindly go about killing someone. It's one mistake which can't be undone. Another day means the seer could do his/her work. But pick wrong and the seer could be the one executed. Or worse, me...
#1285
That could be difficult. And pose some problems...
I am putting together reference for making the player character in Inkscape at least. I'm being lazy and making the graphics sidescroller type so that I only have to do left and right. I should be able to at least have a walk cycle done today.

Good luck getting something playable done. I quite understand the heat issue. It's part of what's killed a lot of my creativity and motivation the past 2 months.

Slasher - Congrats on getting your game to the testing phase.

Now to see if I can get the energy and creativity to get some graphics done for my game today...

Since I haven't seen any valid enough reasons to lynch anyone, I vote against lynching again.
#1288
I'm hesitant to lynch anyone without reason. And there was no valid reason for lynching stupot. So far there's been no valid reason for lynching anyone.
But if you truly think I'm a werewolf, go ahead and lynch me. It's not as if I'm the one who first suggested a town meeting or suggested ways to test for werewolves.
Of course you'll regret the decision once you find out that I'm not a werewolf and someone else is killed tonight. Which will mean 2 meaningless deaths. But if you're going to lynch the wrong person, it may as well be me. At the least it should be less painful than being mauled by the werewolves.

Why would my suggesting dayowlron as werewolf fodder be something to influence their decision? I merely figured he was the fool because he quickly went from imposing himself as leader to wanting fruit. I just didn't want to lynch him since it would have been wasteful.
And unfortunately I don't have any gut instincts about the werewolves. My only gut instinct is that Cassie isn't a werewolf. Which probably means I'll be completely wrong and she'll wind up being the alpha...

Sometimes a fool can see things the wisest of us can't.
I'm sure there's at least some truth sprinkled in what dayowlron said and did. I'm just not sure how much.
As for lynching Stupot, I never saw or heard any actual evidence for it. If anything, a growling stomach would be proof against him being a werewolf.
If we're going to lynch someone, there needs to be real reason for it.

The town meeting went nowhere last time. But it's at least the best option so far.
All I know is there's not been enough information so far to decide anything. And if Privateer Puddin' is right about why they went after dayowlron, then I'll most likely be their next target. Unless they change strategy to throw us off.

If there were any episodes of Lost in Space where they went to alternate Earths, I didn't see them at least. Which doesn't mean there weren't. For the most part the family was stuck on the same planet, unless that changed in later seasons.

It wasn't the video quality that told me it was the 70s, it was Cassie saying that it was the same time period as The Tomorrow People that told me that. But there's a specific look to most American tv up until maybe the 90s that these images just don't have. I don't know if it was the specific film used or what.  And I can't say that it's true for all non-American tv. It's just one of those things I can't quite explain. Kind of like how I can instantly tell a soap opera from any other kind of tv.

And I was just confused at how the images could make you think of either show is all. Not so much calling your guesses crazy. Anyway, sorry. I'll try to refrain from such in the future.

A big part of it is probably the difference in NTSC vs PAL encoding.

I guess we could lynch stupot. It would at least be doing something. Not that there's any reason to do it. But it doesn't seem as if anyone has any better ideas. I suppose we could just lynch everyone one by one until it'd down to just the werewolves and I. Which doesn't sound like a great plan.
We could make the lynching completely random. Or we could just continue doing nothing. Maybe we could prepare some nice side dishes for the werewolves.

Sure, if you happen to be Sam Neill...

I for one didn't sleep beyond a few cat naps. I heard plenty of howling, but never close enough to be useful.

As for what to do, I gave all the ideas I had yesterday. I will be attempting to nap in a corner if anyone needs me or has any useful ideas.
#1296
I think replacing the cat would remove it too much from the original idea.
I think if I keep imagery surreal, but not violent it should be okay. At least there's no fear of accidentally getting too close in story since this game won't have an actual plot.
#1297
Congratulations on completing the game. I'll give it a try sometime this weekend.

Well, this is sad news. I was right about him being a fool and that he should be kept around as werewolf fodder. But he was also fun and I didn't expect them to take him out first.
Thank you for your sacrifice dayowlron. May your death not be futile and may any werewolf who ate you vomit for days from the wolfsbane you consumed.

I am not a fan of carrying a large number of items around. No one would do so IRL (let alone random stuff). Moreover i dislike how in many games the player just picks up tools from random locations, when the same thing should be available in their house. I mean... would you take a pair of scissors or a plastic cup if you had those in your apartment? Why? :=

Ok, an adventure game isn't a book you read, but imo it is better to keep some of the same logic re item picking :)
If you make an adventure game 100% logical and like real life, what would be the point of making it? The whole point of fiction is to not be real life.
In real life the only items I usually take with me when I leave my house are my wallet, keys, and cell phone. And very rarely do I get anything from anywhere else that I don't pay for.
How fun would a game be where every problem you have is solved by buying what you want from a store or picking up your cell phone and looking up an answer?

Lost in Space and Happy Days really confuse me...
The video quality and setting is very different from either.
The hints and video quality tell me it's from the 70s and most likely not American.
Not being credited makes it difficult. But I'm guessing Play For Today since the episode he was in is the right time period and is called the Peddler.
