I agree with Farlander there. Having someone say Copyright ... annoys me too. But on the other hand, a signature is fine, and I like it.

But on topic: Nice work Eleazar, I too did think that those SW pics were reduced photos, so that is a complement. The 3D work is nice, but could do with improvements, but I don't think thats what you were asking for. Anyways, I'm impressed.

I think that we should get some Grim Fandango music up there. I have the mp3 soundtrack, but it can be downloaded from places. It's got alot of good songs. Also some music from AGS games would be nice. For example Pleahburg has awesome music, and I am sure many other games do too.

As lgm said, Firefox has this ability with the Image Zoom function. I find myself using it quite alot. It is a very useful little extension.

Its a pity it did. I used it for a while, and it was nice. Maybe the Inventory Radio can make up for some of it, even if it is just game music (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=17828.0)

Wow, you are a great artist. I too also like the 3rd one the best. It just seems to portray the action very well. I agree that the last one has a great composition. The first two are a bit more rough, but they are good. I do like the first one, although the girls face looks a bit strange.

Hehe, I just noticed something... You now can't report the monthly Hotmail Newsletter as spam. They must have gotten sick of people doing it. I know I did it every month :P. I don't need to know about all their 'special' offers. Oh well, I classify it as spam, but I guess we all agreed somwhere to get the emails.

Good work CJ. It's nice getting more towards object orientated, as I now understand it from learning C++ at uni. When I get around to making a game it will be great to use this style of coding.

Nice work... which reminds me... I've missed reading the last 8 or so issues, I really should get to reading them... :P

Heh I've also had mine for months, but it dodn't bother me cos I already had gmail. Still it is nice to have extra, but they should have done it before gmail came along. That would give them more respect, but I don't really care.

General Discussion / Re: Firefox 1.0 is out

Well it loads pages that are standards compliant, That is something that IE doesn't do, but since most people are using IE, web developers are getting away with sloppy code that doesn't work well with other standards comlying browsers. So yeah it does load them properly if they are coded properly.
Oh and it seems that rodekill.com doesn't work well. I'm sure there is an easy way to fix it, but I wouldn't know.

I havn't really noticed any slowness in starting up. Only when you have downloaded extensions, when you start up next time, they are installed, so it might take a few seconds longer, but generally it doesn't at all. I find it quite fast. And even if it did take a little longer to load, it is still heaps better than IE.

Well that makes sense. I always thought that the logo was of a fox. It still does look like a ox, but I have to admit that the Red Panda looks alot like a fox in certain pictures.

Anyways, you might be having troubles with the mozilla site. It seems to be very busy, and I have had great trouble trying to download extensions and themes. It should clear up soon tho.

I'm thinking that this thread is fairly redundant now because of the fact that this page: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/memberwebs.php lists members webpages from the link in their profiles.

General Discussion / Firefox 1.0.1 is now out
Tue 09/11/2004 14:33:11
Well as you all are probably aware, Firefox 1.0 was released today. If you were didnt know, well now you do, or don't know what Firefox is, it is an alternative browser to Internet Explorer. Other alternatives are available like Opera, and IE shells such as Avant and Maxathon, but I have found Firefox to be the best for me due to its customisation and increased security.

So yeah it is really cool, and is so much better than IE. Really, don't use IE if you can help it. A shell for IE is good, but a whole new browser not built on the IE engine will provide much better security.

Get it here:
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

EDIT: Well now 1.0.1 is out. It fixes security and stability issies. You can get it at the link above.

It looks pretty good. Maybe its the jpeg messing it up, but it seems a bit blurry. Also you need to get rif of double pixels. I notice some on the table at the bottom. Also maybe some work on the prespective is needed.

Looks interesting. Are you going to use them in game? It was pretty cool, although her voice stutters a bit a few times, but I guess thats cos it is computer generated.
Also your game will be pretty huge if you have alot of these.

Sounds really nice. I am impressed. It does remind me a bit of a swamp. Maybe more a jungle, I don't know.
I really like it. I'm not sure what I can suggest for it to be improved except to finish it :P Its good ambient music.

Yeah I know what you mean, I posted up a midi here for c&c, but it just slipped of the main page with only 2 comments. I always like hearing ither peoples music, but I guess its not as easy to access than pictured and animations. Oh well.

It is looking good. Nice history of the game you have there. Its cool how things change, and you find a better platform for completing your game.

The graphics look nice enough. You have an interesting graphical style, incorporating cartoon charactors with photo backgrounds. It's good to hear that the strength of the game is the storyline, as that is one of the most important parts of adventure games.

Keep up the good work.

Well I just noticed that the website link for Two Of A Kind is wrong, it links to http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/www.davelgil.com . I know this is probably the wrong place to point that out, but since the game was sorta mentioned here, dave or a mod will notice and fix it.

edit: And another thing that doesn't really matter much. the AGS page failed the w3c standards: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.adventuregamestudio.co.uk&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=%28detect+automatically%29
It seems that it's failing because of spaces after " and < 's. Its probably not that important, as it all works good, I just thought I might point that out also.

Another thing to note is that the shading on the legs is crazy... especially the leg closest to us. You need to make the shading more stable. Also the head bobing is good, but it is just a little jerky.
