What was the prequal?

Well, as the title implies that this is the second chapter, the first chapter would be a nice guess  ;).
Really, really recommendable. Just take a look here.

Thanks for all the help. My brother got a straight A for his list as he mentioned quite a lot of newspapers his teacher never even heard of even though she was preparing the lesson and looked up in the internet herself.
So, thanks again.  :-*  :-*  :-*

Tuomas: I'd love a Finnish tutorial  ;D

@ everybody: Thanks for all the replies. If you have anymore, feel free to add them. My brother's going to be the star of tomorrow's lesson  ;D

@Tuomas: Thanks. Didn't think it was this complicated. I've already started practising  ;D. These are really great tipps. Can't thank you enough.
Concerning the "ö", we have it in Germany as well and as you describe it, it's probably pronounced the same.
Finish sounds rather cool, imo. Definitely something I might consider learning someday. Got me curious  ;D

Oh goody, goody, goody. Looking forward to this VERY much. I just loved the prequel.

Sounds like fun. Gets my vote.

Thanks for all the fast replies. Just keep them coming.

@Pablo, Ishmael and Tuomas: How are they pronounced? Just in case, my brother needs to read them out loud in class tomorrow.  ;D

Hi,

my little brother got the assignment to list famous daily newspapers from all around the world. As a good big sister, I agreed to help him by asking here. So, which are the most famous or most common daily newspapers (not magazines and stuff) in your home country?

Thanks in advance

I like the idea of a puzzle based on colours but this one plainly scared me away.
I have both charts and the puzzle itself in front of me. I just had a very quick look at the first one and quickly saw that it would take me (don't know if this is true for everyone) ages to figure out what this even means. There are lots of colours that look very much alike and I really don't get what the first chart means. Maybe I'm just stupid, maybe I just don't know enough about colour mixing (actually I don't know much more than if I mix blue and yellow, I'll get green and stuff like that). The knowledge I have doesn't seem to help me at all. The second chart seems to be clearer, but doesn't really help me solve the puzzle.

The thing is, if this was supposed to be a puzzle for an adventure game, I would simply stop playing it as soon as this puzzle came up. In my opinion it is far too difficult as there are far too many informations you need to know to solve this puzzle. There might be some people out there who enjoy spending hours to try and solve a puzzle like that which is imo basically looking at the charts trying to figure out which combination of colours is right and then simply try all the colours that could match. At least for me, it is not possible to recognize the exact colour with my bare eyes, especially with those two charts you have to switch between to get the right colour. I'd just know, if I managed to figure out how this works, that it is something for example light-blue or cyan (especially all the dark-grey ones look the same to me which I'm quite sure they aren't).
I really don't want to discourage you, but this is just way too much for me. Like I said, I like the idea about having colour based puzzles in a game.
Maybe it helps if you don't start with something as difficult as this one here (this is supposed to be kind of difficult, isn't it? Because if this is simple, I'm gonna kill myself right now... ;)) to get used to the different mixing patterns slowly.

I gave this one up after just twenty minutes, because at that point I couldn't even differentiate between black and white anymore. I probably would have figured it out, if I had spent some more time on solving it, but as it just isn't really entertaining for me, I don't think I will. That's just my opinion though and I'm quite sure that there will be people out there who love this sort of thing. I just don't.

Maybe you could make an idiot edition for people like me (if these exist... ;D) with only blue, yellow and green in it  ;).

Anyway, good luck with your game. I'll surely give it a try once it's released...

Hints & Tips / Noisy Mountain

I already bought the condom, went into the chapel to get the flowers, but now I don't know what to do next. How do I get to the Schrottplatz?

I don't want to have the whole solution. Just a little tip would be nice.
Thanks.

The game is really nice. I love the humour and the atmosphere. I'm stuck though.
As it says in the forum rules that I should not ask for hints in here, I've created a thread in the Hints Forum.

The story sounds interesting; rather complicated, but interesting. I remember when you first mentioned your game and I'm quite disappointed now that you abandoned the suit, because I really liked it. Anyway, the story still sounds like it could make a nice game.
Concerning the animations, I agree with Farlander. Some more frames would be nice. Simplicity is good, but this is a bit too simple imho. The front and back view look quite good already and could be used already, but the side view definitely needs some work as it looks like he isn't moving forward at all.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to your game. Good luck.

I finished the book the day it was published. Just couldn't stop reading.

My theory is a bit different to what has been posted here so far:
Spoiler

I don't think that Dumbledore was killed on his own orders. What sense would that make? He is far more valuable than Snape. But anyway, my theory is that Dumbledor is not dead at all, but that this whole killing scene was just a set-up. I still refuse to think that Snape is such an evil bastard. The way that his "real" attitude (being still a Death Eater) was shown right from the beginning, namely in the second chapter, made me think the most. Snape was suspected to be evil a various times before, but there was always a twist in the story and he turned out to be one of the good guys after all. My hopes now are that JKR just kept this twist for the next book. Dumbledore just can't have been so wrong about Snape. He trusted him to the very end. Both, Dumbledore and Snape are mighty wizards. My hopes are that they faked the whole thing. Voldemort would think he got rid of one of his worst enemies and would trust Snape even more.
Well, possibly I'm just making the whole thing up because I don't want to believe that Dumbledore is dead, but there are certain clues for ma theory and I'm just clinging to that last bit of hope.

It's really an improvement. Much better than the original. Just follow Setsuna's and Damien's advices and you're done imo.

Really nice game. Just finished it and all I can say is: exellent. The graphics are really nice. I love your style. The story was funny and the puzzles were perfect imo. Nothing too difficult to keep you stuck for days, but just hard enough to keep you entertained. Really great.
Your update worked perfectly fine for me. Found no bugs at all. I didn't play the previous versions as I just discovered your game an hour ago, but I guess you did a good job.

Overall, one of the best games I've played in a long time. Keep up the smashing work. I can't wait for the second chapter.

It's rather short, but a good start. Like Setsuna said, slowing it down would be a good idea. I actually like the drums, but I'd definitely use a different sound. The one you're using now has to many drumbeats that sound rather funny and not scary at all. You could also try to use lower notes as they tend to create a more scary atmosphere. Try something like organs, slow strums of the bass etc.
Listen to some examples for scary music to give you some ideas. Here are some things I found doing a really quick search on google:

http://www.sounddogs.com/previews/23/mp3/391752_SOUNDDOGS_Oc.mp3
http://www.sounddogs.com/previews/23/mp3/391660_SOUNDDOGS_Pu.mp3
http://www.sounddogs.com/previews/3811/mp3/343371_SOUNDDOGS_Gr.mp3

I bet there are plenty of other examples. But as you can hear, they are all pretty slow. You are kind of rushing through your melody in comparison. I think slowing down will already help a lot making your theme scarier.
To add some extra creepiness to your theme, you could use some scary sounds (screams, rattling of chains etc.).

Hope I could help a bit. Keep up the good work!

Whoops, sorry, my mistake  ::). Didn't have much time, so I rushed it a bit. Checked it now and you're right, khrismuc. Thanks for pointing that out  :-*.

EDIT: Crap concerning perspective removed  ;D.

Concerning the rest of your bg, I really like it, but the wall of the house seems to be terribly clean, just like someone just painted it freshly. You could add some more details, like a bit of dirt or something to it, just to make it look a bit more interesting.
About your side thingy on the door: I can't really see how this could work, because even if you open it, you still have a piece of solid doorframe in the way.

Guess, you'd just have to put it on the other side and turn it around.

[Well, khrismuc was faster  :-\ ...)

Yeah me too. That's exactly the same result that I got. The problem is that I'm female...  :'(
