I think maybe a couple of shaded tufts of grass could go well and help it from being too plain.

Yeah I got a couple of friends who work at the Superdome. They get a fair few concerts there, but I guess not heaps. It's nice that we have the facilities here now, as it caters to many events, and it's also a nice place.

I agree with what you said Timosity about the atmosphere during the olympics in Sydney. When we went up there there was just so much activity and so much to do, and cheaply too. It was a great time.

Man this is really bad. I heard it on the radio and its on TV now. I think its been confirmed that there have been 2 fatalities. I hope there arn't any more and that all you Londoners are all safe. :(

Wow you are back! Thats great stuff. It's good to see you return and its great to hear that the time away has been productive. Good work :=

I can't recall any big events happening in the past months that havn't been mentioned already. I guess I've been distracted a bit from here with uni happening.

It will be good to see your game when you finish it.

Well apparently I'm a famous Cyclist. Other than that I'm pretty unknown.

When I saw the title, I thought you were refering to BassFisherman :-\

But yeah I fully agree whith your opinions. Seriously, you arn't that cool in your hotted up car and loud music. I couldn't car less about doing up my car (well if I even had a car of my own), and I don't play music very loud at all. Would be nice to see that sort of law around here, although I don't hear alot of people with loud music.

Ah ok nice. Thanks for the help.

Hey thats also great code, and I'll probably use that later for another purpose. Thats useful if your gui is anywhere and different shapes right?

I really hate sites that only utilise a very small area of the screen. Examples of these would be many band sites. They usually use alot of flash and fancy stuff but is really slow loading and just generally hard to navigate. Also I don't like those weird arty pages with tiny text and weird navigation.

And yeah I don't like all that other stuff that InCreator mentioned.
#131
Ah very nice! Thanks for that. Thats alot neater and actually works and makes sense. I didn't know I could store the mouse modes in an int. Must be those fancy enumerated type things maybe.

Ok sorry about the simple question, but I can't sem to work it out. I havn't used AGS for a while and now starting a game, it's all pretty unfamiliar. I've read the manual faq's etc, and can't seem to work it out.

I have a gui at the bottom of the screen. Its one of those always on top type of things with buttons etc. So yeah when the mouse is hovered over that gui, I want the cursor to change to a pointer, and when it is moved back over the game area to go to what it was last.

I've tried:
Code: ags

if (mouse.y > 219)
  {
      mouse.SaveCursorUntilItLeaves();
      mouse.Mode = eModePointer;
  }
  else
  {
      mouse.Mode = mouse.SaveCursorUntilItLeaves();
  }

in function repeatedly_execute(), but that is quite bad. I need to somehow remember the last cursor option. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to update this to account for the change in address for #ags.

Hey great! I'll read it soon. I enjoyed last weeks read.

Just a story about DIY publishing. Theres a writer in Autralia called Matthew Reily, writes great action kinda books. Well he first started out with a book that he self published and tried to bring it to all the book publishers but they all regected it. Eventually he got noticed by someone from a publisher and now he's one of Australias biggest writers. Kinda nice how it turned out. So I gues I'm saying that there is hope somewhere.

Heh google bought out Keyhole. Theres a new version coming out soon I think. Oh and microsoft is also going to compete with Google Earth with their own version called Virtual Earth.

You mean the've got maps to australia. When I last looked at this there was pretty much no detail in Aus but plenty in America... Oh and I used up like 15mb of bandwith in a few minutes cos I was at uni... Kinda took up a fair chunk of my quota too. :P

Or you could get ffdshow, which also displays XviD movies. And is awesome.
I agree with this. The ffdshow codec works great for me.

Yeah I agree with the grey-market way of looking at things, and this is a similar argument to the abandonware scene. The thing is, as magintz said, soon enough on the Nintendo Revolution, you will be able to download the old games, so the grey-market view will not apply as the games will be available. I think thats a good thing that Nintendo are doing.

It was a great game to watch. I didn't get to see the end of it, but I knew that the Blues were set to win. Looking forward to the decider.
