Hell, I'm in! Just need to find some time to record some lines.

> Open first locker

You open the first locked from the left, and discover it to be identical to the previously opened one.
Emma moves up to the nearest desk and tries to relax.

I'll take a whack at drawing the hambone tonight. You know, it's sort of like a trombone, but made out of ham.

I would call using AA in a low-res game cheating and cheap, but then again I use it in my lighting effects all the time, so I guess I'll just be quiet.

> Say "I think i will be alright to help you, but, Emma I dont remember anything before waking up on level 4. Until just now I didnt even know my own name. Who am I"

Emma looks at you, clearly confused and worried.

Emma: "You... Oh no, that might be the concussion. You don't remember anything? Mike talked about amnesia when he called for help, but we though he was talking about himself. We don't have much time so I'll keep this short, we can try to fix you up better once we are safe."

Emma looks incredibly tired and sick, you wonder if she is losing consciousness again, but she shakes her head a few times and continues:

Emma: "Okay, listen, my name is Emma Watkins and you are Andrey Winogradski. You work as an IT specialist in this facility. We are now on Level 1 of the Main Facility, as far as I know, it's just the two of us up here and on Level 2. There are more survivors down on level 4 and below, at least I hope there are, but we are separated from the because Level 3 is flooded and sealed off. We need to get to them, but if we choke to death before that happens, it's no good, so first order of business is getting the air flow runnig and the co2 scrubbers working again. Thing is, the door of the maintenance room is locked with two latches, one near the floor, another neat the ceiling, and I couldn't get up to the top latch. The maintenance room is on Level 2, down the stairs. I have the key that will open up the maintenance space ins... Wait, where is the key?"

You sheepishly dig your pockets and reveal the small metal key you took from the woman earlier. She looks a little bit flustered, but let's the matter go for now.

Emma: "Oh, ehm. Okay then, looks like you have the key, then. You didn't take anything... else?"

A moment of silence passes, as if to mourn the passing of your reputation in the eyes of this woman.

Emma: "Nevermind that now, get down to Level 2 and see if you can find out why there is no air. Keep an eye out for fuses while you're down there, most of them were blow when the explosion flooded Level 3. I'll rest up for a bit, catch my breath, and see if I can do something up here. Maybe I can get communications working and contact the lower levels..."

Yay! I am 100% supporting this and doing my best to voice any more or less curesy woodland critters you might need voiced! And don't forget playtesting! And I can give you critique of any artwork you might have, the more mammaries the better!

All in all, one of the most interesting AGS game projects I've seen, can't wait to see it finished!

> Say "Emma Watkins, wake up. Say my name if you can hear me."

The woman begins to stir and opens her eyes. She looks confused and ill, and begins to cough.

Emma: "A- Andrey, thank God."

She pauses to cough some more before calming down and taking a few deep breaths.

Emma: "Glad to see you walking about, we were worried about you. Judging by the oxygen mask on my face we're even, the last thing I recall was getting a mask over your face before I fell out of my chair and... Well, it's allright now. How do you feel?"

You weigh your options for a moment before responding:

You: "I'm okay, the hallucinations have passed and the pain is barely noticeable."

Emma: "That was probably the lack of oxygen and the onset of a co2 poisoning. If you start to feel more sympoms, just calm down and take a few deep breaths from the mask. Anyway, glad to hear you're feeling well. Not everyone survives a shot in the head, even if it only causes a minor skull fracture. I had a bit of an argument with Jack about whether or not we should even try to save you considering... No, nevermind that now. I noticed you'd managed to administer some morphine before I got back to you, where did you dump the rest of the ampoule?"

You: "I... uh... I don't remember."

Emma: "Hm, waste, anyway, I took the other ampoule and stored it in the first-aid kit in case we need it later, best keep such supplies in one place for now, we might be seeing more injured coming in later, if we can open up a route down to level four again, that is. But first we need to get some oxygen in here, and we need to get the co2 scrubbers back online, and I need you to help me with that. You think you can do that, or do you need a minute?"

A glimmer of hope

All hope seems to be lost, there has been no way to recover from the terrible things that have happened, but then... Something!

