That was quite an interesting read about Deus Ex. I didnt realise you could make all those comparisons with how the world is now after September 11.

That is definately a game where it would be possible to study in alot of detail. It also a very cool game.

Heh the beta versions DO provide the manual .chm files (well... most of the time) which include also the newly added features, just not the stuffs in the docs folder (revision history, to-dos, etc.)

Oh ok, my bad...

Remember that the beta versions don't come with a manual. In 2.6 SP1 (the latest version) just go on the help menu and click help, or F1 or something. I'm at uni now so I dont know the proper place.

Like SSH said, It's the .chm file in windows.

The Rumpus Room / Re:Sam and Max Cancelled!

Hmm, and here I was thinking that this thread was about the cancellation of sam and max 2. Its good to see that the petition is over 20 000, but I doubt that it will bring it back. The reply from LA was interesting about the petition. I just hope lots of people have used snail mail, cos that does get a better responce than thousands of emails. I wonder how that picket line thingy went at Lucasarts the other week...

btw, just to go off topic again. Jet, your avatar and sig annoy me cos at the moment i'm at uni and i've got a quota on how many megs I can download and its pretty annoying everytime i come on the forums I got these big animations that I can't block. Also I don't really want to keep seeing your sig, cos it does offend me. I think OVC got rid of it for a reason. Oh well, I hope everyone stope annoying everyone else. This place used to be pretty peaceful once upon a time.

I meant that when chords are written from left to right the little e is usually on the left, like eBGDAE...

that's odd... I've never seen it done like that before... usually the high E is on the right... at least from what I've seen in the last eight years I've been playing...
I've only ever seen chords written as EADGBe. Backwards it just looks wrong. Maybe if you were left handed it would make sence.

I've been playing guitar, teaching myself for about 5 years. I play alot of Jeff Buckley, RHCP, RATM, Dream Theater, Metallica(who doesn't), and I guess alot of others. Jeff has alot of weird tunings, so it's kinda annoying to change, if your just messing around on the guitar. But his music is awesome. RATM uses alot of dropped D tuning, which I don't mind.

put up a couple of a few screenshots of "working in AGS", such as its GUI window with some background picture in it, and so on.
I think that is a really good idea. People seem to not like the blank space, so why not fill it up with picures that show AGS 'in action'. Just dont make them all that big, or 56k'ers will complain.
#667
Well I did get it sent to me eventually. Apparently there was some mix up and they decided not to send it, but then i complained and they sent it with a free game of Mortal Kombat V.

Oh and yeah... it was a steering wheel.

And its pretty much only been sitting on my shelf. I got no driving games atm.

Yeah...

I would love to work on a project like this. Its a pity i got uni now and don't have much time. I'm still really interested in this idea, especially the haunted mantion thing. It sounds really cool.

It is looking really awesome. Each version is improving on the last. Congrats for winning btw and to all other who entered, you did well.

What felipe said about the  statistics being a subpart of links. Yeah i agree, when i look at the left bar there seems to be alot of darker blue, and on the right, the headings have a white background. To me it seems weird/unbalanced. Like if your just looking one side, it looks awesome but with them together its a bit unsymmetrical.

Also in the Australian games magazine HYPER. I wrote in about AGS and it got letter of the month. That was quite a while back now...
#671
Whats the go? You said you've given up on this game to in the indy something thread. How about you focus on a smaller game so you can get things right.
Sorry if that sounded harsh.
#672
Heaps cool. It's good to know this game is still in development. I have been looking foreward to it for some time. I think with a more focussed approach then it should work out better. Keep up the good work.
#673
Well my first AGS game was Larry Vales 1. I had played the demo game before, but that doesnt count as a propper game I think. Larry Vales 2 was the second game, and I was greatly impressed by it, and by that time I knew AGS was for me. This was probably around 3 years ago, with 2.2 being the version of AGS i first downloaded.

It was LV2 which influenced me the most I think. I really loved the art in that game, and when I tried my first game I tried to emulate that style. I sort of did, but since I've never finished a game yet, you won't get to see it. I really wish phil would come back and finish LV3, but he's probably too busy enjoying his fame...

Just so you know, If you are converting music from one lossy format (wma) to another (mp3), you are going to lose quality. I really hate wma. I find ogg vorbis to be better than mp3's anyway, and if you are using the music in a game then I reccomend using ogg vorbis.
#675
Thats cool. I've never played this game, tho I have heard good things about it, so it will be good to play it.
#676
BASS was a very cool game. I only got to play it all and finish it a year ago (i downloaded a copy a few months before it was officially released as freeware). We had a demo of it when I was little and I always did want to play the whole game.

And so yeah, the news of a sequal is very cool. That is if they do it right.
#677
Yeah changing to passive helps with searching and connecting, tho it means you can't connect to everyone. Apparently if you use Zone Alarm, it messes things up and oyu can't go active, which is annoying, cos thats what I use.
#678
Yeah that preview wondow was in the DOS Roomedit. I don't know why it wasnt implemented in the windows version. I found it really useful.

It seems to be working now... Hello everyone... ther doesnt seem to be many people on...

The Rumpus Room / Re:Sam and Max Cancelled!

LucasArts' sudden decision to stop production on Sam & Max is mystifying.  Sam & Max was on schedule and coming together beautifully.

I couldn't have been more pleased with the quality of the writing, gameplay, hilarious animation and the gorgeous 3D world that Mike Stemmle's team has created. The rug has been pulled out from under this brilliant team who've so expertly retooled Sam & Max for the 21st century.

I'm extremely frustrated and disappointed especially for the team who have devoted so much effort and creativity to Sam & Max. It's a shame to think that their accomplishments, as well as the goodwill that has been growing in the gaming press toward this project, will all go to waste due to this shortsighted decision.

Thanks everyone, for continuing to make your feelings known.
