Just get microsoft security essentials. I'm using just MSE and and the basic win 7 firewall on my main computer and it works beatifully. Now that I've been using my old computer again, I've remembered how much I hate these 3rd party softwares. I know many of you think that M$ is unable to release anything good, but it's actually interesting how much microsoft has improved many of it's products in the last couple of years. If I remember correctly, a new version of Internet Explorer actually has the best compatibility with HTML 5, which is almost unheard of. Though at least I'm so badly traumatised by doing web developement during the IE 6 era, that although they are slowly winning over my trust, IE will not overthrow Firefox on my desktop any time soon :)

Access would be nice. Name is "Wersus".

Hints & Tips / Re: fragile

Hi,

Seeing that many people are having problems with the puzzles, I just wrote a personal log of Bingler that works as kind of a walkthrough. For many puzzles it doesn't give a straight answer, but hopefully enough hints to solve them.

The log can be found here: http://www.evergrim.com/wfhints.php

PS. I currently don't have access to the game, so I wrote this thing off the top of my head. If there's any mistakes or weirdness, feel free to contact me.

Ah, thanks. Good catch. Uploading new version now...

Thanks. I just uploaded a new version with a couple of noncritical fixes.

This is a very nice game.

+ The world is impressive and feels like it goes on beyond the current location
+ Lots of custom animation
+ The art is beatiful
+ Lots of custom animation (so great to see this that I put it twice)
+ "It factor". This game definately has that special something
+ Respect for doing it for free

- Docks are a bit hard to find

crab, or at least I had to read a hint to find it. Also there's really nothing pointing you to that direction if you know you have to scare the dog, but don't know how to do it (like someone saying he's afraid of crabs or something)

Really enjoyed playing it overall :)

Alrighty then...
The first chapter of my AGS project has finally been completed and amazingly this happened on schedule! This game has been under work for a year now and hopefully all that time was well spent. If you have anything at all to say about the game, please do so, as I'd very much like to know what people like and don't like about the game.
I would also like to take this chance to thank all testers! This wouldn't have been possible without you guys/gals/people!

Warning: Fragile! is (or at least is supposed to become) a trilogy which tells the story of captain Bingler, who is the captain of a space ship called One Eyed Eagle. The story kicks off when Bingler is given a task by his employer to deliver a mysterious package to a far off planet called Earth. During the first chapter the goal is to get the ship off the ground as once again the beloved captain has crash landed when returning from his last delivery mission making the ship unable to take off.

These screenshots are scaled to about 50% of the real resolution

Including...
... A twelve page fully colored user guide (take a look)!
... Over 5 minutes of pre-rendered cutscene animation!
... Several craaaaazy characters!
... funness!

If you played the game, please rate it here and also post your thoughts!

Update on progress and as you can see we are getting very close. But what's more important:

Looking for testers!

The game is almost ready to go to beta testing and some additional testers will be needed! If you would like to test the game and claim your spot in the credits, send me a private message or post in this thread! Please note that this testing will be done on a tight schedule within a couple of weeks from now.

On a side note: I had to cut down my workload a bit and I'm no longer doing the music myself (but this is actually a good thing) :)

Updated progress.

The final DL is now 31st of this month. The remaining 27 days includes testing too, so if everything goes according to my plans I'll have a game that's ready for testing in a couple of weeks (and also someone to test it).

That's one confident captain, with a swagger like that. Looks a little bored the way he's staring dreamily off into space. Maybe needs a little bounce of the antennas as his face is quite static imo.

Looking really, really nice tho;-)

Thanks :)

I'll look in to that if I have enough time later on.

Quote from: Chicky on Sun 25/07/2010 22:15:19How many frames in the walkcycle?
Heh, well currently there are around 20 frames, but I'll probably try to optimize that a bit later on. The good thing with 3D models is that you can easily go from 3 frames to 300 if you want to.

But anyway, the kind of blocky movement you might see in older games just doesn't fit with the graphical layout here, so I'll try to keep the movement as smooth as possible.

Any flaw in that logic? Haven't tried it.
I played around with that idea and at least I couldn't figure out a way to avoid side effects (like the mentioned 1 pixel movement). There was always something a bit screwed.

It might be possible to add a script command to allow you to control the cursor speed, if this is something people would find useful?
At least I would like that very much.
#76
'ello!

Is there any new solutions to this? Changing game speed only makes my cursor movement look bumpy. Is there anything available that would have the same effect as slowing down the cursor from setup of windows? Wouldn't want to bother the player with changing some options to make the game playable...
