Hasn't been an update in a loooonnngggg time.. sorry.. At the moment, I'm revising how the cutscenes are developed and rendered.. I'm also digging heavily into the gameplay, as the story is good, the art is coming along.. but the puzzles kind of suck...

Here is a link to my art blog (recently started to help me organize)

You may see a familiar face buried in there.. however this research pans out...that style will transfer to the cutscenes...

I also plan on doing a prequel web comic, as the story is very enigmatic so as a rosetta stone i'm going to do a VERY short series of prequel web comics that will act as clues for the overall story.. You may ask why this isn't done in game.. but with the way I plan to present the story.. It sort of ruins putting something like this IN the actual game.

Anyway here is the link.. and expect more in game stuff soon-ish..

so basically the wind always blows the characters loose garments around.. as soon as he is finished walking i set his static idle delay to zero so he instantly stands still after walking, and the animated wind billow animation plays...

now are you also saying i can create another idle loop that after say.. ten seconds he stretches then returns to his stand still pose..

the problem is that since the wind is constantly blowing.. the character will always animate in some shape or form...

if i click enough to keep the characters walk cycle going there is no break.. it is only when he stops that he freezes for a few moments before he plays idle animation.. it also does not freeze in the preview loops (walk or idle) it doesn't freeze the game why he pauses either.. it just seems like the game itself is slow to respond to switching the animation from walk to idle...

Alrighty.. new things goin on... :) First off.. This project is a team effort now, I'm proud to say.. the ranks now include:

Mr. Trent R, Lead Scripter and code badass...
Ms. N.M. Music, Composer and lyrical genius..

and of course me... no good pirate, and so so artist. ;)

As of now the world map is pretty well flesh out.. here is a preview of it (A version of this will be in game to help players orient themselves)
Areas further in the game are blurred out and darkened so as not to spoil to much ;)


The Southern Edge (the beginning area) is about 24 rooms at the moment, with no intention of reducing that number so far. :)
Speaking of rooms.. Originally rooms where 640 X 480.. recently I've over hauled many of them to be three times that size, with a most rooms now scrolling back and forth to encourage even more exploration:

Why is there a random pause when my player character goes from walking to idle.. sometimes it's 4 seconds long, sometimes its about 2 seconds.. does AGS support some sort of stopping animation that plays between the walk and idle?

The only reason Kenny looks bigger than Cartman is because poor people tend to buy big sizes when it comes to coats and such, especially for growing boys.. so it lasts longer.. in the picture kenny's head is waaayy bigger than all of them, but thats not his skull taking up all the space is it? No.. it's his oversized parka that better last him a long time.. cause dads gotta keep himself in scotch and ain't got time to buy kenny another coat..

anyways.. In the end it's a doodle. and yeah.. it's why i originally posted it in gen discussion..

but i'm glad you guys are talkin about it.. I only hope you guys give me such a detailed critique on The Wanderer once more media, and eventually a demo come out..

I just got bored and drew it.. its certainly no masterpiece, and I just thought it was funny...

...the stuff we do out of boredom...

Thanks all.. I'm still chuggin away at it.. lots of new BGs, with new items popping up, and whatnot..

and yeah.. the plan is to overlay scanlines on the game, and take em out during cutscenes..

probably drop another update in a week or so..

The scroll's alpha appears to be pretty much on or off.. you may need to look at your png's settings when you save it.. ensuring it's alpha isn't being reduced or simplified when saved..