You'll have three rules:
1. The scene must convey a scenario in which all hope has been lost
2. It must also have an element, a single object, that serves to give the player / protagonist that one glimmer of hope
3. AGS compatible

Ideas:
- A barren, dead wasteland of rubble and dust, but alas! A single sapling has poked it's head from the ruin!
- A shantytown for those poor, broken down wrecks that used to be men and women, but in the middle stands a single unbroken building offering aid to the hopeless
- A ship has been lost at sea for weeks, it's decks filled with debris and filth and signs of desperation, but alas! Land in the distance!

Deadline is on the 10th of June for now.

Have fun everyone!

> Pick up and put on OXYGEN MASK

You pick up the OXYGEN MASK from the locker and carry it with you, placing the mask on your face.
As you ensure the mask is secured to your face and the air is flowing without issue, the woman appears to begin to stir, blinking confusedly as she stirs.

Huzzah! My first win in the BG Blitz!  8-) Am I cool now?
I'll take this evening to think up a good theme and will post the new thread tomorrow when I wake up (I won't say morning, though).

Did you notice that the pool table has just gone through the first break of a game of 9-ball, with balls 1 through 9 as well as the stone still on the table? :D I checked the ball colours so the match real ones.

...I murder the annoying characters (Minsc, Aerie, etc)

How... How could you!? Think of Boo! Think of the poor innocent little space-hampster! What will Boo do without Minsc?  :~(

Congrats to LTGiants! I didn't have time to record anything for this one, maybe the next one.  ;)

I don't get angry at the games, not anymore, but I do get angry at the game developers. I keep noticing stuff that, at least in theory, should be easy to fix and avoid, but the game's developers keep rushing head first into all sorts of idiotic attempts at "balancing", "railroading" and "challenging" the gameplay/player in ways that should not be.

Let me give you an example of a time I got PISSED OFF at a game's developers.

Dead Island - The WHAM experience

The game starts, I try out the controls. Clicking the mouse makes my character punch and pressing E makes my character kick. So far so good.
Five minutes later the first enemy of the game appears, and NPC shouts "RUN!". I look ahead and think "meh, there's just two enemies, I can take 'em!". I ready myself, allow the enemies to approach and click the mouse. Nothing happens. I press the E key. Nothing happens.

The game's developers had decided for me that this was the point in the game where I was too scared to fight the enemies and that I was supposed to run away, so the only means of self defense the game had TAUGHT ME were disabled in order to ensure the plot of the game plays out the way the developers wanted it to be played out.

"FUCK THIS!" -I exclaimed and pressed the fabled ALT + F4 combination of keys. Then I played something less irritating.

(To clarify, I am not pissed off about the game wanting to take this direction, I am more pissed off at how it was done. If they could disable my attacks like that, why not make them ineffective until I am actually allowed to use them? The protagonist of the game starts with a hangover, why not make him/her stumble a bit and make the attacks uselessly weak, with the character SHOWING his/her unfit condition near the start, so I KNOW I don't have any means to defend myself until the game tells me the character is good to go?)

The game is coming along nicely. I am currently working on a GUI overhaul to make the user interface easier to use, as well as the near-endless task of making new graphics, backgrounds and animations. All in all progress is slow but steady.

I think representation should correspond to population. If the majority of the population in a country are white, christian, straight and educated, I would expect to see the majority of the government representing those parameters. Seems to make sense. Works both ways, if a nation consists primarily of, let's say, black, transgender, psychich pastafarians, then the leadership should represent THOSE parameters.

...it seems America is heading slowly in the right direction.

Wait, what? When did the world agree on the idea that "yeah, it would be better if all the minorities were represented in government and took office"? Also, do any of the above listed traits really MATTER in political decision making? Shouldn't experience, education, analytical capabilities, charisma and sensibility be more important than sexual preference or skin colour?
#1379
Oh, I misread that as "what does A country..." whereas it seems you typed "what does THE country".
Curse my imperfect english grammar!

Finland had a female presiden (Tarja Halonen), and she was pretty fat, so you can strike those two off your list.
We've also had fat president before (see Martti Ahtisaari).

I'm too lazy to search for links, just google the names if you're curious.
