Messages - Yo Mama!

Well, making a good website is a lot of hard work. I doubt you will find a designer for free. If you want a site that is primarily made up of graphics, then you will probably never find one. I suggest you download Fireworks and Dreamweaver and do it yourself. It's not all that hard to learn, but it takes quite a while to make a good-looking site. My site (http://madmanmadness.tripod.com) looks simple because I hate graphics sites with a passion, but there are tons of hidden scripts all over (Like the right-click menu that I wrote by HAND and took months to get it how I wanted!). That takes lots of time and energy, which is unfortunately pretty costly.
I suppose I could help you out some every once in a while for free, since I have nothing better to do. I think I am pretty highly qualified. My Web Graphics and Design teacher said I was one of the best students he had ever had. I know Fireworks, Dreamweaver, and Flash extremely well.

(P.S.- this is my 100th post. WOO!!!)

General Discussion / Re:The coolest sig ever!

I don't know about everyone else here, but I like my various signatures that I have created over the months. They are short, sweet, and to the point. Plus they seem to make people happy! Any questions or comments about them?

Hints & Tips / Re:Older games question

The older games SHOULD work on XP. I've been using it since the first day it came out and I haven't run into any problems yet. But if you do come across a problem, it's not exactly hard to run in compatibility mode. It takes about 2 seconds  ;).

You win, general public! I worked all night to finish it. I finished the guide allot quicker than expected  ;D. I had to completely re-do the whole thing. Apparently someone thought that the file was useless and deleted it off my desktop  >:(. No matter, the new one is 5x better than the old one  ;D. It's interactive and everything  :o! You can download the .exe file off my Downloads page. It's the third one down. Don't worry; it has no viruses or ad ware or anything. McAfee has scanned it.

Well, it appears that only a select few have completed the game. Nearly everyone who has played the game can't get all 50 pieces, so I guess I will make a cheezy walkthrough of where the candies are located. It may be done in next to no time, or I may just renounce it again, but I'm not guaranteeing anything.

Well, I can't really answer that, since I don't know which ones you have found so far. Just check in all the places you didn't check before. Did you actually make it to the bum before you gave up on looking for the cadies? Because they go on until the closet in the kids' room.

The closet that the key goes to is in the kids' room (the blue one with toys on the ground).

Well here's the deal on the walkthrough... I started on it, and when I got about halfway through, I noticed my games weren't exactly getting good reviews, and not many people have downloaded them, so I figured Why even Bother? I figured that the walkthrough would only provide what you can get easily off these forums, so it seemed to be a big waste of time and effort. Sorry, but I'm afraid that I will not finish the walkthrough any time soon. I may get bored one day and work on it and finish it, but don't expect anything anytime soon.  :'(

Well, I could have earlier, but I just deleted the whole script since it irritated me so much. Sorry! :(

So what would the whole thing look like all togeter? I tried to put it all together, but it gave error messages like "Expected (" so I fixed it, but then it said "Unexpected (", so I'm pretty much completely lost.

Your monitor probably can't support the resolution, the display hertz the game is set to, or the color depth the game is in. I had the same problem, but my monitor said "Out of Frequency Range". Try fiddling with the options, and if that doesn't work, your monitor is probably too old or something.

My own custom GUI

Ok, that helped a little, but how do I get it to work when you press enter?

In my game, I have a computer screen with a text box that you will need to put a password in. How can I make it so it goes to the next room ONLY if the person types in the correct password and presses enter?

Beginners' Technical Questions / 800 x 600 BGs
Fri 12/03/2004 23:45:28
I have a simple question: How do I get my 800 x 600 resolution bg's to take up the WHOLE screen? My computer is set to 800 x 600, and my games rooms are 800x600, but when I play the game, there is a big black border around the room, and it scrolls when you walk. I want the room to take up the whole screen, with no borders or scrolling anything. There is no option on the setup screen or anything. It only goes up to 640 x 480.

OK, there is 50 pieces of candy total. The remaining 15 that you can't find are in the stairwell, behind the mad man picture (the mad man logo). You need the broom from the basement to get to it. Just use it on the picture BEFORE you get the key. There is no dead body, or anything strange about that wall. It's all in your mind. If there is "clues" about it, it was a complete and phenomenal coincidence. But a dead body hidden in a wall, that's a good idea for my next game...

Well, I think I'll just give the answer away.
Spoiler
You DON'T need to break through the wall in the basement. The broom should be used to poke the picture of the man in the straight jacket in the stairwell (the mad man logo). It should bring you to the secret room with 15 pieces of candy in it.

You can't get those keys. They just are there to make the house seem weirder.

All candies that are glued down still get added to your counter, as you may have noticed, so that's not a problem. If you find anything else that's glued down, that means that you are not meant to have it, or it has no purpose. It's just there to add to the game.

You should have no reason to go back outside the front doors, since there is nothing of value out there except that one piece of candy in the old man's house, but you obviously already got that, since your in the mansion.

You DO go to the hotel, but all the candy is inside the house. Read older posts to figure out how to get the secret pieces and such.

Keep looking, and you will find all of the keys and candy, but remember, you CANNOT beat the game unless you have ALL 50 PIECES!
