I love this thread! Even though I have nothing new to share, it's so exciting to see all these snapshots of creative work.
..... and somehow I am very attracted to naked hamster's bunny game :D Mr. LimpingFish, low res?? No CGI? *mind blown*

Really? That's gorgeous, JJS!

Well then I suggest, you build a McCarthy (or whatever game you're currently into) cab. Make it a bartop with custom keys, a touchscreen and put pretty decals on it. Then sell it on eBay and make a fortune :D
#1043
1) Send it to me, since I have to wait forever to get one too :D
2) Put it into a broken Speccy and impress your friends
3) Build a tiny arcade cab and let it play Quake 3
4) Attach an LCD module and have fun that
5) craft a tiny mediacenter
6) Port AGS to ARM linux, in case allegro is cool with that. Then do what Ben said :)

Jepp, this happens because of the GUI's multi language feature. So you don't need to change the graphics in the AGS editor but in the code. Go to guiscript.asc, scroll down to line 540 and change the sprite numbers there too.

I suppose you didn't switched over to italian (which can be done in line 15 of guiscript), so you need to adjust the english buttons.

An easier way would have been to just replace the english GUI sprites with you custom ones.

--edit: I just spotted, that you imported your sprites with the top left colour being transparent. That's why you're having this pink highlight in the gui editor. When you import sprites, you can also choose to leave the transparency as-is.

Awesome idea! I hope to see it implemented soon .

* abstauber is dying to get to know for which game this might be

Happy Birthday Bici and Davy!
And happy belated to Wyz and Matti! I hope you had a great day :D

Ah bummer. We're landing on the check-in day at Santa-Ana Airport. So our roadtrip will be post mittens - but hey, until then I can listen to all your gruesome LA driving stories :D

Btw. can anyone recommend a good car-rental company?

Oh well, I don't think I'll ever miss "what is" and "turn-on / turn-off". But of course most people here are fine with two interactions + walking(Use/Look), so why not 12 verbs :) Anyway, good luck with your project!
#1050
If you call it scripting it only sounds half as bad :D But I'm afraid you can't avoid some basic scripting to achieve stuff.

Btw. The video-tutorials also cover quite a lot advanced stuff later on.

Edit: Oh - Khris already took care of this. But since I already wrote an answer, here it goes :D

-9 Verbs GUI only or is possible to extend to some more actions? (the Indy 1989 game actually had 14 actions!)
Of course this is possible - the actions are just limited to the number of GUI elements (I don't have the exact number handy, but it's above 30). But since you're just starting, I suggest that you make yourself comfortable with GUI as it is until you dig deeper into the code.

-I'm know stuck with backgrounds, how to create zones where the guy walk behind (like arcs, passages, walls etc...)
As long as you don't have any specific, just try the tutorial or manual:

-I must use the original interface GUI or can I change some panels (for example the options button) without destroying the game. Because I've alredy tried to eliminate some panels and the GUI ingame was totally messed up! :)
Sure you can :) I you're unexperienced, just swap the sprites - that way you won't break much. But as said above, first try to get a feel how everything is connected. I bet your game can live with a non-fitting option key for a little longer ;)

Yesterday I played the DayZ-Mod (Arma2) for the first time... oh those past memories of raging amiga me ;)
At first no servers let me connect, then a zombie bit me and I was bleeding. And of course I didn't know how to bandage myself, so I read it up in the manual. But you can't pause the game so I bled out, died and respawned somewhere else and got shot.

RRRAAAGGGEEEE, I tell you! For the first time in years. Still I mysteriously had fun.

That reminds me to apply for an international drivers licence. Is it so much trouble to drive through LA? The only bigger city I frequently drive through is Hamburg.

That roadtrip is post-mittens activity, right?

Oh.. and Christina and I apply for a double bedroom as well :)

Maybe you could give Speedfan a try:
http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

Maybe this tool can tell you why you're fans are going nuts (including groupies  := ) The website even promises that you can control the fanspeed with it.

Well, I've found a Chipset driver and a bunch of integrated graphic drivers at the intel download center.
Just search for Intel 82945G Express Chipset.

Are you looking for anything specific?

My job actually is to"stay inside at the computer"  :-D
Well, at the office without air conditioned or anything. So most of the time, the temperature inside is way higher and than outside and makes working a pain -  and I hate this fact for 10 years.. nothing to do with age ;)
#1057
Hey thanks!
I used an intel dn2800mt. It's graphics core is called GMA3650, it's suppsed to be "alright", but the drivers aren't fully there yet. DX9 works fine though, the machine only crashes at DX5. Oh and the 3D performance is also very poor - just 1 fps at 3D Mark 2006.
But on the other hand, watching movies in 1080p already works pretty good. So if your NES is going to be a media station, I think that board wouldn't be a bad choice.
#1058
Oh cool, 3.2.1 works. So yeah, it's linked with the wrong version number here:

http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/AGS.aspx --> Older versions and other downloads >> AGS 3.2.1 plain zip file
#1059
No file here:
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/AGS-3.1.2.zip

Sorry if it has already been reported.
#1060
Nah, it's just shifted, I sold the still working board on ebay. But you do have point, recent vintage games like JimSlim on the C64 aren't selling to bad either.
To be honest, I had to think of your Vic-20 First-Person-Awesomeness, while I was doing this.
