I have nothing to show yet. I was sick all last week. All I have is the core concept, general setting, and some reference. Still need a name and protagonist. But I am going to try to do a graphics style that's somewhere between Sam and Max/DoTT and some cartoons from the 80s and early 90s.
Probably the shopkeeper will be the first character made. But probably won't be until Saturday or Sunday.

Looks like a good start of an adventure/RPG mix. I like the idea of a quest system for an adventure game, might be an interesting way to combat the linearity that characterizes so many classic adventure games.
I haven't found any real bugs other than doors that all lead to the same place, but that's probably an intended move due to the game being in an early stage rather than an actual bug.
I feel this could have been a solid win had there been any substantial gameplay. A really good attempt, VW.

An actual quest system is something I should probably add at some point. Thanks for using that wording. I'm glad there weren't any real bugs. And yeah, the doors were intentional since I had to cut the blacksmith shop and inn for this version.

That is correct, I'm afraid. Bringing burgers and nightmares to your door.

Well, at least you didn't include any of the nightmare inducing scenes.

Oh, I vaguely know of this one. It was the one that was product placement for Skittles, I believe.
Darkened Skye it would seem....

In that case, is it Howling VI: The Freaks?

(also: woah,I didn't realise Deep Roy played Droopy McCool!)
That is correct.

(And neither did I until yesterday.)

It is indeed Deep Roy in the first image.

I can't comment on your schedule but I really believe this game is worth extending!
Thanks. Actually, I might make an update this weekend with the extended dialog, changing of the forest, and opening up to the left of the town. That much is definitely doable.

The Outer Zone - Yeah, I didn't realize the forest would take as long to walk through until it was too late to change. I plan to add more to it at some point and actually use more than one tree.

jahnocli - Unfortunately I didn't have time to make the intro I wanted which would hopefully get the player more into the game. Sorry about the music. I'll try to have more selections in the future to round it out better.

Shadow1000 - Thank you very much. Unfortunately it really did end abruptly since I was working on it up until 15 minutes before the deadline. I already have added dialog to all of the characters and plan to work on it a little bit at a time. Hopefully in a month or two I'll have a version completed which actually shows the mermaid(s), siren(s), and harpies.

Nope, not Fun House. One more hint before I post another screenshot later. The guy with 3 arms was played by an actor who was in Return of the Jedi, but not Time Bandits.

Nope, no floating chrome death balls. Besides, Phantasm 3 was much more fun...

Nope. None of the above. One hint before I add another screenshot later. It's a sequel in a franchise, with a number over 3.

Farm Simulator 2000?

Oh, late entries will be accepted? If so, I'll try to do something this weekend.

And I'm kind of the opposite of Blondbraid. I'm doing MAGS to push myself and gain experience with actually finishing something, even if it's not great. With each game I learn at least one new thing.
Of course since I plan to participate in MAGS every month I can, I might not be a great target for this thread...

Good luck to all who play mine. Warning: You can't actually see the mermaid(s) or siren(s) at this point. But hopefully they can at least be talked about.
I can also guarantee there will be bugs and some dialog meant to hint at what to do is missing.
