Here's the offline version ;)

http://rapidshare.com/files/451286805/AGSAwards2011.zip (132 mb)

Sorry about the host, I hope there'll is a "youtube director" around who can upload this 1:50 hrs file there.
#1282
Hooray, that was fun!

@SPC Just in case something goes wrong, I have that 1GB data block too. Does anyone have a Youtube director account or should it be the first legal movie on rapidshare? ;D

Happy Birthday, Arjon! :D

Oh, one last question: since we have a high-res background here. Which resolution/size should the characters have?

As much as I'd like custom avatars it's off-limits, as time is ticking away.

You mean it's too late to send you .chr files?  :'(
#1286
Yeah, I don't want to miss this either. Plz sign me up!
#1287
Hmm... your screenshot still looks like you've somehow activated custom dialog rendering.

Please check if you code contains a function called: dialog_options_render.

And mog.net still spelled "server" wrong in his signature and below his avatar.

Yeah, I bet he meant sewer  :=

Anyway, I'll give it a go too - my first icey game. Woo ;D

I love the wacom, it's so bad :D

But seriously, the wacom tablets are great. If you're on a tight budget, you could also get a Graphire. They're not as fancy as the bamboos, but technically I can't make a difference.

Just wanted to let you know, that 1.3 is finally out.

Thanks to all translators :)

edit: I hope AGS 3.2 is soon officially announced, so I can ditch the 3.1 support :)

Icey Cold Medina wrd!

Well, first of all I'd suggest to use the new template and replace the graphics in case you need the DOTT verb graphics.

It will be hard to get support for this outdated and unmaintained template ;)

To answer your question: You don't need to import this function in the main script, as this should be done in the script headers.

So if you add braces and remove the import, you should be fine better ;) But please consider using the 9-Verb GUI or a recent maniac mansion starter pack.

I like the flat coloured version with the gradient background best (not the background, just the sprite ;) )

Dithering would make your animation job harder and the flat colours already look cool.

Just one thing, try to move the light source on top (like Khris did). It looks more natural on your backgrounds since I guess you'll never have light completely from the left or right.
#1295
Alright, I'm glad that this is solved then :)

Since this is just a GUI template and not the whole SCUMM deal, I'll resist from integrating the walk/movement code ;)
#1296
Seriously? Then I still didn't get your problem. The issue I thought was your problem happens in the default template too.

So could you please elaborate on your problem again? For dummies please :)
#1297
Ah I think I know what you mean. You click like crazy at one point, but instead of moving, the player is just animating until you stop clicking.

Well... that's the default walking behavoir of AGS and also happens in the default template.

You could catch the mouse coordinates, check if the character is already moving in that direction and override the processclick command. But I'm not too sure about the side effects. Maybe you should ask this at the tech boards :)
#1298
Hmmm... I can't replicate this (AGS 3.2) and I clicked like 2 minutes on the same spot.
Roger never totally stopped walking or animating. Anyone else having this problem?
#1299
Thanks guys! This is still the best place on the net ;D

@Ascovel
Yep, the older you get the harder it is to find sufficient toys. I suppose if I got this during my childhood, I would have turned into that N64 Kid :)

@Steve
But going commercial? I don't think I'd have the breath to negotiate with the chinese mass production industry... and who would pay 400 USD for a mini cab anyway?

@Wyz
Maybe I should go back to AGS 2.6 and use DosBox if I ever write games for it (or simply learn to use SDL). Wine has not been ported to Dingux at this time.

@Peder
Yeah, a mini pinball is indeed very cool. But as Pocket Lucho (the guy from YT) wrote, it's very pricey. I estimated around 800 - 1000 eur (Intel C2D, 2 screens etc.)
#1300
I guess most of you have some hobbies, only the internet can appreciate ;D

For that reason please consider taking a look at my mini arcade cab here, which I've finished earlier this year.

Btw. I'd really love to see the AGS engine on Linux, so I can finally write a sequel to Aeronuts and build a SCUMM cab afterwards.
