For dithering, there's always DepthDither, which is free.

So if your crippled Photoshop can handle plugins, this might be an option.

Get it here:

Deluxe Paint 2e:  Borders and Patterns

Because of the recent indy games discussion I felt like I should re-release this one :)

Indy gets lost in Schloss Brunwald. He realizes, that he can only leave this chamber, if he can rescue a certain celebrity...

You might need Dosbox for this one.

Get it from here

Guidelines from back then:
- One room (CRM file)
- Any number of characters or objects
- A photographic image of a famous celebrity!

however I am aware that people get a bit wary when two different methods of illustration are used in a single game.

If you're background are getting crisp enough, I don't see a problem. However I don't care much about visible brush strokes in fullscreen ;)

I'd like to add Neole - for still hosting that upload space and for making 2Dadventure.com ages ago.

Also Ben and Sebastian for teaming up with me and Jens, Stalwart and Miez for their DeluxePaint / Pixel Art tutorials.

Hey 1$, this actually very nice (girls might say cute). Does this disc still work? As soon as I started draw a fancy sticker for my first adventure, the disc had read/write errors. So the disc is the only thing left of my first (text)adventure.

PS: I should really rename this thread ;)

Still I wonder why DP stays that popular. It's not that the Autodesk Animator Pro hadn't had it's moments, for example it's usage in the Feeble Files.

Anyway, excellent work and I really enjoy, looking at Dpaint backgrounds in that quality. Btw. why not opening a dpaint-shrine thread - there's a lot of material floating around this board, why not concentrating it :) ?

You're really doing this with deluxe paint  :o
You know, like no layers, only one undo and such?!
Wow ;)

If you work with layers and lock your transparent pixels before shading, it's not too hard.
His rim light is pretty neat though :)

Site & Forum Reports / Re: New AGS Website

Another neat feature would be to make the characters dynamic  :=

So forum members could upload a character to a pool and the webserver creates a new banner on a per day base (or shorter if traffic and cpu-power allow it)

Maybe somekind of approval board would also be necessary, so we won't see tons of viagra pills on the banner ;)

Nevermind, I've found it here:

Thanks anyway and also thanks for that Screenshot, Ghost. :)

Cool, thanks a lot! As of today I've only used custom patterns and filled them - lets see, how this brush thing works :)

As for the tutorial, I was looking for. It was something cobble stone related with seamless tiles. I think the author was filling the road in front of the scumm bar with it, but I'm not sure.
#1994
Another art related thing...

how do you conveniently texture big structures like a cobblestone road. I think there was a tutorial around, but I can't find it anymore.

Oh and yes, pixel art hints are preffered ;)

Now that's a stupid filler...

Next: Where's Waldo/Wally Krueger ?

Finally I've found some time to finish this too.

Very well done and all my thumbs up for this one! It reminds a lot at those gobliiins games from Cocktail Vision, back in the 90s.

Oh and about Kult: From the atmosphere, Kult has been top notch, but after finishing the trials, it was just unlogic, unfair and almost impossible to beat.

Sorry for digging this up - just wanted to say hi as well.

Oh and is there a mirror for Richard Longhurst somewhere? I'll trade it in for your first avatar pic  ;)
