Has LinkedIn actually helped you guys in anyway and if so, how? All it's done for me is send me some spam email.

Same here so far. I guess if you are looking for a job, you can use it to enforce your CV, but other than that, it's not worth much at least here in Finland.

Haven't deemed my AGS efforst worth mention, although if I manage to release He Watches as a commercial game and make some sales, then I think that would be worth mentioning.

To analyze things: I can see that there are legal and perfectly valid uses for services like Megaupload, torrents and the like, but the fact of the matter is that a great majority of the material being transferred is illegal copies of copyrighted material.

That is known as throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Only if the baby had already stopped breathing and now had writhing tentacles coming out of it's eyes and mouth as it screamed "I will eat your soul!"
To be honest, I would have gladly kept the water but the baby had become too corrupt to risk it.

It seems I am not the only one who believes this is a good thing and a blow against piracy. Good riddance megaupload.

To analyze things: I can see that there are legal and perfectly valid uses for services like Megaupload, torrents and the like, but the fact of the matter is that a great majority of the material being transferred is illegal copies of copyrighted material. As a personal opinion I could have let slide the sharing of material  that could be considered abandonware, (games, movies, books and the like that just aren't available in legal ways) although with the increasing number of re-releases of such material even this justification is fast becoming obsolete.

this need more copyrighted music ;)

Put on the latest Justin Bieber song in the background and you get a nice balance of "sheer horrible" and "awesome pixel art".

ah, this is the music you were listening to while pixeling. I thought you added it to it afterwards. But a speedy version wouldn't be so bad at all, after 5 mins I just clicked through the whole thing. Still interesting though. Maybe you can even add spoken comments. I use quite the same technique, except I don't care about low color count and don't reuse the colors that often. So Photoshop, why is there no sharp 1px erasor tool?

High speed version added: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dZf5HpANqQ

Currently uploading a new version sped up to 3x speed and with no copyrighted music (all music is from my games, so I have rights to them)

http://youtu.be/9dZf5HpANqQ

Should be viewable in a few hours max, depending on youtube.

Rant ON:
This is kind of a general plead...

As I said, I used music I like listening to. There are several different genres from metal to more calm and smooth music, although most of that is sung in finnish. :) No worries, I'll try to keep the videos more simple when it comes to music. It's annoying when youtube blocks the video due to the music so I hope this new version will fix that issue.

Y U NO USE FREE BACKGROUNDMUSIC?

I didn't know what to use, and I just wanted to listen to music I like while recording. I'll probably make a sped up version with no copyrighted music in it (I'll use music from WHAMGAMES games).

I'm trying to find a video that is not available in finland so I can test these workarounds...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PFlMOGvUto

I made a video of me drawing a room from scratch. It's two and a half hours long. Youtube is also screaming at me because it contains so much music owned by record companies in the background.

Take a look, and do give deedback as well. I was close to posting this in the critics lounge at first, but I'm not really looking for critique so much as putting this up to demonstrate my own methods.

EDIT: I just checked the video's information. Youtube is not allowing the video in: Canada, Japan, Montenegro, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Serbia

Recorded myself drawing a room. Intended for it to be 1080p but Youtube only allows 720p for it. Oh well, maybe you can still see all the pretty pixels.

If video is blocked in your country due to youtube being all prissy about the background music: http://www.labnol.org/internet/video/youtube-blocked-video-not-available-in-your-country/2680/

Installed Camtasia trial version and tested it today. I'll be able to record myself drawing one of the rooms for He Watches in a few days from now. and will post the whole thing on youtube in high-def, along with a link here of course. Look forward to it!

Readin a good horror story on the internet (creepypasta), really creeped out.
Alone in an apartment on the third floor of an apartment block, girlfriend is out with her friends, it is 2 AM.

I hear footsteps in the stairwell and rattling of keys at my apartment door. The door does not open. I dismiss the sound as "figment of imagination".

Minutes later, the noises repeat and this time I stand up to go take a look through the peep hole in the door. There are no lights in the stairwell, no sign of anyone outside the door. Nobody in their right mind would be running around in the stairwell without light on in there...

Put on the safety lock on the door, and turned on all the lights in the apartment before going to bed.

It was simple, subtle and perfectly explainable with logic, but still creeped the ever living shit out of me!

@Moogle: After what Icey did in the previous MAGS (I had to read through the thread to understand it all and I was apalled) I'm not surprised at all and I think he should not be allowed to participate in any way or form in MAGS for at least six months, not even as advisor or assistant in a team. But that is for Atelier, the grand master of the MAGS, to decide, not me.

@Ponch: The idea sound great! Colour me interested!  ;D
