Now it's crunch time.
This weekend is when I'll be doing the implementation of everything I've laid the groundwork for.
So, mostly dialog and scripting.
Backgrounds are most likely going to be pretty bare bones and characters will only have side views.
But both Twitch and Massimo will have different guis, and abilities. There will be more than one way to do everything. And there will be multiple endings.

Huh... I can't think of anything I've actually seen him in other than DS9.
But I can think of two people who seemed to show up in pretty much every scifi show I watched during certain periods. One probably because she's Canadian and so many are filmed in Canada. The other because he's simply so prolific of an actor.
Both of which would fit since she was in Stargate and he was in Star Trek.

Now I kind of want to make sure anything I submit in the future includes an actor from Stargate or Star Trek...

Ack. At that brightness mine looks horrible. I can see at the left where the previous version of the background was (the moon looked horrible after I cropped it).
And the sky looks horrible being brighter...

You are correct.

You are correct on who, but not what.

Alright, here's my entry.
Not too creative, but it's what I was inspired to make.

Hmm. Yes. I can think of 3 different tv shows I've seen her in that this isn't too.

Data is the one in black. Alexander is the one walking away from him. Worf is the one in red with the vest. And Troi is in front of him.
Shame Data is only shown once. But I guess showing him in his multiple roles would have easily told people it was a Fistful of Datas.
I guess Worf and Alexander's haircuts really are as bad as I thought.

I... think I know this one. And if I'm right, I rather watch other people guess than guess it.

So, I'm saying Westworld just to get that guess out of the way.

Maybe have a NPC help the player in game?
Not quite sure how I'd make that work since I already have 2 main characters to switch between. When doing some things, they talk to each other first. But thanks for the suggestion.
I'll probably play a bit of some games to help figure it out.

I'm at the stage of trying to decide how to handle clues. I half figured out how to do a clue board last night. But I'm just not sure if it's best way to go.

I will be starting backgrounds to actually use, since I currently only have placeholder ones...

@Hobo I quite understand. Most of my time has been spent learning how to make graphics in Inkscape and then animating them in Spriter Pro. At this point I'm not even sure I have a single thing done that's going in my final game...
But your art and animations look quite nice. So I'd say the time is well spent, even if it takes awhile.

Hmmm. My brain tells me I know that car. But I don't want to guess the show itself at this point...
Is it from a show set in the early 80s, but made in the late 90s?

And doing some investigating, I found that it is a Gremlin, but the paint job is wrong. So I know it's not from Freaks and Geeks as I thought.

Looks like I'm definitely out for trying to finish a version of my game for the Jam.
But at least I have plenty of time to make the full MAGs version.

Here's Massimo's current walkcycle.

There's something about the rat-man that makes me think of the main antagonist... sort of... from a movie I watched years ago.
But that guy didn't have a head, was maybe and alien, and had dynamite in his shorts...

Those eyes... Looks like Twitch's been up all night, making a MAGS game :-D

We're officially out of AdventureJam now and focusing fully on MAGS.
Nah, that's just his natural state.

And shame you had to drop out. But now I wonder how long your game is going to be if you still need to put in all that work. I still haven't given up hope of finishing by tomorrow night and I've put in less work in total than you have in 2 days.

@ Mandle Thanks. I'm probably going to refine him more next week.

Twitch with eyelids and updated walk cycle.
This is the last of animations for Twitch for awhile. I have to make animations for Massimo and two other characters today and tomorrow.

#1460
@DBoyWheeler Yeah, it's quite useful. I've had it for 2 or 3 years, but this is the first time I've actually done more than glance at it. After setting everything up, the actual animation took me maybe 5 minutes.

@Mandle Ah, thanks. Guess I didn't pay close enough to the video I followed or something. Luckily I only have to adjust 2 key frames.
