General Discussion / Re: It's Been Awhile..

I'm sorry but I don't remember you, even from the EZBoard days. I'd say that you probably wouldnt remember me either cos I don't post all that often.

Sounds cool, but is it only me, or does it seem a little out of time?

Well I don't believe its Josh for obvious resons. It was somethinbg I did think about a while ago when I was playing through the space quest games. A movie based on the series would be really cool. But then I dismissed that idea again, for obvious reasons.

Im sure Chris would be happy for you to do a translation of the file. It has recently been translated into Portuguese by Felipe. I'm not Italian, so I wouldn't use it, but i'm sure that there would be people out there that would find this useful.

My advice:

*Bend her right elbow on the side view.
*Reduce the size of the pants on the side view and make them larger/more consistent on the front view.
*Move her upper body (sholder + head) to the right.
*On the front view, make her left arm bend so it looks like she has an elbow
*And on the front view, make her a bit taller to make it consistent with her side view.

It's a nice sprite, and you have improved it greatly. I love the shoes and her bag. Her feet may be a little large too, but they look fine, but may need to be reduced if you change the size of her pants.

Good luck.

Heh well its funny reading posts that don't make alot of sence.
I think the Jesus coming in 1914 is something to do with the Jehovah's Witness peoples, and I'm quite certain its not in the bible. But yeah.

Well being from Australia I really should turn up hey. I live in Wollongong in NSW which is close to Sydney. I spose I might be able to manage a trip up north, seeing as I have a brother who lives at the Gold Coast. I don't know how it would seem to my family that I am going to go camping with a bunch of 'strangers'. I'll be 19 next year, but I still arn't all that independent. Maybe if I can get a job and get some money I would be able to. Personly I would vote to not have it in winter, as I don't like winter, but I guess it isn't as bad as other countries.

Well I guess I'm a maybe if it is decided we are having it here.

Man, I missed this thread before cos I was on holidays. It's a shame seeing you go Minimi. I think I remember when you came, but my memories going a bit fuzzy so I can't remember... oh yeah I remember, it was about making a christian game, and that was cool. One day maybe you will, you did have a good idea before for one.

I would love to go overseas on some missionary work. My brother went to New Guinnea for 2 weeks, and he said it was one of the most moving times of his life. It really affected him alot, in a good way, and he wants to do more missionary work. I know alot of people who have done missionary stuff and it is very good.

And yeah don't worry about what people say in this thread. I also hate religion, but I am a christian, and that might sound weird to people, but there is a difference. Oh and Darth, DC Talk is pretty cool.

Now, I'm not mocking no one, as i am christian also, but it says in the bible that htese are the last days, and that Jesus is now ruling, since 1914.. etc. etc.
Whats that about Czar?

But anyways, have fun Minimi, I'm sure this time you have off will be a very big time in your life. Take care.

I think Ali has a good idea. Its a really nice photo, so why not adjust it and use it in your game. You would have to have a character that would go with the backgrounds tho, but it would help alot in that you don't need to draw backgrounds.

That picture of the library is very cool. Its a nice technique in drawing semi-realistic backgrounds. It's a bit hard to comment on atm because it is unfinished and it is hard to tell what is real and what you have drawn and if you are going to change that. But it is a very good work in progress. I would make that sign a bit duller as it seems to stand out a bit much.

Keep up the good work.

Well I finally did finish it. It was a good game, but a few things did let me down, as they did others.
Spoiler

Firstly the amound of bugs. Especially the timed sequences. When they were chasing me i didnt get the feeling of being scared because I knew that they wouldnt hurt me. After the fist time of letting them get me, they just stood on the spot next to me and did nothing.

The ending was a nice surprise, but I have the reaction of another person here in feeling that the character we got to know pretty well wasnt who he was and I felt let down, not surprised. A more fleshed out ending would have been nice.

Changing a few of the messages when you do things would have also made the game more atmospheric. Eg, your character becomes more scared in his replys instead of "I might need it" could become, "That might be useful with a killer on board" or something like that. Your character doesnt seem to get to scared about things, and the same standard replys seem to ruin it.

Anyways, despite its flaws, it is still a great game.

Oh yeah, oh yeah!!! I was just reading a thread at Adventure Gamers that said that the game was almost finished. I never knew it would be this soon...

* auhsor goes off to play it

Nice site. I've always been a fan of the MM games, and its good to see a site dedicated to them... as well as some other games I've never heard of, but I'm sure they are cool too.
#496
I think you'll find this site pretty helpful: http://www.vintage-sierra.com/games.html. It shows all(?) of the sierra adventure games as well as other old ones and includes box art etc.
#497
I strongly reccomend abandonia.com. It's only a relatively new site to the abandonware scene, but imo its got the best layout of any abandonware site and has alot of good games including the old Sierra quest games. The community behind the site is also nice, and games are uploaded quite regularly.

You'll see what I mean.

(Banners not too business-friendly, work-bound AGSers).

404 error. Well at least that page is pretty funny, with the server taking to you.

Thats hilarious. Heh that is so cool.

Well another Yahtzee game. Well I'll be. I've only had time to watch the intro, but it is looking to be an awesome game, and judging by everyone elses comments it is good. I'll play it tomorrow.

Oh and Yahtzee, good work with leaving the debug mode turned on... :P

edit: Also both the volume controls have no affect on the volume. Well at least for me
