Hints & Tips / Re: Quest for Glory 2 questions

Aziza will only fight if you are a wizard - i.e. passed W.I.T and started the game as a magic user. Magic ability alone doesn't count, so you're stuck with Keapon.

No, she will call off the match - BTW I may have given you a bum steer about reversal vs. Ghouls. From memory I think it does affect them, I guess I'll have to replay it to be sure.

Great questions!

No, you have to ask Shameen about the moneychanger immediately to get the english street translations. No, reversal does not work against ghouls, and yes you can wish for above 200 points. Great game isn't it?

If there's anything I can do to assist I will willingly volunteer. It's a long way to come for most of you, so maximise the experience! I know we all get precious little vacation time, and this country is huge - so air travel is necessary within country. I once met some tourists who wanted to hire a camper van to drive to Adelaide from Cairns "for the weekend". It's 2000 miles! 7 times the length of the UK! The roads are crap too.

When I was flying I was often asked "Where would you recommend I go, given that I have a short holiday?" I used to answer (and spoke to an airline marketing strategist about this), you need to see "City, Surf, Reef and Rock." City is Sydney for the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and other tourist traps (have a beer in The Rocks though); Surf is Gold Coast which is Miami all over again - for quality go north of Brisbane to Sunshine Coast; Reef is Cairns, which I love; and Rock is Uluru - expensive and miles from anywhere, an option that is probably not necessary to get the outback experience. I'm currently working on a business plan to combine tourism marketing between NZ and OZ so if you come all this way you should see both. The trouble is both sides see the other as competion, rather than combining to compete against tourist blocs, area destinations as opposed to specific countries.

Let me know how I can assist - PM me if you like. Personally I'd recommend holiday villas in Palm Cove, but it's up to you. I was never a travel consultant. But I can be a great host and guide!

I feel like I'm tilting at Gods here, but Regional pride will prevail and I must take exception to Pumaman's comment:

"Cairns is ok, it doesn't have a beach but it does have some tourist activites like the bleached barrier reef, and the weather should be good. Port Douglas is probably nicer but smaller."

Fair bite of the pineapple doughnut! Cairns city doesn't have a beach, unless you count the fabulous man-made city lagoon, (Google it) but what about the northern suburbs collectively known as the "Northern Beaches"? Namely; Machans Beach, Holloways Beach, Yorkey's, Trinity Beach, Kewarra Beach, Clifton Beach (my home) and Palm Cove? 5 minutes from my door I can walk along pristine sand for half an hour until I get to Palm Cove where I have breakfast under the 200 year-old paperbark trees; trees so treasured that the local buildings are built around them.

Regarding the Great Barrier Reef: Sure some reefs have suffered bleaching, but not the tourist destinations. "My Aquarium", as I call it, is largely unspoilt, and still a major world wonder. Just to give you an idea of its size, when you fly north-west out of Brisbane, after 20 minutes you pass Lady Musgrave Island - the southernmost part of the reef. If you flew for the next 3 and a half hours until you hit Niugini, you would still be over it. Are you really going to come to OZ and NOT see the barrier reef?

Other tourist attactions include the Skyrail rainforest experience, Tjapukai indiginous culture extravaganza, cold beer and nice steak. A word of warning though, if you see water, assume crocadile. Read the signs and obey. They really are out there.

Do you really need accommodation for 16+, or would 4 rooms of 4 suffice, or any other mathematical combination?

Complete paladin spoiler:
Spoiler

You must not have done any of certain dishonorable actions:

Killing Khaveen when he's unarmed.
Taking money from Omar's purse before returning the purse.
Having to be reminded (by Uhura) to return Rakeesh's sword. (You must
return it voluntarily.)
Entering the Metal Worker's House in Shapeir or Khaveen's house in Raseir.
Trying to kill a helpless opponent in your EOF initiation.
Use the X-Ray Glasses where they're supposed to be used.

You should:
Return Omar's lost purse (found in the fountain plaza) on Day 7.
Return Rakeesh's sword without being asked.
Be polite to Aziza and impress her with your manners.
Refuse to kill Walid at the EOF Initiation.
Give money to the beggar more than once.
Once you disarm Khaveen, "Give Him Another Chance".
Use Calm spell on Khaveen.
Do not disturb/kill the Griffin.

I don' t think that the Oasis restores all, only a night "sleep until morning" at the Inn, and I think that doesn't restore all magic. If you return to the inn and share tea with the Kattas you will get the whole story about QFG1 eventually. Defeating Aziza or Keepum will restore all magic points in their games. Tricks to the tightrope? Keep going forward, and watch your dude. When he falls left, a couple of taps right, then forwards again, and vice-versa, but it's TAPS! Don't lean on the button! As an aside, did you ask Sharma about the moneychanger? Have you read the graffitti? There are many games within this game! Have fun 'cause this is a beauty! Forget about the X-ray glasses if you want paladinhood, or save before you use them and then don't use them.

Regarding paladinhood, the first robbery is due to be the silversmith. If you enter that house, kiss goodbye to paladinhood. Regarding Uhura, you can beat her up as many times as you want. I guess you're playing a hybrid character (which I did) so use your lockpicking skills on any door (even if barred) near the Katta's Tail inn because it increases agility and a few other things, then have 30 minutes room rest to increase stamina.

I fear that it is forever fixed. Is this the AGDI remake or the original? I always found it was better to Save Game before a haggle, then see what you can do. It also depends on your preferences, like do you use both interfaces for input? If text parser is there you can get a Saurus for 10 gold, by entering "bargain" a few times. I hope that helps!

There are a few numbers on the transcript. I started with the premise that T.E.N. stands for the names of numbers.
Spoiler
I entered 1089 and got a tape.

It only carried me headlong into the next brick wall though.  ???

Hi morganw!

Nope, I cannot give  you  a clue because I'm as stuck as you. T.E.N. and refer to the transcript. There are a few words with capitals, "Torrential", "Team", "Eastern" and "New". Each letter refers to a number (from the "Clue" I got ), why is "eight years" a hotspot? Dunno...

You are more than welcome. I wish more people would try this game - I wouldn't have if it wasn't for peter. This is adventure gaming at its best, challenging, awesome and fun! It is one of my picks for 2018, and it's voting time.

From memory you have to combine 2 inventory items to make a kind of paint. I'll have to re-play it to be more accurate, so it might take a while.

Thanks for the quick reply, and thanks for a great game! My problem was I had not found the elevator to the left of the cave! I've got to be more observant...

I am really enjoying this game. My score is 69/69 and rooms visited 46/47. I have a full inventory and have received the
phone call. I also have two numbers written down, one I got from a device when I entered a Japanese word, and the other I
read on the back of a door. I am now stuck. The way I see it:
Spoiler
The only place I can enter numbers into the game is the clock in the drawing room. Do I need to alternate the
big hand/little hand as before? Do I enter both numbers, and in which order? Is there a clue that I have missed, or am I
on the wrong track altogether?

Any hints or tips would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
