Piano puzzle,
For the musical illiterate.
Spoiler
The red letters are the notes you need to play. The yellow dot marks the first octave of notes where you start this is a C, then DEFGAB are the white keys the right of yellow dot. After this the notes repeat only 1 octave up. Use the numbers as the number of red letters to play then the arrrows tell you go up or down an octave (8 keys) but from your current C not your current note.
So you start at the Yellow C, and play E,E,G then find the C two octaves up, and play E, E, E, find the C 1 octave down from the last C, and play E A E, etc.

I was going to use one of the spare background frames to generate an inventory icon with flies flying around on it, so needed transparency. Got around it with some GUI gigery-pokery though. Still it would be quite a powerful addition imo.
#164
Would it be possible to add a transparency colour to the CreateFromBackground function, or just use (255,0,255) as a transparency? So that this colour is masked out of the created sprite.
I was trying to create some procedural sprites and hit a barrier without this option.

Mouse.SetPosition() is clipping the Y value to the range 0-200, even though the mouse freely moves within the 0-240 range, the 240 letterbox option is greyed out and checked. I've tried using SetBounds(0,0,0,0) and SetBounds(0,0,320,240) but this still happens. Game resolution is 320x240, 32 bit.

Also suggestion for a Mouse.IsOutsideWindow(), to know if, in windowed mode, whether the mouse (i.e. the Windows Mouse pointer) is outside the game window. I want to add a jitter to the mouse but not grab the mouse back if it is outside the game window. Allowing the player to acces the exit application button, or switch to another windows program.

You can access the room objects in a global script, by using object[n]. , same with regions etc.

When I want a real room function to run, I usually setup a global variable, and constantly poll it in the rooms repeatedly-execute function.

Yes, sorry for the delay, there a few reasons, not including power cuts, 1) I'm about to start some contracting work and Bog is handily filling in the days until this starts, 2) on the subject of hands I have a hand injury so cannot work for more than a few hours a day, 3) It keeps growing and growing, have added about 40 new locations and have a heap of new theads that are only just coming together, I had originally just intended to fix bugs and fill out the story a bit, but one things lead to another and I'm still adding bits and bobs. As for a date, well hopefully before April. Sorry I can't be more specific but a lot of issues are out of my hands (in both sences).

I think a limit increase would be a double edged advantage. Admittedly almost every game I've made I've hit the 20 object barrier at some point, though in doing so it has made be think about doing things differently, and sort of forces you to look into the other aspects of AGS, GUI, RawSprites, characters, etc. so I'd opt to leave it at 20 as an inspirational limitation. If that makes sence.
#169
Actually some sort of bookmark system, as goto lines keep changing, would be neat and especially nice would be if the script editor reopened scripts at the same place as they were last closed. Probably too much to ask for, but no harm in trying.

I've deliberately disabled the link until I finish writing/testing the game. Should be up soonish in completed games.

Llyn,
Spoiler
The game ends when you look at the ear. Note the look icon wasn't avaliable until then.

Ah, nevermind I'll just live with duplicate music files.

EDIT: I just thought I'd clarify the problem in the hope it might one day get resolved. If you have have a big game say 50+ rooms, it becomes impracticable to use the test game command as it is too slow. Instead I copy the acwin.exe into the game directory and run it from there (after just needing to do a quick save), this allows instant game testing. Unfortunately as acwin.exe does not look in the media folders, it can't play the music. Seems a shame that this is not catered for as it is such a useful way to test games.

Llyn,

Have you stood on the rock and played EVERY tune you have, so the ear rises out of the water? Just click on the tune icons to play them. When you do this the horn becomes 100 visible and the hippy will have red chalk.

Well it seems a bit odd having to have the music in the root and and Music folder yet the sounds just in the Sounds folder. Make sence to me if acwin looked in the music folder.

Llyn, Not sure what you're stuck on, so
Sun tune.
Spoiler
Talk to hippy, and join dots to make a guitar, (1st dot on righthand side of blackboard, slightly lighter colour) interact center of guitar(blank area) to get it to play, cross wire, enter water use rim of glass, use remote(with fruit dropped on it), enter water use rim again, goto rock in sea, play horn. If horn not fully visible, stand on rock and play all the other tunes.

Sorry if this has been reported, but Acwin.exe (I've copied it to the games folder for quick testing) still looks for music in the root directory and not in the new Music folder.

Yeah, go on and make a game. Your graphics will improve, not that their at all bad anyway, with time, so why not release some games along the way.

ness,

You are using the runes on the stone, and not the egg?

Yeah the drool thing is a bug, I forgot to empty the bowl after you use it on the moss, so you are still carrying it at end.

An Humala is a small rodent like, tree dwelling, creature native to AGS-72, along with the Sagophink which is most commonly pink, though it is believed that blue ones do exist, or rather did exist many years ago. It's still a debateable topic in AGS-72 ale houses.

Rosie,

Spoiler
I just wondered if anyone figured out the order of runes in the Dragons Lair, logically, from the clues, rather than by trial and error.
