A couple of weeks for till the next competition? I say give them one or two days more and if there are no entries, then someone should start a new one.
I don't mean to sound offensive, Blodvarg, but the point of the competition is to create a tune in a week, not a month.

It should have been properly advertised.

Whatever that means, please upload the file to a more reliable place.

"The third man" did something unconventional - the whole soundtrack was played on a single zither, by Anton Karas; it matches the atmosphere perfectly... You could do something like that.

If you're up for doing the compilation, Nikolas, you could listen to the  tunes that are still up, and just neglect those which aren't. Or ask Petteri to send you his collection.

General Discussion / Tune Contest compilation?
Sat 04/02/2006 18:11:13
So, I was thinking, "There have been some awesome tunes composed for the tune competition, someone should pick the best ones out and make a compilation".
Basically, that's my idea - someone who has been following the competition closely to pick a cd's worth of songs and order them properly in a playlist. What do you think, would that be a good idea? Any volunteers?

That looks just AWESOME!  :o

How far did you say you were into the game, again?
#248
That's most awesome news, Hobbes!
And pm me the tunes you need.

I never meant to badmouth Iqu, I just said he delayed his material too long. And I think he is a nice guy, too.

Does anyone who can do the graphics and help with the plot/puzzle design want to team up? If so, drop me a pm.

At the end of the day, the ezine is in need of a writer. ¬_¬

GG& Petteri, I must have completely lost my mind! (GG, that happens for the second time with your tutorial and I am truly very very sorry about it :( )
Feel free to release those works yourself.

Jet, true, but I wouldn't call delaying an article several months 'creative differences'. I should have taken things in my hands way earlier, though.

AGS Ezine issue 13

Sure, Joseph, but don't you think we should have something to put on there first? ;)
#256
Joseph, don't you think that that's a bit too much work for one character for the first game? That's what I meant when I said gradually expanding. And Im not too keen on the remote planet idea... I'd rather have it on an existing place.

This aside, anyone who'd like to draw himself is more than welcome to upload his artwork, and then we'll see.

Of course, that's just my vision, that's what's great about open source projects - if you have another opinion, feel free to make your game otherwise.

Maybe I will, Eric, but when I have some more time... now I'm working on the ezine and some other stuff...
Meanwhile, I hope someone beats me to it! ^_^

Let's all raise our glasses and drink to the happiness and long life of SSH, and may all his wishes and dreams come true!

Happy birthday, SSH! ^_^/

Correct me if Im wrong, but I think that more people feel confident with the pixelly style.

Hillbilly, the way I see it is that there will be several people working on the first game, and individual ones working on next games, gradually expanding the world.

I'd rather the graphics were rather old school 320*200/240, because we dont really need a bigger resolution, do we? Share your opinion.

And if people are interested in collaborating/there are already some sprites of AGSers done for sprite jams and games/, I'd gladly make the music for the project.
