Are your music files named

MUSIC1

or

MUSIC1.mp3

whatever they are switch them to the other one

Ive got the files named correctly, MUSIC1, MUSIC2 etc, and theyre in the game folder. I actually got a music file to play once or twice then it gave up.
Does it matter which directory I have the AGS program folder?
Ive named the main program folder AGS, and its in the C: directory.
Im wondering if it might be something to do with the D.U.M.B music interface program built into AGS.
Do mp3 files have to have a certain bit-rate to work?

Ive tried just about everything I can think of, but I still cant get any sound output.
Ive only had AGS about a week so Im not into script editing yet.
I set the game to play music when leaving various edges of the screen, It dont!!!
Im using Windows XP on a Compaq Presario Notepad. The sound card is Conexant AMC.
Im at my wits end!!!!!!!!
Ive rebuilt the VOX files and all that.
Oh, and I have got the speakers switched on.
Theres probably some simple explanation.

Can any kind person out there help me out?
Would really appreciate it.

Okay, this is a last resort, but... are your speakers on?Ã,  (Just Kidding)

Really though, have you tried re-building the vox files from the main editor?Ã,  That usually works.

When saving a game file AGS automatically rebuilds the vox files, but I havent tried re-building through the editor.
Will give it a try.

Thanks for your interest.

Have a nice Christmas.

Can you supply the script you're using to call the sounds?Ã,  And have you named them properly (SOUND1, SOUND2, MUSIC1, etc.)Ã,  Also, make sure they're in the right place (game folder, not "compiled" folder) and if all this is right, re-build your vox files.Ã,  Aside from that, like I said, suppply the script you're using to call the sounds so we can look it over.

Thanks for the reply.
I have named the files correctly as you have indicated MUSIC1 etc. I called the sound/music to play when leaving various areas of the current screen, but not a peep from the speakers. I dont have a script as such, I havent really got into that yet. I was wondering if I needed a plugin to make the sound work. I have the sound format selector set to direct x on play settings. I have tried the others with no result.

I cant get any sound output at all, with either WAV or MP3 files. AGS recognises the formats but they dont play. I have a Conexant AMC sound card.
