@VampireWombat - sorry about that. Do you mean the background fx? All the people, cars and adds?
I should really make these less noisy in the next version.
I didn't even notice people... But yeah, the background stuff. I'm sure it's fine for most people, but I'm prone to headaches and some photosensitivity. It may even be fine on another day.
Congratulations on your win.

Still working on Slasher's game, but going to start my post now.

Cola Skunkette by DBoyWheeler:
Spoiler
An improvement over previous games. The walkcycle and backgrounds helped. But I have to admit that having to get the key made me cringe.

The Man Who Liked Cats by Mandle
Spoiler
I have no idea what was even going on. Did I miss something? Was the cat falling into quicksand? I couldn't figure out a way to get the cat to safety.

The Campaigne of Daphne White by Slasher:
Spoiler
Only finished two campaigns so far. Once I went back to the store, I found that the puzzles were too easy. Still humorous. But I did find it a bit odd navigating a car using feet.
I currently have no idea how to get the password. I'm guessing the last number is 12 since a baker's dozen is 13. But I have no clue about a headless crow.
I went to Beryl's section after leaving poor Bert next to the nudie magazines. When I returned to them, Burt somehow merged with the magazines. Congratulations on accidentally making a horror game.

Fists of Murder by Jack:
Spoiler
Some of the dialog was humorous, some made me groan. The combat was fun for a few seconds, but I went without it when going back out. The ending was a bit too abrupt,
but still good job.

Cyborg Seppuku by The Outer Zone:
Spoiler
I think I already commented earlier when I played it before. I don't have much more to add other than I couldn't finish the updated version. The colors were a nice change, but the flashing triggered a headache.

And my vote went to:
Spoiler
Cyborg Seppuku. Best overall plus it is cyberpunk...

I just checked and confirmed that something similar is part of the Extended ALARCOST template. But that makes green dots over the hotspots.
Dunno if I'd say any of them is better. Just slightly different.

Well, obviously a Warhammer game. I'm guessing Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War since it's the only one in my Steam Library.

I just randomly Googled "adventure game ideas" and the top news from the search was a review for Lamplight City. Good job.

Making food is one of my solutions. If I can think of something, I will even have at least one food pun.

I checked for myself and yeah, that seems to be the behavior when I clicked a button. I've always used the BASS template when having such a GUI. So maybe you could just adapt that bit of script.

Edit: I did a bit of research and tested for myself. Apparently the gui will disappear if you make any click on the GUI.

Where I found the info.

I was going to say that the 80s seemed too modern for The Movies and guess something else. But I guess you can play that long. Now I wonder where my copy went...

Here's my submission. I wanted to do more, but I have too many things to do...

Yeah, I'm behind on stuff. I plan to play/re-play the games this weekend and then vote.

Congratulations on the release.

Just went to GoG and Lamplight City was the first game it showed to me in the featured area.

Yes, I plan to watch some stuff to hopefully get more ideas. And I have a notebook near my tv. I've determined over the past day or so that each "quest" will be able to be solved by the power of puns. But there will be more straightforward methods as well.

Good luck on your game not being buggy.
#993
I hope I'm meant to post it here.
I will take the doctor who killed Murray. Err, Dr. Killmurray.
#994
I'll give it a try.
#995
Sounds interesting. So far it kind of seems like a mix of VTM: Bloodlines and Leviathan: The Last Day of the Decade with a bit of a tycoon game thrown in.
#996
Hmm, brewing is a good idea. I wonder what useful things could be brewed. But yes, I do have an item crafting system in place, one background mostly finished, and ideas for finishing each quest 3 or 4 different ways. I'm taking shortcuts this time and using the open pixel project as a base. But I've modified all of the character sprites I'm using and created quite a few additional items.
But direct work on the game is going to be halted so I can work on a game for the 2nd annual thing on Itch.io. But since I'm going to also use the open pixel project for that I'll at least make some npc heads and some items I can use for both.

I started planning within 10 minutes of the jam going live.

AGS Games in Production / Re: The Witch House

Obviously I need to read the story eventually. The Masters of Horror episode and rock opera haven't provided me with any information to have a clue about the new background.
Looks very nice.
#999
Nice.

I have nothing complete. But I have 1/3 or so of the scripting for character selection complete. And I am working on an item creation gui. Sure, I could just use the normal inventory, but I want to have recipes.

And the current name is... Sweet Mythery. I'm sorry.

I just downloaded the current version of your game from Itch and the only error I had was that it said it couldn't find the video file, which I fixed by moving the video into the data subdirectory.
It sounds to me more like the problem is with the Itch Client than your game. The solution to the problem would be more likely found over there than here.
I did look at the app faq and found this sentence "While the app can now run most games you can find, compatibility issues still happen from time to time, especially on Linux where best practices aren't followed by all." And under the integration guide I found "Various Linux distributions have varying opinions on how software should be distributed â€" this makes Linux a particularly hard platform to target, given the sheer number of different format to support."

I'd say the easiest solution would be for the user to just download the game directly. And possibly use the Windows version via Wine.
