So, anyone else using this template? I am really happy with it. :)
Has the view been fixed as I posted above?

Well, I still don't see a problem. In my template all cursors utilise view 100, including the pickup cursor. Also creating a new game from the template doesn't break the view numbers.

What I didn't like, though, was the black background during dialogs. I didn't find it fitting the rest of the interface. So I made this background instead
Nice! The only thing bugging me is the outer frame (at least right / left / bottom). But it really looks better that way. I shall include it :)

Hey,
here's another late time entry for the db.

http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=download&game=1238&mirror=1

I'm a bit too lazy to closely read the entire thread, so I hope you're still accepting entries.
And sorry that I have nothing to add to this thread expect: great idea ;)

Just wanted to let you know, that I've included wiz' awesome joystick plugin.

If you hit F2 during gameplay you can choose your detected game controllers and assign the buttons. I've only tested it with my trustworthy Gravis Gamepad, so there are just "digital" movements.

I'm excited to hear how it works with your controllers!

(and by the way, this still doesn't run very well on Atom CPUs)

...or you build a cintiq yourself :D

I've recently bought an Intuos3 A3 (gigantic), simply because it's cheaper (on ebay) than A4 tablets. I guess people have small desks. Before that I was happy with my Graphire4, but I only used it for photo touchups and collecting dust.

@Khris: Does this Wacom Penabled technology have pressure sensitivity as well?

Just take a look at the readme file. It's contains almost everything you need to know.
Also the autocompletion hints added by wyz are really helpful.

As for an example, I've almost done including the plugin to my platform engine. I'll upload it this evening, so you can take a look.

QuoteExpress doubts by all means, but stating that something isn't viable as a background or sprite is a bold claim...

@Loominous:
Now that I re-read my statement it might sound a bit too harsh. But still, even though I don't have half your talent, I definitely can compare your work to other talented artists.

That being said, congrats to your well deserved win :)

Idea: Kelma Does the troll wait for a truckload of goats? :D

Design: Loominous I simply love the silly use of signs :) Apart from that the composition is great as always

Technique: Loominous I just wonder if that technique could ever create crisp images...

Functionality: Mad I would go for Loominous as well, but it's way to blurry for a real game. Mad's entry also has an easy viewpoint, so a character's sprite would fit in nicely.

Wow! Thanks for creating this awesome plugin!

I somehow missed this thread during my vacation. Let's see how it works for that platform engine.

Time to search for my Gravis Gamepad  Pro :)

Home is wherever you roll out the "carpet" :)
#1432
Wow  :o You've finally finished it!
Congratulations!!!

I hope I'll find some time to play around with it soon. Does it already have some AI like pathfinding integrated?

Anyway, it's great to see this coming to life!

Are you sure you haven't mixed up cursor modes and views?

I tried to reproduce this, but I even didn't manage to get a view 7 ;) The first view I try to create in a blank template gets no. 17.

The cursor mode 7 is used for the wait cursor and contains a blank sprite. Every time a blocking event is triggered, the mouse cursor switches to "wait". After the event is over, the mode gets changed back.

Or could it be that the sprite slots have changed in guiscript.asc? (line 14 and 15).

You can also send me your game so I can take a look at it.

yep, that should work. It has a "Special Recovery Function" for common filetypes and I guess PC Inspector is able to re-create the file headers for those files.

But as long as the .vox is undamaged, it should be possible to recover it as well.

yup. there is some recovery software but all of them cost money. oh well, fucked up days!

Nope!

This one is free :)

Btw. a tool called UFS explorer even works with damaged drives, as long as they are spinning up and detected by the bios.
Well, at least in my case.

Yay, I made it into the collection :D

Great idea to collect all those backgrounds. What have you done about the "2d adventure data loss" ?

General Discussion / Re: AI for AGS
Fri 09/07/2010 09:27:08
I've only implemented a very basic AI to my platform engine, something like:

if guy is in view, shoot - if edge is in front of feet, turn around.

So I won't be any help, but this site has some good hints and algorithms:

I've just tried it without a problem on AGS 3.2 Final5.

New Game -> 9VerbMi Style Template -> Global Settings -> Resolution set to 640x480

After that you need to re-import/change the backgrounds in the rooms 1 and 2 because of the resolution change.

Voilá :)
