You might want to check the sticky regarding forum rules...

If you're looking for assistance with a project, you should post here;

Thanks Victor6.

You are on the right track. This bug was caused by the game trying to generate a new mission based on enemy faction threat levels and my guess is that you have assimilated all enemy factions at once... Which is pretty epic! :D And slightly unexpected. Oh well, I'll fix the critical crash bug and am hoping that will resolve the issue.
It was only 3 factions I think. I'm going to complete this at somepoint.

If anyone else has the problem and doesn't want to risk losing the save file (this is pretty late game stuff), the best way around it is to save just before the month ends if you have any assimilated factions. If it crashes, reload until a faction rebels, which should skip the problem.

although....
Spoiler

You might want to take a really long look at the high-tech theft mission code.

It doesn't crash the game, however it frequently gets caught in loops, I've had an agent have his cover blown - use gadget - repeat every 2 days for a year, I've had one spend 3 years killing guards with his laser eyes, and out of 40 attempts (max agent, max mood, max gadgets), it's either gone into a loop, or the agent has been spotted and died.

Edit:- endgame stuff

Ah, the power of the distracting magazines shall be my tool! *evil grin*

I'm still a little concerned about the content of a porn mag produced by 24 burly men with powertools.

@WHAM: Sorry dude, one more;-

I suspect it's the the assimilated factions again.

Icey, I have one suggestion for you;

Shut up about this game and get on with it

That sounds harsh, but time spent talking about a game you want to make is not time spent coding said game.

I'm not sure I should even bother asking this but; Is there actually any gameplay present?

Backgrounds, characters, music, dialogue, a start and an end != a game. That's a cutscene.

I don't see the problem  ???

That's like it goes in life (even when playing cards) - you don't always get what you want!

I'd have to agree with Tabata, it's luck of the draw.

Besides, the same things can happen to your opponent (granted, people don't consider that quite as annoying.)

Here's another screenshot, the last one before release. This is a mock-up of an evil underground base of a supervillain.

It's not under an 'inactive' volcano is it?

Ah, Arcomage. I haven't played this since I picked up M&M 8 (or was it 7? - it was the one with all the elemental nonsense.) from a bargain bin.

I enjoyed it then, more than the rest of the game, and it's just as fun now. Nicely done Ghost.

I've found myself in need of a person/persons to test an in game battle system, loosely based on Langrisser2 (Or Warsong in English).

Experience with TBS games along the lines of advance wars or Technocrat's awesome Operation: FORKLIFT would help.

Be forewarned that it's basically held together with duct tape , and full of pace-holder graphics I've borrowed from other, unfinished projects.

- Oh, and you'll need to have a numeric keypad,

A little shade would probably help. even if it's just drop shadow from the windowsills and overhangs.

I do love the style though, it reminds me of the old 16 color Hi-res stuff you used to get in Dos.

Because 1995 is arguably* the high watermark for LucasArts, After this point, we get monkey island sans Ron Gilbert, and Tim Schafer's last project; Grim fandango.

You could blame the console market, since around this time LucasArts started milking the cash-cow of Starwars titles. At a guess, the pc adventure titles cost more to make, and sold less than mediocre ps1 trash like Masters of Teräs Käsi.

Without a narrative I doubt people would play adventure games, adventure games would just be considered puzzle games without narrative.

But people do play puzzle games. An adventure game without puzzles (or another gaming mechanic) would just be a very long cut-scene. Narrative is just the fluff that pads out the sharp edges and makes the actual game mechanics more appealing.

Thus all thats left on the streets are the hoodlums and anarchists. I say "if they don't follow orders, shoot a few, see if they learn a lesson".

I think the Brits learned that doesn't work in Northern Ireland.

1. Bring in the military
2. Authorize rubber bullets
3. Watch, realize its not nearly enough
4. Bring in helicopters
5. Authorize lethal force
6. ?????
7. Profit!

6. Reduced population leads to lower unemployment, and reduction in welfare payments.....

vertigo and victor. Looking tidy for the deadline?

Unless someone has a heavily modified Deloren I can borrow, no.

Unless I've miscounted (or you've mis-copied), you're missing a closing brace at the end of the function.

Yep, it's Flashman from Tom Brown's schooldays.

Quirky, but brilliant.

If the BBC don't give you (and AGS) some column inches for this, I demand my license fee back.

I am in, too. Screenie tomorrow!

Ditto the above.

I may have ditto'd the screenshot, but I never mentioned anything about explaining what's going on.

(yes, I know I left the debug buttons on.)

tbh, it's looking dicey on the timing already......

You've probably tried this, but;

Draw them double (or larger) size, since it's easier to get the shapes right in higher res, then resize them and let the blending do the hard work for you.
