It might be a bit hard to swallow at first - it's not that accessible a work. But for those who give it a few spins, it will be rewarding.

That link works for me, SSH. As for the article, I thought it sounded gratuitous, altough it might not really be. The lyrics are translated literally, mostly line by line, hence the weird word order at times. Do let me know what you think.

Well, here it is, after eighteen months' effort. It is a dark, claustrophobic, progressive and multi-layered work, and is likely to appeal to any aficionado of Marillion, Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons Project or King Crimson. Read more about it and download here.[/url]

Tuomas plays guitars on one track, and that amazing cover art is by GarageGothic.
Feedback greatly appreciated.

I'm 99% percent sure they won't bother to do an English version soon, like that zak fangame.

Haha, it's quite possibly the same panel member who gave "A tale of two kingdoms" 4 stars.

Surely, I gathered as much, but still, it doesn't make much sense.

Anyway, that's too small a nitpick to mar the overall impression of the game, which can't be anything but superb. I'll put down my thoughts once I finish the game with all possible character types.

I think there's a small inconsistency - how come I am not able to take the daggers a brigand has thrown at me, or those he carries with him?

I don't think you're right about the combat system, progz. I had a hard time with my first few fights, but once you get a hold of the system and tactics, I don't believe winning is hard(I play at a difficulty setting about 1/4 up the slider). Don't forget that you can also throw daggers and/or cast spells.

Aw, a cliffhanger!

It was a very enjoyable experience, I hope you fulfill the potential of the series with the last game!

I urge each and every person who has not played The Last Express to do so. It is a perfect example of what adventure games - as an art form - should be.

Ah thousands of apologies to you m0ds, in between my law and history exams it just slipped my mind! I'll make it up for the next issue, I promise!

This is the 1st of May, not the 1st of April, isn't it? Is it really real? If it is, there's a big chance that SCRAMM will be released to, shortly followed by FOY...

It was a swell year for me personally, out of 10 I'd give it a 7.5-8
Things are progressing... :)

Although I am no expert on the subject, Art Nouveau happens to be my favourite artistic movement, and I more or less have an understanding of its doctrine. To me, it is all about beauty, overflowing, overpowering beauty - beauty of nature, the natural beauty of women. The movement flourished in an age when there was thought to be no limit for human abilities, both physical (technical revolution) and mental (the numerous modernist artistic movements). And what the last express does is recreate this long lost era, the belle epoque, with the artistic means of the time. The characters are drawn in a style reminiscent of Toulouse-Lautrec and Mucha; there are lots and lots of examples of then contemporary art, especially in Kronos's private train car. The last express is also a lament for that lost epoch, as the shattering ending shows. This, in short, is why I consider The Last Express the highest artistic achievement of computer games, or at least those I've played. Had it been a movie, it would have been another third man.

The last express embodies Art Nouveau in a particularly grand manner.

Is this separate from the tune contest? I hope it is, when the style suits me more I shall take part.
