Why 1980s cartoons? Why not 1990s? That's when the majority I can think of with anthro characters were thanks to the Disney Afternoon. Ducktales, Darkwing Duck, Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers, Tailspin, Gummi Bears...

If no one else is interested, I can see what I can do.

Of course I'm going to give it a try.
If I can't think of anything better, I can do something based on Chewy: Escape from F5 and E.T.

Given the number of times I failed to finish something after an extension, not going to ask.
I think I can still salvage it to be somewhat playable in the next 2 hours if I completely cut out any walk cycles...

With the upcoming deadline so soon, I definitely can't make my game fully playable. I now have to decide if I should make it a preview, make it as playable as I can, or just drop out completely.

The last image looks kind of like Michelle Gomez. I've never seen or heard of it before a minute or so ago, but I'm guessing Green Wing.

Isn't that the woman who plays The Master in Doctor Who?
Close. Michelle Gomez actually played Missy.

So... How's everyone doing?
Migraines means that I've been able to do less than planned. It looks like I'm going to have to "cheat" and use Display commands to fill in gaps I don't have time to properly do. But luckily being long winded is in character for Carnacki.

Lower resolution is "easier" to make backgrounds? Thanks for the feedback.

That actually depends on a lot of factors. Like what techniques you use, how much detail, and what program(s) you use. So, I wouldn't let backgrounds be too big of a factor in what resolution you use. If you use similar techniques to how you made the chicken suit image, you should be able to make backgrounds that go with it.

Well, it will certainly be interesting since it seems like only 2 games are being made this month.
I have at least narrowed down my game to being sometime in the 20s and have some specific locations in San Antonio in mind. Unfortunately I can't find enough reference to be accurate, so I'm going to have to do an amalgam using similar places that I can find the reference for. So, I'll finally be starting backgrounds today.

Vampires has nothing to do with it. I simply played it some because of it being released open source. And it was an easy guess due to the protagonist.

Random game from my Steam library.

Drascula: The Vampire Strikes Back? (Yeah, I had to look up the full name since I've only played like 20 minutes of it).

Well, I can say that Dog Rat's game is doing better than my own. I still have to finish a walk cycle for my game and figure out the specific locations, npcs, etc. The general setting is going to be San Antonio in either the 20s or early 30s. And I did make a targeting gui yesterday so everyone in the game will be able to be shot. Not that there's any particular reason to shoot anyone as of yet. But the first Carnacki story has him using a pistol, so I'm incuding it...

Can you post the code for the character that doesn't work?
It sounds to me like there's probably a problem somewhere in using it.
Also, I have to ask since it's something I did several as a newbie. Did you click on the lightning image to actually link the character to the code?

That looks like Mara Wilson and that arm is rather hairy. Mrs. Doubtfire?

BeastMaster?
(Yeah, never saw a full episode, but it's as much 90s as Farscape, both starting in 1999.)

Hmmm, didn't know there were rules to follow about the MMM world, I'll check that out.
Thanks both for your answers!
I'll keep in mind your offering VampireWombat, I'm super bad at drawing and wouldn't mind getting some help for the (only) background I did for this game.

Edit: oh, BTW, I'm trying to crossover MM with Alice in Wonderland.
I'm not sure if there are any rules beyond not trying to sell games.

Well, if you need any Alice in Wonderland characters, backgrounds , or items made into MMM style, let me know.

I know I probably won't make it in time as I'll be very busy the next two weeks, but just to be sure, it's okay to use resources downloaded from here, right?
The last line says "Of course, all publically available assets can be used at any time." So I'd say yeah. As long as you stick within any MMM rules it should be no problem.
If you need any help being able to complete your game, feel free to message me. If you need characters made, a couple of animations, a couple of backgrounds, or grunt work level coding. I'd even be willing to convert MMM assets to the Tumbleweed template.

I suppose I was desensitized enough to not be impacted by the scene when I saw it. But I never thought of the game as being a mystery adventure game. I recognized it from when I first saw images from it 2 years ago as being Urban Fantasy. Almost every urban fantasy series I can think of has something as bad or worse. Episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel have glossed over similar events. So I can see how it would be easy to not even think of the full implications of such things when demons, vampires, and other supernatural forces are involved. Not to say that warnings shouldn't be included, of course.

It's Farscape. The episode is Taking The Stone. But Lexx is the show I was referring to with Rutger Hauer in an episode.
Alright, whoever wants is next apparently.
