General Discussion / Re: For Aussies.

Yep it seems that Howard won... again. Now thats like 4 terms. I don't mind that much. I'm not all that much into politics.

Oh and Evenwolf, I'm sorry I hjavn't contaced you about the pictures thing. I don't live near many landmarks and so I don't think I can help. And I don't have a video camera.

Looks really interesting. I wasn't a huge fan of the Manhunter games, but it would be cool to see a good fan made sequel.

I must say, your site is awesome. Just get it all updated, and you have a really professional looking site happening. My only concern is that it is hard to determine what are the links - all the text is white.

Yeah I heard something like that a little while ago. Like they were cancelling TechTV. I spose it was the merger. It's sad to hear that it didnt work to well.

Neh, I don't mind who gets elected. In the end, there will always be people complaing about how bad the PM is. I havn't been on this earth all that long, but I don't know many leaders of countries that arn't generally disliked. Maybe thats just coming from the current political climate with Bush and Howard.
Really imho, Howard hasn't done that bad a job. I'm sick of all these propaganda stuff happening, especially at uni. I go there to study, not to have opinions thrown at me every day.

I'm not sure who I'm gonna vote. Not that it really mattters but I think I'm gonna put the Liberals and Labor both down the bottom. Oh and along with the Greens and whoever else that I don't really like.

Oh... I think I will put Howard above Latham tho. Not sure why...

That was cool. I hadn't seen that, so it was good to watch. I wish I did get TechTV, as it sounds pretty cool.

That was well said Highwaygal. I'm sure if I started broadcasting my music, there would be poeople who don't like it. I actually sometimes get offended if someone doesn't like my music, so I agree with flippy also. I just try and ignore what they say, cos I  enjoy it and thats what matters.

I'm not sure about the eye rolling one yet. Also I think CJ said that he didn't really want many more smilies, but I figure the ^_^ and @_@ are used a bit.

Heh, if a mod wants to merge my thread with this one, it would make sense.

Oh yeah I remember that thread now. The difference with these is that they are roger style, so they might appeal more to those on these forums. I was originally just going to convert the yellow ones into roger, but then found that he looked a little better a bit larger. Maybe its just me.

General Discussion / Emoticon Upgrade?
Fri 24/09/2004 12:17:44
Well I was looking at the emoticons on the forum, and thought that the whole roger ones, mixed with the default yellow ones wasn't that great. I thought I might convert them all to the roger type. I also modified the current roger ones to make them slightly larger.

I havn't finished converting them all, and feel free to modify my attempts to make them better. Oh and I wasn't sure if this should be in the Critics Lounge or not, so I just put it here. Maybe if we can all agree on them they could be implemented into the forums. Well they don't have to be, but I think they look cool :P

Well there you go. Oh well, there are plenty of places to find old games. You just need to know where to look. Search for abandonware and you will find much old game goodness.

I think its the AGI version, I havn't tried it.

And before you flame me... they have permission to host the old sierra games.

and could we add to the regular search page, when you go to tick the subforums to search, i find myself always unchecking like all but one, since i remember the subforum it was in, so it would be nice if you could have a check box to check/uncheck the whole subforum, like community, so i dont have to tick, comp, crits, talk and chit chat and such.

is that possible? can it be my future birthday present?
Does the "Check all" checkbox down the button not do a good enough job?

I clicked on the link and there was a popup that was blocked by firefox and some sort of javascript popup thingy, which you can just close, which incidently advertised some spyware cleaning sites. It must be just be something already on your computer causing these problems.

There was another thread just very recently which might have links to sites that can help: http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?topic=16756.0
#355
That makes so much sence. If you need someone for a specific task, then you can do a search and get a whole list, followed by their little description. Awesome idea, and it is so much better than the current way.
I just hope that it is technically not too hard to do.
#356
I would recommend reading through LGM's little step by step guide: http://lilgryph.sitesled.com/docs/tweaky-clean.rtf If you follow all the directions on that, then that would most definately get your computer running alot better.
#357
I came across a link to this site. I havn't really looked at it, but it seems to outline some things that would help.

Sounds pretty cool. After going through this thread and testing all those links, the last one obviously worked. Well the page is saying that the server is currently down. I guess I'll have to try later.
#359
Ok, what type of programs are installing? Are you using Internet Explorer?

Oh and the old ezboard forums are quite dead. Not much reason to stay there.
