Ah, I didn't read the original post.  Thanks for the correction, Mr. Matti!  Though I believe Jim on this one.  He meant it is hard to do.  (Though I obviously don't agree that someone out there can do it.  It's a well known fact that only unicorns can fly.)

Khris, his statements are consistent.  (with each other, I won't speak to their consistency with the real world.)  I think you missed the double negative.

Now, everybody shh, and let Jim and Guitar figure out what Christianity is.

Ooh paper!  Like the bible!

Kidding.

I just meant that it doesn't help me investigate the process that you went through for licensing more.  I'm not really interested in seeking out others who claim the same as you, because, like you, I've already made up my mind on the subject, and unless you were to provide some kind of real, tangible, verifiable proof or data for me to look at, I'm not going to be swayed by someone stating beliefs and anecdotes.  It just doesn't do it for me.  Just as you aren't going to be swayed by the complete lack of real, tangible, verifiable proof or data and the leap in logic which that leaves you with.

So I guess we're even.  Except for me.  I'm right. ;)

I see, I just interpreted:

I can't seem to rember that it says: Thou shall not kill, it's bad.
as you not knowing that it was in the commandments.  Along with

I can't say that I read the bible
I see now what you meant way back then.  I apologize for suggesting that you didn't know that killing was in the 10 commandments.

As for your verbal license, that doesn't really help me learn about what you claim to do, unfortunately, or provide any kind of legitimacy...  And since I'm not interesting on going around in circles about how I don't believe that prayer healing works, I'll just bow out of the thread again.  Have fun!  :D

@Jim,

But the license.  What does it say on it?  Does it reference some overseeing licensing committee?  Even better, could you scan/take a picture of the card and show it to us?  I'm just interested in who decides who can and can not heal someone using prayer, and what kind of processes they support.

@Guitar_hero,

I'm interested to know what you think of Jim's faith healing and other beliefs that he's laid out here.  Are you in agreement?
#566
Jim, where did you get your license from?  Is there some kind of organization that oversees this kind of thing?  Do they have a website?  Any claim to legitimacy?  Did you have to take a test? What would happen if you were to heal someone without a license?

Seriously interested.  Forgive me if it's been covered in this long thread.

Wise advise on how to deal with 'the bible":

1. Don't read the bible, ever! Just put the little pieces of knowledge you have in your memory together to get your very own "biblical text". This is a profound basis for arguing about how this book makes no sense at all.

2. Take presumptions for facts. Believe everything anybody tells you about the bible, as long as it fits your image that it's been written by a bunch of brainamputated monkeys on dope. The most absurd interpretation of the text is always the best one to go with.

3. Assume you already know everything about the bible there is to know. You will not be surprised to hear that the primary objective in a conversation should always be to not getting a potentially wrong view corrected. There is no truth, there only is your truth.

4. If you're not very familiar with the bible that's no problem. Just make sure to let everyone know how much of a "believer" you are (whatever it is you believe). Remember, you have all the answer to all questions, you just need to think hard enough.

Just to be clear, were you talking to Jim here?  Because with his statements about the ten commandments without even knowing that killing was one of them, and his statements that people tell him he can heal via prayer only if he gets paid to do so, and other such statements about god and the bible that I doubt you would agree with, it sounded like these applied (with exaggeration, obviously) to him.

And since atheist vs believer always desintigrates as it has into a boring see-saw, I would much rather hear you set Jim right on his beliefs and Jim set you right on yours.

We are in need of a replacement!  Anybody else interested in jumping into this fun activity?  We've got some fun stories going and need you to join the chain!

I love waking up to stories in my inbox!  And by a twist of fate, one person just got two stories at the exact same time!  Good luck!

Also, I got an email from dualnames this morning saying that he needs to drop out because he's too busy, so I need a replacement!  If anybody else wants to join, just post in this thread, post in the signup thread, or send me a PM!

I played the demo for 3 minutes and then it crashed. Clearly a bit more bug testing was needed

Why did you make this in a huge resolution when the graphics don't require it?  Photos with out-of-perspective pasted in objects, some MSPaint line and floodfill backgrounds, all your objects, cursors, and guis seem to be designed for 320x200 and are tiny and hard to click on.  No offense meant, it's cool that you made and finished a game.  A lot of people can't do that.

And you're certainly entitled to charge for your hard work (assuming those pictures are your hard work), but I would suggest trying a couple free games before jumping straight to commercial.  This would A) make more people know your games and be itching to buy a game you produce, and B) more players would play your early offerings which would help you get a lot of feedback on things you could improve resulting in better games.

That's just my two cents.  But hey, what do I know, I've never released a commercial game and you have! ;)

And for all I know, there's a huge wiccan adventure gamer niche ready to throw tons of money at you!

Also, you should probably change the title of this thread to the title of the game.

I think it's a good exercise no matter where you are in the queue!

[edit]Never mind, just heard from him!

We're 1/3 through now!

Frankly, after recently having a baby in America *while covered by a good insurance plan* and still having to shell out thousands of dollars of hospital costs, I don't understand how poor people have babies...  And I have no idea how people of any financial situation manage to survive with serious diseases.  Especially if you didn't have coverage when you were first diagnosed with the disease.  It would then become completely impossible to get insurance.  So you have to choose between getting treatment or going bankrupt.  And people in this country are worried about the government rationing care... as if that isn't what the insurance companies are doing now...

You're good LGM!  The random number generator that decided everyone's writing order seemed to think that you'd be best suited to the last half of each story.  :P  Sorry for the wait.  The closest one to you is still two people away...

I read them, and still don't know which one states that it's okay (or even good) to stone these people.
3.Mo 20:13 "If a man also lies with a man, as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

I'm a bible literalist, so as long as you do it standing up, you're good.

Oops.  Sorry, must've missed you.  Thought I did! Anyways, you've got in now, so no worries!

A couple names to throw out again.  Still waiting to hear from [Skipped again :(] (again, he got skipped once, and now has a second story), and now waiting to hear from [clear!].  They both have 12 hours from the time of this post to get back to me and tell me that they're working on the story before they will be skipped.

So, if you talk to either of them, give 'em a nudge.
#578
I've been mentioning in each email that each person can either name it or leave it for the next person.  First person to give it a title, bam, that's the title.

Edit:

Things are moving along a bit, though I have had to skip three people so far...  :(

16/60 done!  About 27%!
#579
OK, one person has been skipped, but finally, all stories are on the board.  Some are moving along quite well!

[edited out, no longer relevant]

Edit: Saturday 9:30 AM American Central Standard Time-

Wow, four stories passed back to me while I was asleep.  Props to [Cameron] for the record fastest return!

Not a millionaire quite yet, I'm afraid.

Maybe if you'd actually charge some money for it and not give it away for near-free, thus giving a bad rap to all us other commercial game makers who are going to try to fleece every last cent out of our customers' pockets.  Commies!

(I don't think it's necessary, but just in case, better include a smiley, right?)  ;D

...Of course I paid, (and donated!) and still have not found the time to play this game... The installer icon looks great though, guys.  For reals.
