Drat!, overlooked this line in the manual, sorry:

QuoteNote that the maximum length for the name of an inventory item is 24 characters - if the name you set is longer than this, it will be truncated.

If you still want long names, this problem may be worked around by coding your own text display instead of @overhotspot@ and reading item name from a custom property or an array in script etc.

Using ags v3.5.1.10
My game has a resolution of 320 x 200
I have a topbar with label, both 320 width
The label uses @OVERHOTSPOT@ as Text which uses the default font eFontNormal
I have an inventory item with the Description "newspaper article from the box"

Now when I run the game and I hover over this item, the label shows "newspaper article from t" instead of "newspaper article from the box"
"newspaper article from t" takes up about only half of the total screen width aka available label space.

This happens with all inventory items that have a name that is over 24 characters long
Is there a restriction on @OVERHOTSPOT@ of max 24 characters (spaces included)?
I haven't noticed this before in previous projects, but I might never have used such 'long' inv.item names before...

Same thing when using build build 3.5.1.9.

I have a scolling room and a character following the player character using 10 for dist and 60 for eagerness.
Now when the player character walks and the room is scrolling, the following char always walks in a stuttering way.
Is there a way to make the following char walk as smooth as the player character?

Here's the movement values for both characters (both have the same values):
AdjustSpeedWithScaling: True
AnimationDelay: 4
DiagonalLoops: False
MovementLinkedToAnimation: True
MovementSpeed: 4
Solid: True
TurnBeforeWalking: True
UniformMovementSpeed: True

When turning off MovementLinkedToAnimation for the following character, he still stutters while following the player character.

EDIT:
Mmhh, never mind.
Turning off MovementLinkedToAnimation for both the player char and the following char (and set movement speed to 1) seems to fix the issue.

Mmhh, might that be the demo game called 'James Peris 2'?
If not, there's a demo game called 'Island Quest' and another demo game which is the 42th RON game named 'Time Out'.

In stead of uploading you can link (some of) the pictures that are on your itch game page.

Je artwork ziet er geweldig uit en een adventure game met combat system (adv/rpg hybrid) is altijd tof. Love de palette keus van de achtergrond (bos, bergen en lucht) in de eerste 2 screenies.
Ben benieuwd naar de release!

Lovely artwork and an adventure game with a combat system (adv/rpg hybrid) is a right down my alley. Love the palette choice for the background (forest, mountains and air) in the first 2 screenies.
Can't wait to see this one being released!

I don't have that resolution option, tried some 1024 x 600 and 1280 x 768 tough, and it does not work.
Mmhh, demo4 runs fine on my laptop using 1280x768, can't check 1024x600 cause my laptop doesn't offer such resolution.

As Crimson Wizard noted, you could try to run the demo in windowed modus.
Just edit config.cfg and change 'fullscreen' from 1 into 0.

If that fails too, you can try dgVoodoo, as Crimson Wizard also noted.
Run dgVoodooSetup.exe and try Fullscreen with 16bit depth

I tried to come up with something but failed so far, so Creamy you can host the next one if you want so.
Sorry.

Have you tried running demo4 after changing the laptop's resolution to 1280x800?

Ever since I can remember I have eaten meat....
me too, but not on a daily base though.

Quote from: Slasher
For the past few years I have been concerned about weather it is right or wrong for animals to be slaughtered for food on a commercial basis..
IMO it is definitely wrong. It became an industry (for a long time already) with no respect to the animals.

Quote from: Slasher
Some say meat is part of a humans natural diet whilst others say we can obtain the protein we need from other things such as nuts...

This concern is probably why many are turning vegan..
That's something else. It's ok to be vegan, but I thing there's also nothing wrong with eating meat. As long as one doesn't eat XXL portions and not on a daily bases.
Also, everyone should by it from a reliable source instead of 'as much as possible for as cheap as possible'.
People often say the government should do something about the supermarkets selling cheap meat. I think that's the other way around. People should not buy such meat. Simple.

Quote from: Slasher
I also worry what would happen if animals were of no longer use to farmers (except for milk, wool etc)....Farmers would surely suffer financially etc..
No, the farmers aren't the real problem, so they should still exist. It's the industry around it kept alive by the greedy people who want much for almost nothing...

if everyone who wants to eat meat just:
- buy less
- buy better quality
- want to pay a normal price (no cheap meat)
- buy from a source that guarantees the animals had a normal life
- buy from a source that guarantees the animals aren't been slaughtered in a way that is pure torture.

Just my 2 cents  :)

On what device (pc/laptop/other) do you try to run the demo?
What is the resolution your system is running in?

Make your own minds up...

Please don't spread false info, Slasher. That RT-PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 was specifically designed to identify the presence of that type of coronavirus, no other, which makes that video unrelated to Covid19.

I use bandicam, a free version can be downloaded but has a limit of 10 minutes per video and a watermark.

Thanks arjOn! First three work great with your instructions, but demo 4 is not working no matter what I do.
Strange, since demo4 is just a win32 application and should therefor run fine from XP to Win10.
It might have to do with your system, for example your graphic card.
You might wanna try to update your graphic card driver...

BTW, when you try to run demo4, a file named ipscumm.log should be created.
This log file probably contain specific info on why the demo doesn't run correctly on your system.

Have you managed to make them run? I can't do it on Windows 10.

Yes, you can run all 4 demos on a Win8 and Win10 machine. Below is how  :)

First:

  • Demo 2 and 3 do require a DPMI server in order to run, download cwsdpmi.zip here
  • The first 3 demos run fine using dosbox, the easiest way is to download and install D-Fend Reloaded (which is an easie to use front-end for dosbox which comes with a dosbox installation) and install it.

Then:
Indiana Jones - The fate of Atlantis II (demo 1) pathdemo 14-01-1999:

  • drag 'n drop RUNDOS.BAT to D-Fend Reloaded, and run the game.

Indiana Jones - The fate of Atlantis II (demo 2) ipscumm11 14-01-1999:

  • unzip cwsdpmi.zip and copy CWSDPMI.EXE to the demo folder
  • drag 'n drop ATLANTIS.EXE to D-Fend Reloaded, and run the game.

Indiana Jones - The fate of Atlantis II (demo 3) beta6 27-10-1999:

  • unzip cwsdpmi.zip and copy CWSDPMI.EXE to the demo folder
  • drag 'n drop ATLANTIS.EXE to D-Fend Reloaded, and run the game.

Indiana Jones - The fate of Atlantis II (demo 4) engine 20-03-2004:

  • should run fine in Win8 and 10, no dosbox and no DPMI server needed
