Let's hope that Croatia beats the hell out of Australia and Japan and qualifies! ^_^

Aw, Croatia lost :(
And they played quite well, especially in the second half, when they outplayed Brazil. Unfortunately, they wasted their opportunities. I hope that they qualify though. And Brazil isn't quite what everybody expect, they sort of play like Italy.

Or just all the metal dudes voted for Finland... You see, it was the only metal song there and people who liked metal hadn't much choice... whereas people who liked pop divided their votes between the rest.
Bosnia ruled.

General Discussion / Re: Da Vinci Code Redux
Fri 19/05/2006 13:07:35
In my opinion, The Da Vinci Code is a very very very mediocre book, no more, no less. I don't quite understand how it has managed to become such a well known work and a bestseller. The characters don't have any sort of development or whatsoever, they are totally indistinguishable, stereotypical and boring.
In GK3, however, there is much character development, and I'd say it has a much better developed plot than DVC. It doesn't just copy "Holy Blood, Holy Grail', it takes its ideas further and mixes them with mythologies, astronomy, mathematics, history.
The reacions of the churches throughout the world towards the movie(Even the Bulgarian Orthodox church made a statement against it) are totally inapropriate - they are just making the ratings of the movie go through the roof, although if most critics are to be trusted, it is nothing special. Tickets for the near 2-3 weeks here are pretty hard to find, though.

You just get used to it. And finish Leitor's Edge!

I wish I had the time to betatest, but these two weeks are rather hectic for me. However, this sounds really impressive, I am particularly interested in aMuse. I hope you guys finish it soon.

AGS Games in Production / Re: Square John Boy

That sounds really interesting, Anarcho!
I do have some questions though - how i shte player going to control a mentally disabled character? I mean, his mind is abnormal, there must be something different in controlling him than controlling a normal character. Take Faulkner's "The Sound and the Fury", for example - the first part was narrated by an imbecile and used the stream of consciousness style, which, while greatly confusing, believably recreated what was happening in his mind.
And by the way, who's doing the music? I hope it'll be at least as good as the graphics!
Good luck on finishing it.

Hey there, there's a working link on my site... and a sequel: http://www.geocities.com/veliarts/oldgames.html

Yes, as Nikolas pointed out, that must have been the problem.
And as a side note, FL studio adds all kinds of midi events at the beginning and at the end of the midi file it has created, like pitch bend sensitivity, volume, pitch bend, etc.

Critics' Lounge / Re: New style MIDI composing
Mon 24/04/2006 17:57:32
Hey m0ds, you've made some nice tunes as always.
Your playing is good overall, but I think there are some slight inaccuracies(with velocity, in particular) which could be easily removed by editing the midi. Other than that, keep up the good work!
