I still find the black outlines a little garish.

Looking forward to seeing what you can do.   ;)

I've put on many pounds during game dev. season.  :D

I like ducks.
I'm not sure if the duck looks too happy about its hexagonal distortion, but it adds character.  :P

I'm with Leon here.

Since it has spent some time inactive(soz), the Colouring Ball now feels the need to be IN YOUR FACE!

No scaling or warping.
Rotation allowed.
Probably trophies by me(ew) or anyone I can beat into submission(Babar, JimReed, whoever).
Enjoy!

I've been considering buying a Bamboo for some time now, as if I find it useful enough I can get a bigger one, but still have use for the Bamboo.

Get to it, then!

Well then, gentlemen, as you were.  :P
StillInThe90s, you will have to overlook the various squabbles of those with power.
No hard feelings, eh?  :D

'Till Ben answers in person, I hope I can help this 90s man:
From what I know of Ben's art, the particular background drawn in the tutorial is incredibly typical of his style, being a strange mix of matrix-punk and something else. His style isn't fully explained in this tutorial, as it only lays out the basic structure from which he builds the final image. This additive process isn't something that can be easily explained in a tutorial, and practice is really the only thing that can help one add the fine details which are what turns the art from the tutorial into that which you see in his games.
With a few exceptions, Ben's indoor scenes seem to be made much in the same way, simply replacing the background with a more appropriate view.
While I don't pretend to be a Ben-Art-Scholar, I hope this has been helpful.

As a kind of reassurance - if fans can reassure - the sun looks good, the colour is right and the placement adds to the twilight feel(curse that book, ruining my favourite words!).

Then show us what you've got, and more importantly what you've not got, and that is something people Absolutely love giving: Criticism!
Really all you need to get help is to show an interest in what you're doing, be consistent, and be ready to be completely open.

As long as you mostly what it is that you want, and you're not overly seeking perfection(some people find it tiresome), I'm sure that there are many people who would happily do all the art for your game, just make sure you can describe your thoughts well.
Alternatively, I think you could surprise yourself and try making some of the art yourself, as unless you're looking for a specific style(which it seems you're not, as you description of your lack of arty skills seems to say that you've not thought of that side), just do some scribbles. Even the lamest artist can get some surprisingly mediocre results(in a good way) with a little whittling.

Or you could change it to a night scene.
Lovely picture, Pinback, When do we get to see some games?  :D
(unless of course you've already done that and I missed it  :( )

I ran out of downloads a week before renewal. :(
I'm a bit out of the loop, so I might just watch for now.  ;)
