The Rumpus Room / Re: *Guess the Movie Title*

Is it heresy that I don't even know for sure if I've seen the 2nd movie and that the 3rd is my favorite?

Thanks for the comments. At some point I'll probably take the time to make a longer version of Flukie with more areas, actual puzzles, and the addition of Twitch. Unfortunately I just didn't have enough time once I finally got into the groove of making it.

Not as finished as I'd like, but ah well.

I really hope the extension wasn't until 50 minutes from now or 10 minutes ago. Here's what I currently have just in case.
Still not done. But has more than yesterday's version.

Huh, this is one of the first themes in awhile to not give me any ideas. Guess I'm more tired than I realized. If someone wants to team up, I can do graphics, some programming, and/or bounce around ideas and such.

I never announce when I'm working on a MAGS entry anymore because I never finish them. For example, I started one this month with a very nice glass of water as an inventory item, but I'm not even halfway done with it.  :embarrassed:

It's embarrassing how many of these half-finished things I've accumulated on my hard drive over the years. I miss the days when I had more free time.
I guess I can kind of understand. I tend to talk about mine in the threads as a way of motivation. Which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

I think I'm up to about a 80% failure rate on completing games. But each one does go towards helping me improve in some way, so none of them are total failures.

I will continue under the assumption of an extension, but I will have a semi playable version prepared just before the deadline just in case...

Unfinished, barely playable version that will hopefully be finished if/when there's the extension. Probably buggy, doesn't have all the dialog options, doesn't have finished art for most things, and doesn't have the intro or true endings.

An extension would be great. I could technically finish today, but an extra day or two would make a big difference.

Critics' Lounge / Re: Need Some Pointers

I think I should probably say that the pink background is my fault. The original images had a white background and a more yellowish skin. The pinkish background just happened to be one of the random colors left in my colors which I used for removing pixels.
But thank you to both of you for being more helpful than I was able to be.

You're welcome. Hopefully someone else who does low res sprites will be of more help, though.

The blurriness is probably because your image host converts the image to jpg. I used to have the same problem when I used tinypic. I use the AGS image host. But I haven't heard anything about it since August, so I'm not sure if new accounts can still be created or not. https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=56292.20

I can't think of too much given the size. I'd personally make the eyes darker and give a different skintone. Maybe make the mouth closer to the skin tone. As for the arms and hands, can't think of anything really to change. The hands are fine, they just look a little like lego minifig hands. But it's hard to do much more at that size.
And I assume he's wearing a gun holster?
Anyway, here's more in line with what I'd do.

Yes, I can kind of understand that. I think that I now have more unfinished MAGS games than I have finished.
Hopefully I won't disappoint. There won't be any normal exploration you'd expect from an adventure game and if the inventory is used at all, it'll only be in one room. In ways it will probably be closer to a visual novel.
#734
Ah. That's probably the problem. I see that the current version is 2 mb larger than the one I downloaded.
#735
Well, I'm trying to test the client. But won't open. No errors or anything, just nothing.
I've tried modifying the acsetup.cfg using one from a game that does work and still nothing...
Edit: There were no errors unpacking the files. I've even tried copying all of the files from a working game except for the ags file and still nothing...
#736
Ah, finally definite other game being made.
Now I almost feel bad that what I'm going to be making is based on/parodying 2 of the worst E.T. knockoff movies I know of and won't have any actual puzzles, just dialog choices. Almost.

AGS Games in Production / Re: Collateral Jelly

I think that may possibly be the best sounding puzzle I've ever heard for an adventure game.
#738
I don't know if it's that scary...

And I honestly  have no idea what game I'm actually going to make for this month. There's still time to do the longer game if I can actually get sprites made. There's also a chance I could do the first game I mentioned at the beginning of the month. Or the one room game. Or I may just end up doing a game based on the "scary" image. But I will do something, even if it's only a minute long...

The Rumpus Room / Re: What's on TV?

Huh, now I really wonder why the first picture looked familiar.

Looking on imdb, I'm guessing the first picture is from Adam Ruins Conspiracy Theories and the last one is from Adam Ruins Having a Baby.

Sure, I can test it.
