Okies, thanks for all your input.

Well, if nobody wants to make a paintover (which never seems to happen, when I post something here), I'd say it's time to move on.

Yay :)

Ah, thanks for clarification.

I've uploaded two more variations, one with the suggested coat, the other one with a shoulder free shrug (or  sleeves or whatever :)
#1463
hehe, yeah. How knows when we finally release that game ;) So maybe it's the best to stay away from too stylish trends...

and what's a shrug??  :D

Alright, maybe I keep it the way it is now, although Kate Blanchett's haircut in Indy4 is awesome :)

@cat
If you would have to wear a bolero to this dress, which colour would that be? I'd assume something bright to create a contrast, but who would trust a guy with one pair of shoes*  ;)

(*one pair per task)

Hehe, her face is lighter because I already had a version done and drew the nude version just to attract some viewers ;D Also I assume, powder would do the trick :)

@cat
Great idea to catch the hair colour on the clothes. I've read it just before I've updated my post :)

@anian
Nazi style like Dr. Elsa Schneider?

edit
@cat
Lol, such a foolish mistakes ;D

I never match my shoes with the rest of clothes, simply because I only possess one pair per season ;)

Wow, that pixel Jaffar is incredible!

Thanks for all your input, at least for Disney I get a picture how colouring bad guys work :)

High heals + golden accesoirs should fairly improve her evil outcoming, altough I don't think I can pixel a convincing haircut... let's see. But at least now I have a very good base to start with.

Thanks! :D

Oh yeah, this should be mentioned :)

Hey,

I'm trying to create a female antagonist and having some creative troubles.
Since posture is somewhat limited due to advanced animation lazyness, I need to rely on evil clothes. But all I come up with are pinstripes and sunglasses.

I'm currently pretty clueless, that's why she remains undressed for now ;D

Can you help her out finding some fancy evil clothes?

Cheers!

QuoteOkay I read it and from what I understand all I need to do is put this in the credits?
Nope, not even that :)

It's enough to keep the credits inside the header file. So yes, no retail player will ever see it ;)

I assume you'll get sued for the cheap try of avoiding the license fee :)

@Thread
As far as the 9-verb template, mentioned by Dualnames is concerned, of course you can make commercial games with it.
There's a license text inside the script header, which you can read if you're still uncertain.

Using the "technology" is fine, trying to sell a maniac mansion(mania) game on the other hand might bring you in trouble.

@NsMn
Lucasfan used Prosikrito's script as a base too, right? ;)

Happy Birthday, Rulaman! :)

Topic 1:
Maybe I'm just looking for a lame excuse to learn some tcl :P

@cat: At least for me, the thing has a slightly higher priority ;)

Topic 2: Where to store the config file
As far as I know, SSH's module creates a new .cfg, saves the game, quits the game and the vbscript re-runs the game again. The module checks for the savestate and loads it.

QuoteIn addition to asking for an option to store the CFG file in the Save Game directory we could also ask for the ability to reload the cfg file and restart a game. from within it's own script.
We should do both ;)

I just hope that adding it on the wishlist will help.

Topic one:
Right, let's focus on this one again.
The idea of storing everything customizable inside a xml file sounds good. It just also sounds like a lot of work... anyone wants to do it? ;D

As for myself, I'd still somehow favor tcl. It also supports i18n stuff and the script can directly be changed all the time. But since I never started a serious project in .net I can't really evaluate the workload.

Topic two:
A feature request allowing to store the .cfg in "my saved games" would do the trick.

To be precise, the setup routines aren't provided by winsetup.exe. ALL it does is to launch "GAMENAME --setup".

Argh, I got the default answer.  :=
Yes, this knowledge is widespread all over the board.

My question was targeting more in the directon of creating a replacement that does things better (translation support, masking features like DX9 etc.)

@cat
QuoteWell, I'm not sure a new program will fix the main problem, namely not being able to write the a file in the gamefolder.
Yep, this problem can't be fixed unless AGS gets an option to load config files from a different directory.
#1479
Good news!
I suppose when the first PLATENG featuring games are being released, most of today's netbooks are already broken ;D
#1480
Hey,

due to the recent discussion about winsetup I've started to think about how much sense it would make to simply clone it.

It shouldn't be a big task since the cfg file is already well documented.
The more important question for me is: which language / toolkit combination is the best for the job.

* AGS launcher game with ssh's module
Some people block vbs, doesn't work with the linux port

* Visual Studio Stuff (C++, J#, C#, VB etc)
might need a runtime, needs to be compiled -> not easy to customize

* tcl/tk
crossplatform, easy to script, interpreted script -> easy to customize, ugly

Well, my current favourite is tcl/tk - but I bet there are tons of other languages/interpreters/whatsoever which can do the same job.

What do you think?
Does it even make sense?
